  • Django flying free after 8 seasons sitting in a Mew, picked him up from a Falconer that didnt have time for him, he was a bit Rough around the edges when i got him, after a good moult and a good Coping hes looking fresh , and keen to get going again, he had very little breast muscle and ZERO stamina, after a few weeks flying hard to the lure His power and style has got better every Day, having so much fun watching his flight style , A great little Character chasing Ravens and putting song birds under pressure with his fast agile flights 👍 only a matter of time until he gets his first catch 👍

    The best lurying video I've seen. Great footage, I can get the excitement as if I was the one lurying him. Great job. He looks very, very fit and ready for taking prey.

    Amazing work! One question, is this type of exercise used for the goshawks as well?

    • @tangostalons5807
      @tangostalons5807  Год назад +1

      Thank you , no i found the Goshawk will fly to the swing lure but not over and over again like a falcon, after one miss or Pass of the lure the Goshawk looses intrestet👍

      @@tangostalons5807 And what is the best method to strengthen a hawk in training in your opinion? thanks for the reply!

    • @tangostalons5807
      @tangostalons5807  Год назад +1

      @@C.Iradier for me getting out and flying as often as you can with the hawk get them chasing prey as much as possible they learn to try harder with every close miss. And on Rainy days i used the high jump method , so stand on a 6ft ladder and have the hawk right under you on a low perch like a bow perch then use a tiny bit of food to call them straight up Vertical , over and over again to build up explosive power , the hawk will need to work hard to fly straight up for the reward they will get tired quick but gain fitness over time , my harris and goshawk could easly fly 6 -10foot straight up aprox 50x times when fit... you can also add a light rope like the size of a washing line to the hawks jesses as they do this exercise this will add just enough extra weight to get the hawk to work even harder..... in the beginning dont exhaust the hawk , work up over a few days , start with 5x or 10x high jumps and always finish on a nice size reward for the hawk 👍👍

      @@tangostalons5807 Thank you very much for the answer and for explaining the exercise to me, I will put it into practice without a doubt. Next year I will acquire my goshawk, I am thinking of an Iberian goshawk, typical of my land. I subscribe to your channel and I will be waiting for the next videos!
