I think it would be fair to mention that the Kimber costs for $70 for 2 meters, and the Nordost sells for $1200 for 2 meters. In most states, you can buy the Kimber for less than the sales tax of the Nordost.
I'm not doubting that you know this, but did I miss this info posted for the video? I'd certainly like to see the specs on both cables that were compared. Thanks BTW, for the price and depending on the resolution of your system, this is a no-brainer.
I agree, although RUclips is the source for me, standing or sitting in front would obviously be better. Listening via klipsch head phones, he kimber cable truly had better separation. While the Nordost seemed higher db(volume) it was muddled together. The vocals would in your face with the nordost, and laid back with Kimber. But seriously stick with the Kimber cable!
They both sound good but I give the edge to the second, with more presence, especially in the drums and the upper-mids of the drums as well as the high freq. The test is obviously flawed because of playing thru RUclips, and the differences are nuanced (read: maybe my imagination) to my ears, but I hear "the room" a bit better with the second. (Nordost for those who are looking all over the comments for which is which). Too bad. They're way more expensive than Kimber.
Первое звучание более музыкальное, напевное. Второй вариант боле детальный, более атмосферный. Сказать что лучше не берусь. На вкус и цвет товарищей нет.
As RCA cable I use Kimber the KCAG with WBT-0110Ag connectors in 0.5 meters length. Hammer good they even replaced the umpteen times more expensive NBS Monitor II. This has surpassed all other cables so far.
@@ayc868 You'll never notice the difference. If it was a really long pair, you might. Either way, I would highly recommend you listen to a silver cable in your own system first. Also, if you like a silver in one application, between your source and preamp, for example, you might not like it somewhere else, like between an amp and preamp.
@@ayc868 It was a general comment on silver cables in general. I'm not saying all silver cables sound exactly the same, but they are prone to high frequency issues. That's why you always have to try a silver cable in the exact application before you buy it. Its very easy to hear. When silver is a good match, it sounds wonderful. When it doesn't, it sounds like the highs are singled out, or detached. Its hard to explain, but you'll know it when you hear it. In my own personal experience, I find that well designed solid core silver cables, like Audioquest, tend to be the most compatible, where stranded silver tends to less forgiving.

This video sold me on Nordost. After listening to the switch, I changed my speaker cables from Transparent Music Wave ultra to Nordost Heimdall.... and what a change 🍾👍🤩
Not familiar with this track but I've been disappointed with kimber speaker cables. Have compared the tc12 and carbon 8 to canare and chord epics. Chord has the most bloated bass(it's really obvious if you hear it in person), kimbers have tighter bass than chord but sound lifeless. Canare is the most balanced all rounder sounding and paired with furutech plugs they sound amazing for most genres. The kimbers still sound better for pianos though. Each cable has their own strengths but of there was one cable I would get among the 3, it would be the canare. Only tried the nordost blue heaven and it was already better than the kimber tc12 in almost all aspects, slightly outperforming the canare.
in my personal experience which cable is better .. depends on each set up... for example when i owned audio research ls26/vs115 paired with harbeths the best speaker cable was kimber.. with my vitus audio ri101 paired with marten oscar the best cable is cardas golden ref... and so on...
@@ayc868 I'm using Belden 8300 series for my power cord. Self made. 3 core silverplated copper, Teflon . 440V 16amp rating. Using it because of the good shielding, doesn't cost like bomb like other big brand. Drawback is higher resistance value than low gauge value of normal copper. But that you are talking about thousand km length. Personally MIT or Crystal cable. Crystal cable more because it is thinner and very good shield. Able to take high current. MIT has good filter but it can be too much. Other brand of copper cord I have not tried that much. Multi core twisted should be the way to go for copper. Shielding is a must.

The second is slightly more open. But like all these comparisons the system isn't good enough to reveal true differences.
Yes I heard it too. Nordost more smooth and airy. Just a tad more over computer crappy speakers.
