Purple’s last stand was probably my favorite musical part. Purple’s theme playing as he tried one last time to defeat the king was just 🤌
I guess purple tried to use the memories of the King for stop him

The discreet throwback to ep29 at 13:57 was absolutely beautiful
Not just that but also the herobrine moment of the subtle school background music
Love that part too, gives me chills while watching
bro when i tell you this music made me cry man, hit me right in the fucking feels
I believe that’s Purple’s leitmotif
Agree
What I find most beautiful about the finale was that ultimate victory wasn't won by overpowering the bad guys, but by the kindness each character showed to the others they met along the way.
Blue helped the piglins, and they returned to help the stick figures get back to their portal.
TSC helped the Warden remember its past, and it helped him fight the King. The same goes for Yellow and Blue with the villagers and titan ravager, Red helping his mob classmates (even though they showed him nothing but resentment at first), and most importantly, Green taking the time to listen to Purple's story and convince him that he can change his path.
And in the end, that kindness was enough to convince the King that what he was doing was wrong and that he had the ability to undo the damage he'd caused.
Simple acts of kindness are more powerful than they may seem.
They have green souls of kindnes from undertale!
Don't underestimate the power of kindness!
Purple was the other villain too, and his story goes exactly the same. The king’s analogical memory of smashing the Minecraft icon, the Minecraft mobs and the stickmen…it has such a huge parallel to purple pushing the villagers and stickmen out of the way before taking the icon from Red and letting him fall.
Reasons I will never stop plugging this series:
*a true selfless act, always sparks another.*
Why is nobody talking about Red's possession? It was literally on of the most greatest callbacks I have ever seen..
unbelievably good callback, i almost fell out of my seat when i saw red start slamming a massive netherite sword into the king's staff
The giant obsidian stick figure was when I realized that it was the callback.
sudden violin rise at 14:19 sounds like purple's voice is shaking while he tries to scream through the pain. both physical & psychological
beautiful analysis!
Purple's Last Stand actually made me cry. His tragic theme, his emotional journey, reprising and coalescing into this moment of courage to fight for his newfound friends and the world around him. You compose in a way that makes emotion so very clear, in a piece of media that has no words to tell its story. Thank you.
legit haven’t cried in ages. The soundtrack made me tear up man, I NEVER TEAR UP BUT NOW I DO??
"Purple no!"
"Green, he might have started this, but I still have a part in this mess. It's still my responsibility, and I'm going to fix it..."
"King! You go on and on about your revenge against this world, but what has it brought you!? You think that by throwing everything else away you can somehow get back what you lost!? I tried that before! And it never worked! You think you're the only one who knows what it's like to lose something you can never get back!? I know what it's like to feel empty! And I know what it really takes to stop it! So quit deluding yourself and wake up!"
Same here. Everytime i watch it i tear up
@@Konh-Minh if only we had captions still
I'm not crying about purple it's a same
Hey folks! Hope you enjoyed this epic 22-minute score - the longest in the series so far! It's such a joy writing these scores for Alan and his team. What was your favourite part? Purple's theme always hits - but I had waaay too much fun scoring Herobrine's theme. :D
There nothing more to say other than "WELL DONE TO EVERYONE IN ALAN'S TEAM!"
For me I have to say is the last ditch effort. It just hits just right.
All of them are the best.
Herobrine Drip theme is epic but I love purples theme
My favorite overall is the Pigstep Remix with Purple's Emotional Journey coming at a close 2nd with the climax of AvA Short 4 coming 3rd. But in this episode, One Last Stand is probably my favorite score. It's a great remix of Emotional Journey to show how far Purple's come.
Favorite part is at 15:08. When King realizes what he's doing, done, the music change just fits so well with him trying desperately to rectify the mistakes he made with the son he was about to lose. I also thoroughly enjoyed how the stick gang rally their strength for one final speed to end this conflict once and for all. Really awesome to see how they support each other as they race to outrun the destruction of the world.
it sounds like interstellar?
By the way it's a reference to interestelar and probably Fortnite xd + it's tragic
how is it a refrence to fortnite@@kingcrimson7472
Yeah, the King's realization actually made me cry 😢
2:08 feels straight out of a movie. It fits the scene perfectly. A father desperately trying too save his son from being killed. It shows the desperation in the scene and the kings mood without words
It really shows the fight in his son to try and keep going as well as King watching his son die horribly...in the most traumatic way of being helpless but having it all play out right in front of him as he had to watch.
@@BlueberryPie404 this.
How could you not consider the third season of AvM a movie.
The reuse of “An Emotional Journey” made me perk my ears up when watching the premiere. It’s such a beautiful representation of Purple’s story and character as they’ve gone from the villain of the first season to the partial hero of the third season. Purple was selfish back then, and at that exact moment they were putting their life at risk just to take a stand against the King. Your music is so beautiful that it tells the story without any visuals, it can be perfectly understood. That’s an achievement that not many people get. Scott, you’re a legend beyond belief.
Don't forget Animation vs League of Legends which made this all better. He became conflicted and its also implied AvL happens sometime before Season 3, showing Purple did not get over losing even though the others literally let him join them
Yep, i guess that’s gonna be Purple’s leitmotif! Meaning a melody that repesents a character :)
@@bestevil. If I had to guess, probably because Purple still couldn’t get over their father’s expectations and wanting love and respect. And yeah, I often forget AvLoL when talking about Purple lol
@@Gardengap I sure hope it will be, I loved both uses of it and it’d always be nice to see it implemented into other scores
@@TheGuy10111 yes, as long as it doesn’t get overused.
A world collapsing at 15:55 was honestly my favorite score. I had a similar dream where the world was going to be eaten by a black hole and it just reminds me of that dream.
Bros gonna predict Avm in real life💀
Dude you were the king’s son
Oh I had a dream like that too! A black hole appeared in the gym at my school and we had to all run it was scary
@@Sparklewolfgirl67 was it more like what the king’s son saw or what the epic stick figure team saw

