    Good video. The only thing you were missing is a LED Light Load Resistor Kit. Older electrical Systems in cars not built for CAN technology simply need to have electrical resistance dampened. This is when the load of current can essentially tell/trick the older car computer into thinking it has a regular bulb in the socket. When too much load is in the circuit without a resistor then you get hyper flashing lights. Many places sell the kits. Easy to install also. Hope that helps! 😊

      This is the same thing with home X-10 modules when used with modern, low-current LED lightning. They do this same kind of pulsing for current sensing determine if the person switched on a lamp, to automatically turn it on. The standard fix for those is to plug in an incandescent night-light along with the LED fixture. In this case, it's pulsing a little current to make sure that the lamp is still functional. :D

      Bruh what kind of resistor. People always say to get a resistor kit but how do you get the resistance you're looking for???

    I know this video is more than 3 years old but I wanted to add some info here. Recently I flashed my 2011 Saab 9-3 with Maptun's LED enabler, which enables almost all external lights for LED. Except for brake/tail lights and turn signal lights all the other can be replaced with LEDs after flashing the BCM with Maptun's software. Although a bit pricey, I think it is worth it as there is no need for load resistors.

    I have the same red saab since 2014 your videos have been very helpful, the only problem with the car is the shocks and door handles. I keep having women leave there husband's cars and fill mine up. I appreciate all the knowledge

    I put led lights on my 2004 rear number plate. They stroded when my car was off. When you lock the car after about 10 seconds they stop. It looks pretty cool once you've locked your car.
    I don't get any warning lights on the dash either.

  • @99subigt
    @99subigt 5 лет назад +2

    I did the same with my 2005 Saab 9-3 arc and they too look kinda strobe lights, after 20secs they turn off when the car is off, you just have to turn off the fog lights every time you are not driving or it will drain your battery completely, I did the tec2 were when I drive I can choose to have the headlights on or fog lights or all 3 high beam, low beam and fogs at the same time, I do like the strobe cause when I park my car and lock it it seems like an alarm so I get some complement or people ask about the strobes, I did this like 2 years ago and I have no problems at all, only 3 times that I forgot to turn off the fogs and I had to jump start the car, waithing for them to fail so I can put some green ones.

    If no one has found a fix all you need is a Tech 2 for quick and ez install of LED lights.

    • @WeakestofWeeks
      @WeakestofWeeks  Год назад

      You cannot enable LED lights via tech 2. Without physically creating a custom harness with resistors or relays, the only way to enable led's by simply programming is with Maptuns LED Enabler App

    Add the difference between resistance in new bulb minus old bull. You can buy the resister and put it in series on the bulb circuit. The resistor should be glued or onnected with screws to something metal. Make sure it's located where the heat it generates won't damage anything else.

  • @eddieg-rider8939

    If you add a resistor on each fog light from negative to positive the car will think they has a original load and will turn on and turn off like normal 6ohm 50w should do it

      10K resistor, even had to do that with the dome light on my old Focus, stayed on (dim) when I closed the door!

    • @LDantinhas
      @LDantinhas 4 года назад

      Howard Messias ok so if you connect the led and you connect a bridge not serial but parallel, with a 10k resistor along the led it stops flashing? My 2007 Saab 9-3 has H7 hi beams, w5w presence, and H3 fog converted to LED. Ordering a so called “CAN bus led” does nothing except stopping the error on the dashboard (my w5w led are real CAN bus led, I get no error but they blink), it always blinks. I ordered all anti-flickers modules you can imagine from eBay to stop it but my Saab still looks like a Christmas tree until I turn on the lights. I could quit but LED lighting is so much better ! Plus I have xenons with 7000K Osrams cbb, it’s so cool, my front light are all pure white with a zest of blue. Awesome.

    The strobe effect is kinda cool, and since it uses minuscule power... go with it and just clear the error when you start the car, just a simple push of a button.

    A cancellor will stop the bulb warning, but the shut down blink will always remain on led. But only for 2mins

      Thank you! I absolutely love the laser red color. As for the LEDs, yes and no. I've tried introducing a relay with a custom harness and still kicked back bulb outage errors. Since then, Maptun has developed a very promising product to enable the use of LEDs. I reached out to them a few months ago to see about dealers that offer the product in the United States but they never responded. www.maptunparts.com/maptunerx/maptunerx/294808/led-lamp-activation-app.html

    I changed the headlights in my girl friends Dodge Dakota truck and all the electrical system went haywire. After 2 days the dash says "Check Gauge" and even worse and more strange and unexpected, alternator stopped charging the battery.
    However, this was just my experience. Might have been coincidental

    • @farazsiddiqui6689
      @farazsiddiqui6689 5 лет назад

      Shahab it could be because of what pFusion Technologies said in the thread earlier. You may need to put load resistors in the circuit. The LED don't take much 'load' hence the computer is unable to regulate the supply. It sounds very intuitive. Best.

      Did your car originally have halogen headlight bulbs? The headlight settings for the car probably need changed to xenon via tech2 scanner.
