@@tushartanvir5672 _"This show is ironically really, really bad at showing strong, complex women."_ Which makes all this even more confusing and depressing.
I watched episode 1 back in like 2021, but all I remember is Cavil saying something about if he's stuck choosing between one evil or another he'd rather choose neither. That was about all the impact the show left, after that its just been me watching Letalis' reviews (no interest in hate-watching and rewarding people who butcher IPs).
It was a mistake for Henry to quit Witcher for Superman. But it was also a tragedy that Cavill's Superman was rebooted and recasted. Henry really didn't deserve all this losses. I hope he does well as an actor. He is also a fan like us.
When I first learned that Cavill would play The Witcher, I thought he was the least suitable person for the role. Now I can see that in the entire show there was no one suitable but him.
"You mistake stars reflected in a pond for the night sky!" - when I heard that version while playing Gwent in english a while ago, I immediately fell in love with that line. Netflix one... lacks the tempo or some kind of punch within itself. But this is extremely nitpicking all things considered.
The funniest inconsitency for me was the constant change between contact lenses and cgi altered eye colors, sometimes within the same scene. The cgi eyes looked so much better while the lenses were just alien. Especially Geralts lenses made his eyes look in different directions which looked really goofy at times. I just wonder how this came to be like were they ordered to take them in and out every hour of shooting? Plus why did Francesca had contact lenses?
I liked how they conveyed the rebelion on Thanedd, the event itself was shown very well and the events in general followed the canon (with a few exceptions and it was good), but everything that happened after that I would call a lame adaptation with lazy implementation and bad graphics. There was also a good fight with Vilgefortz. I would give this season 6/10 better than season 2 (on season 1 lvl it seems) but no more. I don't know what's in store for the show in the future, but there's clearly no good if they don't change or fix the mistakes they've done and continue to do in the past.
Spot on as usual. Do you mind going deeper as to why you liked Milva so much? I thought she felt stiff and like the actor was reading her lines just of screen.
I guess I liked Milva/Geralt and Dandelion's more down to earth interactions refreshing, I wouldn't say I liked her "so much" but compared to what we have so far...
Thanks for the overall balanced review. While I think this season was terrible, with the repetitive party in ep 5, the endless desert in e7, and the total lack of a cliffhanger in e8 as particular lowlights- the Vilgefortz fight was awesome and probably the best duel in the show. I won’t be sad to see this show get canceled. I hope in a few years it gets rebooted with a better show runner who actually respects the books and the audience.
im hoping for a quick cancel for the same reasons but sadly knowing netflix they will hold on to the rights for as long as they can to refuse anyone the chance to outshine them
I watched the witcher in 2019 because of superman, henry cavil not knowing anything, loved it. Played witcher 3, read the the last wish, recently finished witcher 1. Witcher 3 is among the greatest game i've ever played, i poured 200 hours into it and also hours watching your details missed and he got me into this world. They killed my interest when Eskel became a leshen but kept watching for him.
Thanks for giving your review, I'd been waiting for it. Most of the other reviews I've heard have been complaining about how Ciri-heavy the episodes are and how Geralt loses the fight with Vilgefortz and then is injured and recovering in Brokilon when that's exactly what happened in the books. There were plenty enough inconsistencies through the episodes as it is. I was also disappointed that Rience was killed so early in the series - he should be a threat for a while yet.
I feel sorry for this dude, being force to understand things that even the netflix writer itself blame the viewer on how THEIR show turns out. But a sign of respect to you and to Henry for making this a little interesting for me and being force myself to watch it so I can put the same perspective you have to them.🎉
so, yeah guys, this season's encounter with the man Vigo, is how Geralt of Rivia, Witcher, super human, the legendary white wolf came to be in witcher 3 - unable to take any fall damage and will die from jumping off a flight of stairs....
Maybe Dara is just meant to be a window into Ciri’s past. A way to show the way the world and the people in it have changed since the beginning of her journey.
I have no idea how rotten tomato "critics" rate this a damn 77%. Do they double the score as long as its woke? One critic actually said that the big monster CGI was a great feature and we barely got any of it in season 3. These critics are a bunch of dishonest sell outs. It wasnt just about the source material. The show was extremely boring. CGI was meh, dialogue was forgettable, Geralt the star felt like a side character, still forcefully woke. If this is a 77 then fook me im the prince of Bangladesh
The only possible praise I have for this season is there are a few scenes are good - in isolation. Geralt breaking Dijkstra’s ankle, Geralt vs Vilgefortz namely. Those scenes, watched on their own feel straight out of the book, ignoring all the other shit writing.