I can't even imagine the episodes without music. When I try, it just feels awkward and weird. Stuff like this proves that music is a pivotal and extremely necessary part of media. And your music sounds like it belongs in a cinema. I really hope you compose the music to a movie one day. You deserve it.
Yeah the music definitely makes the episodes PERFECT. Especially since there is like no talking

22 minutes of straight perfection. You've always taken Alan Becker's animations and put them on a higher level. Hats off to you as always, Mr. Buckley! ❤
Yeah I try to think that Scott make a music for avm short so yeah I try to think that but its been 2 month ago to think that
I love how all of the song names (e.g. "One perfect day") can tell you the entire introduction, conflict, and resolution of the story without even having to watch the episode itself. You can see how it goes from "the perfect day" to something bad happening, to the rise of orange and everyone's struggles against him. Only to then see him come back to his senses and how everything was being erased, with things eventually coming to a conclusion. Brilliant work, Mr. Buckley!
I love the herobrine theme! It makes him so unbelievably badass.

Yess!! Ep 29 too!!
Why does purples last stand have to be so good. The instruments symbolize the characters. The violin being purple and the brass being orange. The brass overpowering the violin, but the brass starts to go high, almost as if it's unsure, then as the crescendo happens, the brass works with the violin and chorus, coming together to make one big finish. Beautiful storytelling just through the music. Thank you for blessing us with such a masterpiece
1:34 those three notes, I’ve just realised… they seem to be Orange’s leitmotif (a melody that represents a person)
I also love how Herobrine is represented by that epic beat thingy… interesting choice
Reminds me if celeste's music
@@thisdude-nz8jt Ah, yes. Celeste had some pretty good leitmotifs in there.
I feel like that when “Purple’s last stand” started you could see how Green is reaching for him not to go, the flute starts playing as which we know that that was the instrument Green’s voice was in “Noteblock Universe” and the violin as Purple’s voice. You can basically hear what was going on between them, and not just what we were seeing, but it was like Green was singing to Purple not to got, and Purple responding back and it was in a deeper octave as if he was saying “I need to go.” I don’t know if anyone else notice this either and there were other parts that the animation and music had worked together that are hard to notice. And I lastly got to say that the music along the whole entire episode made it so much more enjoyable and emotional. Amazing job to the team, and the music Scot Buckley and the other composers. The entire hours of work makes it beautiful!
This score blew it out of the water! The instruments and composition were absolutely perfect and the callback to An Emotional Journey from Noteblock Universe was genius. The music conveyed all the emotions just right
One of the main things that made me so hyped for episode thirty was that I KNEW the soundtrack would be amazing. Such a cinematically professional job, well done 👍. I respect you so much scott
13:52 we can hear purple's violin voice, as well as a throwback to ep.29 a few seconds later. Pure awesome.
Dude I just want to say the animations are prodigious and Alan's team made such a good work, but without the fantastic music you bring to the episodes it would absolutely not be the same.
What you create is a work of art, thank you for letting me experience such a range of emotions with this
