Your version of this song is something very special because of your extraordinary voice. It has a similar, slightly melancholy charisma as the good dock itself. Thank you for the great performance and please keep it up. ;-)
Nicely done. That Deering Goodtime sounds good with Nylgut strings. I just switched my 12” Americana over to Nylgut because I like the sound of yours. Had to put a taller bridge on so I used an all maple one I had. I think it sounds better than maple with ebony on top.
@@roughhouserosie I like the Nylguts, but I need to learn to lighten my touch when playing clawhammer. The string tension is much less than what I’m used to. Two finger sounds great, but clawhammer needs a little work.
I'm using Aquila nylguts, the highest I go with the 5th is B flat. It also could have something to do with your instrument, I've noticed on my older/less great condition banjos the strings snap waaaay more easily
Wonderful! I notice you have a dark fourth string. I just tied on a set of Pisgah/Aquila nylgut strings and they have a dark fourth. I don't know that I would have noticed otherwise. Haha! So far, I think they are better than the LaBella 17s that I'm used to using for nylgut.
@@roughhouserosie I wonder. I really like these so far. Thanks, it's good to have another alternative to try out. Learning the banjo has really brought out the tinkerer in me. Ha!
@@roughhouserosie Thanks! I was trying to play along, and figured the 5th was up to A, but it almost sounded right in G too lol. Looks like a great capo, it looked like one of those expensive elliot capos at first
@@severinneukom Your English is great don't apologize haha. For the styles I play picks aren't common, they're more common in bluegrass, but some players of the styles I do used them in the past and do today. I personally prefer playing without.
It's nice when RUclips recommends a lil banjo music. Great playing :)
That's got to be the best modern version of a Doc Boggs song and banjo picking I've heard yet🙂
Thank you so much!

Wow, thank you so much! Boggs has to be one of my favorite artists so I really appreciate that.
Incredible rendition
That’s some mighty fine pickin’!
Thank you!
Love your bluesy voice - great stuff!
Thank you!
Excellent, do you ever smile?
Sounds great !!! My head exploded as I tried to figure out that voodoo trickery........how is she playing that nice music left-handed ....lol
Lol I'm not, just using my front camera on my phone. Thanks!!
what a beautiful voice along with some great banjo. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
I love "up drone" finger style. I think this much more done than drone ;).
?
holy crap, you nailed it. well done, well done :)
🙏
Fuck that’s good.

Thanks! How are you liking them? I recently switched to a maple bridge and like the combo.

Incredible 😊
Encore!!!
Just hours ago I was checking and wondering if you'd drop something anytime soon. Good listening to you!
Thank you!
what strings are you using? I tried with nylons and I couldn't tune the 5th to A because it ripped off... =(

@@roughhouserosie is it a shorter scale banjo?
Nope
@@roughhouserosie thank you so much!

Thank you! I use the Super Nylgut Aquila's. Wonder if the Pisgah Aquila's are the same 🤔

I feel that haha
Great picking, and I love your voice. Is your 5th string tuned to G or A? Is that an elliot capo?
Thank you! 5th string is tuned to A. As for the capo I apologize but I'm not sure, my friend gifted it to me. I think he got it off Elderly.

Nice playing! Is that an open back?
Thank you, it is! I got a new bridge that makes it sound a little more punchy as I've been doing more classical/ragtime banjo lately
I like it! And great to see different styles of playing Banjo. Sorry for my english, im from switzerland.. do you play also with picks?

Replayed it twice.
Thanks so much!

Very nice, y'ought get you some lil tambourines for your feet. The Mrs. got me some for Christmas and they go very nicely with some banjo.
Thank you! That sounds fun!!