To be fair, in the books she does nullify the dimeritiem shackles, i thought it was a plot hole, but if you think of dimeritem as only disrupting the magic of the wearer’s, it means someone else could break it.
The bitter sweet video I was waiting for. Thank you powering through this series assassination for us. The chemistry between Henry Cahill, Milva and Dandelion just seemed so natural.
@@xLetalis I don't know if you picked up on this, but the Nilfgaardian soldier who tells Geralt to "piss off" in the last episode has a northern accent. I feel like they can't even get the cultures right of certain people so it is just confusing with no Nilfgaard accent. Also, the armor looks dumb, I agree that season 1 looked cheap, but this armor is barely black. How can the black ones be called the "black ones" when what they wear just dark gold colored armor?
I used to write plays as a child for my friend's little kids theater, and I feel like those plays were of a better quality than the screenplays Netflix has today, sadly
For the most part, I enjoyed this final season. Final, because even though they left it with an opening for a 4th season, they also closed the chapter a lot better than I thought they would.
xLetalis, interesting theory I heard... they planned to have Falka be the White Frost. The same voice that gave that not-hobbit in Blood Origins his powers, the glowing orb. So their plan apparently was for Ciri to fight Falka at the end, thus killing the White Frost and saving the world. But now it is on hold indefnitely, so Netflix Witcher will hopefully perish... and a better adaptation hopefully comes our way from soneone who isn't Netflix.
you liked Cahir, Tissaia and Milva because they match what you have imagined upon reading the books, for it is also what i imagined. PS: Bonus points for the LOTR scene :)
Something I've always wondered about the Witcher: It is stated that the humans who entered the world during the Conjunction of the spheres came from Earth, 1,500 years before the events of the book. Does anyone know when in *Earth's* history that was? Are there any indications in the canon? I had initially presumed that, since the humans in the Witcher have medieval-level technology, they must have originated from medieval-era Earth (e.g. the 1200s in our time), and just not progressed any further technologically in the next 1500 years on the Witcher world. However, Avellach claims that the humans had destroyed Earth by the time they arrived in the Witcher world, setting the Conjunction of the Spheres in the Earth's future? However, when Ciri visits Earth it still exists and appears to be in the near future (flying cars etc - 2077 in the games canon, placing the Conjunction in the sixth century of Earth's history - quite a chaotic era which makes sense). Or is Ciri literally able to time-travel, not just teleport physically between universes?
The heroic last stand of the brotherhood's resident racist finally getting into his element by killing different races with fire while screaming racist slurs was a weird tonal shift i wasn't sure they thought through.
It’s really maddening that people who have never read the books rage on the show for”inaccuracy” just for clout You are a certified witcher expert and i only value your opinion on the relevance of the show (Which i still hope will be canceled specially in the midst of writers protest)
They actually even kind of messed uo Vilgefortz stars in the pond quote! Vilgefortz actually says it to Geralt during their comversation at the ball qnd says 'I mistook stars reflected in a pond for those in the sky' and in the show he says 'you mistook the stars reflected in a pond - for the sky.' But that is a major nitpick 😂
Why did you omit one of the final scenes with Cavill as Geralt with him senslessly slaughtering a group of Nilfgaardians because one stole a doll from a girl? Such masterfull scene capturing how Netflix doesn't give a single fuck. I clapped and cried.
@@xLetalis I can understand that, because I have actually watched only the first episode of the first season and decided it will be very bad for my blood pressure to keep watching. I can't even imagine what kind of inhuman levels of patience you have...
Thanks for all the reviews and time you spent making them! I never liked the show but it was just getting even just a tiny bit better towards the end I feel, but it wasn't nearly enough and way too late (of which Henry leaving speakes volumes about). It is bittersweet for me too because I can't see the show improving enough to make it a good Witcher show especially with Henry's passion being gone. And if it really comes to pass and the show gets cancelled who knows when we will get another Witcher live- action adaptation if we even ever will :( The latter is sadly very likely in that case. Anyways, see you in next video!