14:13 Absolutely loved how Every instrument evoked an emotion:
Violin: Purple's Voice/Emotive Effort
Trombones: Alarming
Horns: Emotive Flashback
HiHat: Challenging
Choirs (Crescendo): Last Step for Redemption.
My favorite part is "A World Collapsing". I noticed that during this segment that you added a bit of the theme you composed in AvA 5, which I assume it's TSC's theme. I absolutely love it. Both you and Aaron Grooves made a fantastic job with this project. Way to make history!👌
It called leitmotif
Yeah me too
I don’t know what Animation vs Minecraft “The King” would be without this soundtrack. You helped spice up the episode by a million tiers. Such an incredible piece, I can’t wait to see what you do for Alan next

The animations just wouldn't be the same without the spectacular music! You're a big part of the reason AvM has come so far :)

Greetings Scott Buckley!!! The 1st 34 seconds sold me. The touch that caught my ear when I first started listening to your music is the way you allow different instruments to single out. Allowing my imagination to take over. I love this. Great driving music. My dad was a taxi driver and taught me. I know how to get thru traffic and remain safe and my distance not to alarm folks or get a rise out of a would be angry driver. Adventure is what I like even at 70 yo. 😆 Happy Year 2023. Peace
When king realizes whats happened because of him in the weird white space gave me chills i swear
Never have I thought I would cry to this...I feel like what really made me completely break down was when I heard 19:25 because the emotions that your music conveyed really got to me!! It just felt as if someone broke free from whatever has been holding them back for ages. It's incredible that just sound can have so much emotion and feeling without any words, Your music was the final and most touching aspect that made the whole episode complete! I am so happy that I managed to find the creator of this amazing music after watching Alan's finale!!! Thank you for creating such a masterpiece
King Orange redeems his fault to Purple, if only they made Ice King the same way Alan made King Orange
I nearly cried too, I tried so hard to restrain myself 😢
Now that's such a roller coaster of emotions, it sometimes feels heartbreaking, sometimes chaotic, sometimes emotional, just, so many things happened! Hats off to you for making the greatest musics for Alan's animations!
Herobrine's theme matches so well with its personality and its fighting style! It's really well done and its one of the best in my mind! The tension built up between the king orange and herobrine before they fight is perfect!
I fell like every great animation has even greater soundtracks. This here is a perfect example of this logic. Fantastic job Mr. Buckley on setting the scene for The King with your music.
"Herobrine" is my favourite when it comes to combat style music, but when it comes to emotions etc. "Purple's last stand" is absolutely awesome
A World Collapsing is one of the greatest instrumental musical pieces I will ever listen to. Especially with the call to Purple’s ‘voice’ from the Music Universe at 17:42, absolute musical genius. Add in the video behind it and the goosebumps anyone gets is universal
The Animation is briliant, but the music? ITS INSANE, I always come to your Channel to listen to full score, its incredible dude! I love it SO MUCH!!
A World Collapsing has to be my favorite part. It sounds so heavenly, yet so action-based. It is a MASTERPIECE
this man deserves so much more credit. It legitimately made me feel like I was watching a Marvel movie when I heard this soundtrack.
Your use of leitmotif in this episode is insane, I got chills all over. Awesome work!!

