What I find really cool about this is that it works really well whether or not it’s watched before or after the main vs Minecraft series. If it’s watched after the main vs minecraft series, it’s a neat nod to the staff’s first introduction and expands on what other blocks can do in an entertaining way - the stickmen first discovered the staff but thanks to the circumstances the viewers could only watch how it is used for taking down the bad guy, now that they’ve got downtime they can explore what it can do in detail alongside satisfying viewer curiosity. If it’s watched before the main vs minecraft series, to the watcher, they’re exploring a new item - a staff, and shows the watcher the purpose of the staff and what it does according to the chosen block in an entertaining way - which hypes the viewers up for what is to come when the staff is introduced in the main vs Minecraft series due to seeing lucky block staff ep beforehand. Also completely different note but I am genuinely in awe of when Red twirls the staff when he tests out the lucky block, the movements flow so well wtf
Imo it’s less filler and more… informative? In that yes, it’s self contained and you don’t need to watch it for the main series to make sense, but if you do, it expands a lot more on certain concepts that the main series brought up but didn’t explore much in depth, while also making callbacks to previous episodes and combining it together in interesting ways, which gives a good Easter egg bonus for the people who watch it. 6:39 MASTER COOKBOOK
That's why I love these animations, so much detail
I do wish that the ending fight scene was more like the “all at once” video, where basically you need to choose what to focus on, but it still ended up looking really good
19:00 thanks alan
I love how they use the baby villager as a bat good work Alan Becker team
One thing I think would’ve been cool was if they used the anvil one in the final battle by like, rocketing up to the top before combining it with the anvil and just like slamming through the entire thing
Heavyweight Staff Knockout
I like the getting over it reference with the villagers in a cauldron and the staff is his hammer