Hahaha the sorcerers with the conjoined swords cracked me up so much!! I was thinking: here it comes! But instead I went wondering what on earth they were doing?! 😂😢😂
Man Cahir was done so dirty, it's a damn shame when his arc is a wonderful part of the books. A knight in black who seems evil, haunting Ciris nightmares when really he was noble all along and saved her in Cintra but couldn't help her with the trauma. They made him murder a bunch of randos, play second fiddle to Fringilla for a season, murder a random elf only to then throw himself at Ciri's mercy? what a damn mess. Rushed as hell when that payoff wouldn't come for another books worth of tension as he follows Geralts fellowship for unknown reasons.
In the witcher 3 keira, triss and yen all use a magic shield in battle as well as other Powerfull magic. In the tv show they use telekinesis, teleportation and small fireballs and thats its. So its like watching an old episode charmed now lol
Stregebor's entrance speech was cool. But did his fire magic even do any significant damage to the elves to really buy Yennefer time? It didn't feel like it. Also, Tissaia's Alzur's Thunder, while the show tried to make it out to be impressive, it felt a bit weird with Francesca just blocking it with her shield without consequence. Tons of other stuff that were weird and out of logic, but at this point I'm not even surprised with this show. At the end of it all, Henry Cavill and us Witcher fans (who wanted this show to be good and respect the lore) just deserved so much better. With Henry saying sayonara, well....its future certainly looks even grimmer.
I thought it was really odd how Cahir fought his wasy thru the melee, killing mages, o ly to throe hinself down before Ceri like that. If he eanted to atone like he daid id have expected him to dhoe up before the elves got there and tell the brotherhood about the attack
It was cool seeing you make a reference to the D&D movie, xLetalis! If you are a fan, I would be curious to know if you are planning to play Baldurs Gate 3 in any capacity? Or are you going to first play Phantom Liberty once it releases next month?
I've been considering jumping into BG3 again... I've played about 200 hours of it throughout the early access, but there was just something that didn't quite work for me in that game :) I like dnd, Dragon Age Origins and Divinity 2, so I thought I'd love a mix of the 3 but idk... May be I just don't like the 5e system in a single-player videogame.
Thank you for showing me what I didn't miss. Now I can lay this betrayal by Netflix to rest without having to put myself thru watching the rest, so that I don't wonder if I _might_ be wrong after only watching E1 & 2 of S3. No, I wasn't wrong. I'll not try to think up adverbs that express my disgust and disappointment. This... disappointment is at its end for me. If I could burn it, it would be on a very large pyre on top of layers of wood and kindling - nothing should remained but grey ash to be blown away on a swift breeze.
Honestly it felt, at times, that the show only shifted to Geralt when it absolutely needed him to do something, and was very reluctant to take any focus away from Yen or Ciri. Given the treatment of the witchers themselves, it's almost as if the showrunner would have preferred not to have them in the show at all if possible. Personally, I was incredibly put off by the end of season 2, to the point that I couldn't even bring myself to watch Cavill's swansong in season 3, because this show is so much more interested in everyone but Geralt.
I really like the fact that Henry tries his best to keep the story as close to books as possible. Sadly however nowadays tv series dont use original story. They do something completely different and it doesn't work. Do you know why Hobbit and Lord of the Rings were so loved? Because they strictly followed the books!!! Simple as that.
It's quite refreshing to see Letalis taking more measured and soft spoken approach to reviewing The Witcher show. Nice change of tone from the usually more vicious takes, but unfortunately these come with territory. Hollywood is killing our IPs and people are not happy
Only thing I remember from this season is Geralt breaking Djikstras leg… rest of the season was entirely forgettable, we’ll miss you Henry but looks like you won’t be missing much of anything
I always laugh when people say the show has "pacing issues", because I know what they mean is that the scenes with Yennefer and Cirilla are boring and drag on for way too long. Everyone seems to like the Geralt scenes though, shockingly - Witcher fans tune into The Witcher to see the Witcher.
Cavill carried the show so hard it's unbelievable. I dropped the series mid way into season two, but it's really sad to see how much potential this show had that was squandered. Cavill's performance as Geralt was one of the only things that lived up to it's full potential and now that he's leaving I really see no future for this show. Only good thing it has done is make me look into Henry more and thus cement me as a life long fan of his
This might be the last review I make for The Witcher show, can't say for sure, but if so - thank you all for watching these, it's been a bittersweet experience making them :)

I feel like they dumb everything down and explain so many things, they treat the audience as stupid and this is what they make me feel, like it's a poorly written teenager's show...