Purple's Last Stand, World Collapsing and Reconcilliations hit me in the feel

Wow, you write these scores? They're amazing! The cinematic feel was really captured in each and every piece.
During purple's last stand you can hear their voice as violin until they get swept away by the beam, with the violin cutting out
Herobrine is my favorite cause it really shows how powerful the king is and how much time he spent studying everything about minecraft which means his dedication is immeasurable.
Herobrine and red possessions are some of my favorites, especially with the callbacks from the classic
My favorite part out of all the scores you composed for AVM shorts is the scene where king orange gains possession of the game icon and attempts to attach it to his staff (from both the monster school episode and the raid episode). The chord progressions in both scenes were the same, but it was more intense in the raid, which represents the king succeeding in his plan and also represents the extra power of the combined block.
Absolutely brilliant

Your last two soundtracks for these final battles are so good. They are like villain songs
True, it is king orange (the villian) rethinking his actions, thinking if this was the right thing to do just for his son, then he realized this was hurting his son. (Minecraft ate his son)

We owe you a great debt for having made all of these beautiful scores. Without you AvM wouldn’t have hit as well as it had, and for that we all thank you, and I thank you myself.
Very glad this popped into my recommended or I would have forgotten to look it up. Amazing and fitting work as always!
The orchestral trap at 8:59 is actually amazing. I hope that one day, I can make music with a fraction of your skill and expertise someday
My favorite part is easily “A World Collapsing”. It sounds so beautiful, I don’t even know how to put it into words.
The emotions when Red is punching King fucking had me on the edge of my seat. Purples sacrifice made me wanna cry. King hugging Purple made me cry
i love how nobody talks about the sad cut off during one horrible moment
You rarely get to appreciate all of the music that gets put into AVM. The complexity of composition is astonishing when you look at it alone. It’s honestly incredible how you can convey emotions so powerfully through music. I’ve started composing relatively recently, and if I can make stuff half as good as this I’ll be happy.
adding music to the series was definitely a good choice. just imagine how awkward some scenes (eg. the death of kings son) would be without music.
love the music, making these scene so strong and emotional. Especially love the reference on note block universe.
Purple's part nearly made me cry in the video, and her theme from 29 playing as she fought against the king was heartbreaking
i just can't find words that are meaningful enough to express how amazing this music is, and how it gives life to the animation in a way nothing else could. Just incredible, it leaves me speechless. Youre a genious scott Buckley, a genious indeed.
As much as I loved the soundtrack for this episode, I really wanted a 2nd rendition of pigstep. The music during the final battle was epic on its own but just that callback to the last major battle with the king would've been amazing
I love that in some parts, the music reminds me of so much of "Interstellar"

Not only the theme but plus the fight with herobrine send chills down my spine with every thrill
Oh yes, I thought about you in the first place after watching final episode because I already liked some music pieces and I'm glad that I can hear it now. Perfect job, about 22 minutes of masterpiece, what a record! Congrats with making this animation very epic and dramatic!
P.S. I say about Herobrine battle theme. Absolutely Ultimately!
The music is, in my opinion, the most underrated aspect of the AvM series.
Mr. Buckley, you absolutely hit it out of the park with your scores.
"they took the one thing that i had, that made everything in my life worth it, SO.... i'll take everything they have that make the life of others worth it, and every single one will feel what i felt for so so long. This world started with a ONE FOR ALL, and in the same i'm going to end It with a ALL FOR ONE"
