Crank up the downforce to max. Teams run max or close to max at BCN. It's an aero track, therefore it requires a heck of a lot of DF. Plus the repaving, which added about 1.6 seconds.
I'd say 2 seconds max tbh, if that. Pole time was 3 seconds quicker than last year, but this year's cars should theoretically be faster anyway and they were also using softer tyres (super softs vs softs used last year).
Even with my best efforts, high 1:16's for me on the hypersofts. The track resurfacing made a huge difference this year. Pole lap between last year and this year was just insane... I hope someone makes a mod soon for the resurfaced version of this track, I didn't even post a lap on this circuit for the 2018 car because of sheer frustration :(
You also have to consider the fact that Hamilton made 3 set up changes during the lap (watch the steering wheel on the video) where you don't seem to have that capability
My fastest was 1:26:-. Absolutely rediculous how fast these guys are. And we're using sims so we don't have to worry we die so we can go all out and even then. Just amazing

Brake a bit less through the first Set of corners and overall througout the track. If you notice, the car naturally slows down through the high speed corners due to G force. Dab of brake to get the car turned then let the tires load up so you carry a bit more momentum..

I think he should have put more downforce on that car. In real life Hamilton did T9 at 262 minimum kmph on the other hand Jimmy did it at 232 kmph I think he could get close with more downforce and if he pushed harder on the last corner before starting the lap. Jimmy, you've been #Blessed!
The Stock Market Investor its because he's using VR. When recording through a VR headset, it only records the left eye, as recording both wouldn't translate well at all onto a normal screen for us to watch. That's why he looks off centre
I never use 2nd gear in Spain bro, last sector, i think its turn 12, the long right, its 4rd, the entry on the chicane its 4, u only put 3rd braking into the left corner of the chicane, leave the chicane in 3rd. NEVER PUT 1st or 2nd GEAR
Turn 3 was flat this year and turn 9 was very nearly flat. So maybe that’s because of the new track surface or maybe the physics on this car are not completely accurate. Pole in 2017 was a 1:19.1 and I don’t doubt your abilities. So blame it on the cars physics in this game :D

This track is really slow In Assetto Corsa, it's the only track I cannot get close to the real life lap times in equal cars.. just something about the track/cars there makes it so you cannot match the times, while on almost any other track the difference is not nearly as huge.
TheTripol your right there is something up with this track. Although with the SF15H i managed to be withing 0.050 of vettels pole time that year. These new area f1 cars in assetto are just not aqqurate enough
...1_17 is real using this car but 1_16 is impossible with this mod xD Maybe you are running too much downforce or MGU is not set up right...the top speed can reach almost 330 kph on the main straight!

Track resurfacing and the supersofts from last year being the softs for this year should give you about 3 seconds or so

Is the scaling of the track correct? You could drive it at a set speed, calculate its actual length and compare it to the published length.

F1 turbos dont need to spool up, an electric engine keeps it up to speed at all times when off throttle.

If you put the hybrid recovery to Motor instead of Battery I think that helps a bit with the turbo lag but you wont recover as much hybrid power.

Tyres are a step softer than last year, and the track has new asphalt, that is probably most of your time difference