I thought falka was Ciri's internal struggle, just visualized as falka. Not real Falka telling Ciri to part with her powers.
@@tushartanvir5672 _"This show is ironically really, really bad at showing strong, complex women."_ Which makes all this even more confusing and depressing.
"My wife can finally relate to the show, I guess." 😂
Thanks for your review. I am not going to watch this season myself, can't bare this mess anymore.
I was so very disappointed in Season 2 myself, I can't do it either.
I watched episode 1 back in like 2021, but all I remember is Cavil saying something about if he's stuck choosing between one evil or another he'd rather choose neither.
That was about all the impact the show left, after that its just been me watching Letalis' reviews (no interest in hate-watching and rewarding people who butcher IPs).
the title made me believe that you were reviewing alongside with Henry Cavil🙃
ah sorry for the confusion
not your fault, i'm not that bright@@xLetalis
@@alexsandersouza8877 It's ok, we still like you
I ain't watching this show no more if Henry is really not coming back any more as geralt
thank you for going through the pain letalis your witcher vods are the best!
It was a mistake for Henry to quit Witcher for Superman. But it was also a tragedy that Cavill's Superman was rebooted and recasted. Henry really didn't deserve all this losses. I hope he does well as an actor. He is also a fan like us.
I've never wanted a show cancelled more than this one.
Hesalreadydead.gif
It doesn't matter we ain't gonna watch it even if they continue
Rings of Power being the other one. I am wondering which is worse.
When I first learned that Cavill would play The Witcher, I thought he was the least suitable person for the role. Now I can see that in the entire show there was no one suitable but him.
Dear xLetalis, your commentary on the Netflix Witcher is way too polite.
She was way too old and an insufferable female dog in every scene.
@@xLetalis fair enough. Thank you for the reply!
I hope in a few years it gets rebooted with a better show runner who actually respects the books and the audience.
im hoping for a quick cancel for the same reasons but sadly knowing netflix they will hold on to the rights for as long as they can to refuse anyone the chance to outshine them
I appreciate the puns in your gameplay voiceover bits lol
But a sign of respect to you and to Henry for making this a little interesting for me and being force myself to watch it so I can put the same perspective you have to them.🎉
In the game, Karen Morhan, old watchtower (where the portal is) did you notice the letter of apology is signed C. de P.R.?
8:17 Nothing you said up to here was nitpicking. Those are major problems that make the episode, and the show, fall apart.
:(
it is upsetting I wont be seeing henry's geralt interact with my favorite character Regis.
so, yeah guys, this season's encounter with the man Vigo, is how Geralt of Rivia, Witcher, super human, the legendary white wolf came to be in witcher 3 - unable to take any fall damage and will die from jumping off a flight of stairs....
To be fair, in the books she does nullify the dimeritiem shackles, i thought it was a plot hole, but if you think of dimeritem as only disrupting the magic of the wearer’s, it means someone else could break it.
you should consider making videos about Baldut's gate 3, it is a very popular game these days and I think you would like it !
The bitter sweet video I was waiting for. Thank you powering through this series assassination for us. The chemistry between Henry Cahill, Milva and Dandelion just seemed so natural.
my pleasure
@@xLetalis I don't know if you picked up on this, but the Nilfgaardian soldier who tells Geralt to "piss off" in the last episode has a northern accent. I feel like they can't even get the cultures right of certain people so it is just confusing with no Nilfgaard accent. Also, the armor looks dumb, I agree that season 1 looked cheap, but this armor is barely black. How can the black ones be called the "black ones" when what they wear just dark gold colored armor?
Never thought you'd give s03 any credit, good on ya!
You think Netflix will just sell the rights to their competition ? Best we could hope for is a restart of the series.
you liked Cahir, Tissaia and Milva because they match what you have imagined upon reading the books, for it is also what i imagined.
PS: Bonus points for the LOTR scene :)
10:58 that lego pic killed me
Something I've always wondered about the Witcher: It is stated that the humans who entered the world during the Conjunction of the spheres came from Earth, 1,500 years before the events of the book.
