@@IsaiahsTrains On my walk home from school, (Gallagher Jr High, now the court house) If I saw the train I would have to sit and watch it before going home. I always loved trains. I did Amtrak from Worcester to Montana in 2017 (my only you-tube video) And it was awesome!
The rest of this line that goes into Fitchburg is becoming a rail trail . I can remember when penn central ran this line. Would have liked to see this line restored all the way to pan am . Never happen again,
CSX B724, begins work in Framngham at 9:30AM. It's work locations coming north are Framingham Center, Marlboro, Sterling and Leominster, MA with return. No connection or inter change. Running 5-days Mon. - Fri. Approximately 55 hours per week.
B724 comes on duty at 11 am Sunday through Thursday with an extra crew running it on Friday. Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday they work Sterling and Leominster while the other days they work Marlboro.
Question Why did the Railroad Stop using the Line and Was it under a different Railroad then and if so what was the Name of that Railroad Thank You Awesome Video
@@IsaiahsTrains the businesses they served either closed , or moved away (foster grant , for one) so there was no longer a need to go all the way into Fitchburg .
Is there a connection in Leominster to the P&W or Pan AM where this freight could go to? Seems like a long way from Framingham to Leominster to be logically prosperous for CSX. Just a thought....
There isn't a connection with another railroad, but there are two profitable businesses that CSX serves a few times a week in Leominster that make it worth their while.
It's good to see traffic increasing on this line
Excellent. Thanks!
Thank you!
I grew up in Leominster and remember when the trains ran to Fitchburg.
I wish I got to see that!

Their trains seem to be a bit longer than they used to be . A few years ago , this line was on life support .
For sure! Another company (Leominster Packaging & Warehousing) just got a grant to build a new siding in Leominster as well.
@@IsaiahsTrains sweet !
@@IsaiahsTrains I think it's a trash facility. Instead of trucking it out it goes out by rail .

The line stayed under the same ownership, it was only the yard that went out of service for a while because of bad ties.