3:56 I'm just here to see Geralt sick moves...
“I liked it when she ate her cream” 9:57 LMAO
The heroic last stand of the brotherhood's resident racist finally getting into his element by killing different races with fire while screaming racist slurs was a weird tonal shift i wasn't sure they thought through.
He was great in that scene
Thank you Henry and R.I.P to the show
Season 3 makes me almost forgive season 2
yeah it's better :)
It’s really maddening that people who have never read the books rage on the show for”inaccuracy” just for clout
You are a certified witcher expert and i only value your opinion on the relevance of the show
(Which i still hope will be canceled specially in the midst of writers protest)
First episode actually gave me some hope, and it ended up being worse than season 2
Funny how Episode 1 is the best in each season :)
@@xLetalis every season they gave us hope and then quickly crapped al over it 😅
@@serjofcinder8925 it’s done on purpose - they are keenly aware of what good writing is. They choose to be bad.
True, the book version was, as you mentioned, in different context, but still :)

LOL that meme is awesome !!!
Why did you omit one of the final scenes with Cavill as Geralt with him senslessly slaughtering a group of Nilfgaardians because one stole a doll from a girl? Such masterfull scene capturing how Netflix doesn't give a single fuck. I clapped and cried.
I think I was checked out at that point :)
@@xLetalis I can understand that, because I have actually watched only the first episode of the first season and decided it will be very bad for my blood pressure to keep watching. I can't even imagine what kind of inhuman levels of patience you have...
I liked it, especially the mage fighting scenes. Now lets watch the vid
Cahir killed the whole tavern of people because he thought the doppler was hiding as one of them.
I mostly just liked his speech and entrance, can't even remember what he actually did with his magic
the medallion from reefri dos
han not giv it to the king after saving the King's daughter as a gift ??
As someone who only made it through 3 eps of the whole show i must say you are all braver than me.
8:28 Tell me she's NOT Keira Metz PLEASE!!
:) she is
@@xLetalis oh lawd
Seems like you and Neon Knight had a different take on Milva's character/acting haha
one thing i liked in the show is them giving characters that just kinda disappear for no reason in the books an actual plotline, like filavandrel.
I thought it was really odd how Cahir fought his wasy thru the melee, killing mages, o ly to throe hinself down before Ceri like that. If he eanted to atone like he daid id have expected him to dhoe up before the elves got there and tell the brotherhood about the attack
I think this review was more enjoyable than the entire third season of The Witcher.
I don’t overthink it and just enjoy the impressions. S3E6 was my favorite after season 1. Internal consistency has never happened with LSH.
Wow the majority of the events happened did not involve the witchwe
Something didn't add up to me is how the magical water didn't heal geralt but yennefer could
Thank you for the analyses, they're very comprehensible and far more enjoyable than the show 😅. Greetings from Bulgaria!
Stregebor making a badass appearance. I like it
It was cool seeing you make a reference to the D&D movie, xLetalis!
@@xLetalis ah, understandable. You can only game what you enjoy in the end
Witcher netflix series was as painful as the non skippable YT ad
In regards to all of the inconsistencies, you expected waaaay too much from Netflix writers. I don't think they know what plot flowcharts are.
I didn't reflect on the boat and the stable. I don't understand how people can be so inconsistent when creating something.
I've waited so long for those 20 minutes. Here I go! I'll be back in... 20 minutes!
hope it was worth it ;]
Henry Cavill has optically become that actor and inspiring figure that I will love above all others.
He will always be the best Geralt.
I like to think that final scene is secretly what “Geralt” wanted to do to the Writers
"Ciri tried healing it with the fuck spell"
Every internet-user: "He knows not what he has done!"
Also lol at you selling Ciri even in -this- video :P
Very sadge. Not about the show ending per se but because it will be aeons before we get another try at this.
Everyone seems to like the Geralt scenes though, shockingly - Witcher fans tune into The Witcher to see the Witcher.
you have a point ;]
Cavill carried the show so hard it's unbelievable. I dropped the series mid way into season two, but it's really sad to see how much potential this show had that was squandered. Cavill's performance as Geralt was one of the only things that lived up to it's full potential and now that he's leaving I really see no future for this show. Only good thing it has done is make me look into Henry more and thus cement me as a life long fan of his
thanks X for the video, was really waiting on this one ,
