    This is great advise for newer players. Only caveat I would add is to take the Destroy Contraband mission. It is similar to the missions he showcased here, except you have to destroy a bunch of drugs in the bunker. Keep an eye out for Maze and Grasping Weavil Eggs, put those to the side and destroy as much drugs as you need to complete the mission. You go sell those drugs for a tidy 300kish per mission, and the missions only take about 20-30 minutes to complete.

    • @taldarsin
      @taldarsin 26 дней назад +4

      There are a couple more tips needed for taking care selling those. Like scouting the salvage yards for hostile players or recognizing if the freight elevator is up or down. But it is definitely worth the time. Hitting settlements like Rappel for the Evict occupants and gathering up all the grenades can help. Throw the unwanted drugs in a corner and pop a grenade to get a chunk at a time.

    • @theyngprince
      @theyngprince  26 дней назад +1

      There were problems selling drugs for so long I haven't tried this yet. I'd say the knowledge needed for the contraband missions puts it closer to mid-game, and you might need more space than half the starter ships provide. I definitely pushed the 100i to its limits.

    • @bumbleb97
      @bumbleb97 25 дней назад

      I don't think you can complete the mission and take some of the drugs with you. The mission is to destroy ALL of the drugs, not MOST of the drugs. If you take the more valuable drugs with you, you're essentially forfeiting the mission reward and whatever rep you would get from completing it.
      If there is a way to do both, I'm simply not aware of it.

    Excellent vid. One of the better ones I've watched on the starter ship discussion. The best advice here is about not giving Chris Roberts more of your hard earned money. Don't get pulled into the rabbit hole of promises and ship stats only to regret it (like I do). Here are the starter ships I recommend to new players looking to get the most out of their money...
    $60 Price point - Crusader Intrepid. This thing is FULLY LOADED, sure it can't fit a vehicle and its got a single S4 weapon and 2x S1 missiles but it has everything you need to do long term survival stuff, plus its great for bunker raids, easy to fly, and at $60 is on par with the price of a AAA game.
    Now as for the Avenger Titan, this is also an equally good choice however its in dire need of an overhaul as its a very old design, still quite capable, but old. Going with either the Intrepid or Avenger Titan is a solid move for the money.
    $80 price point - Consolidated Outland (CNOU) Nomad. This IMHO is by far the best Sub $100 ship in the verse, and is the best starter overall. It's got a very large cargo grid at the rear for its size, can actually transport a ROC for lucrative surface mining ops, has decent combat ability with 3x S3 weapon hard points and 8x S2 missiles as well as decent shielding, a good Radar Cross Section, and its maneuverability even it Atmosphere is deceptively good. Interior wise it has just about everything you will ever need to survive, if they ever do an update to the ship it just needs a shower in the bathroom and its perfection. I am not joking the Nomad is 99% perfection when it comes to starter ships, its that good and its the ship I recommend to all new players, the landing gear can be a bit off putting but it actually makes it easier to land as it uses Xi'an hover tech, and the view from the flightdeck makes flying and landing a breeze.

      @@theyngprince I used the Aurora for a little while but i got in to SC pretty early in 2018 so there were not a plethora of ships available at the time. There was no real cargo mechanic available either however, some ships like the Titan or the Cutlass had a bay type of cargo area that functioned better but the majority of the cargo grids that we know now didn't come till later. It was still pretty fresh even though it had been out a little while. CGI was pushing out modules but everything was so buggy it was tough to play. I remember flying around Levski, Grim Hex and the planets around crusader. Hurston and Micro Tech weren't around neither were most space stations. Goofing around the verse for me was really just exploration and geeking out on the visual graphics of the game (That was really what the Aurora was for). At that time we all spawned at Port Olisar before it was removed (Now Seraphim Station) and people just sort of messed with each other, crashing ships into the landing pads and shooting at each other. It was pretty lawless. I eventually bought a Cutlass Black and moved on from the Aurora. My game package is now a sweet little Cutter Rambler which I find suits me well especially with the addition of my new Mirai Pulse.

    SC veteran checking in..
    Good video! I have spent a lot of time in starter ships, and have come to a somewhat objective opinion.
    The Avenger Titan is hands down the best starter ship under $75. Here's why... (Edit, I made a mistake. It costs more than $75 because of the game package. I upgraded to the titan from my cutter, so I forgot to factor that in.)
    Speed: 1250 m/s in space. Great SCM speed in atmosphere as well. By far the fastest starter.
    Maneuvering: One of the best, if not THE best handling ship I've flown. And I've flown a lot.
    Cargo: Tied for first place with the Crusader Intrepid, but outclasses that ship in every other way.
    Weapons: S4 gimballed nose turret and 2x S3 gimballed wing turrets. Also 2x S2 missles per wing (4 total). I like to use Rattler II missles, but the choice is yours.
    And you can bedlog in it.
    This ship is slept on a lot. Once you follow this video's guide to put some cash in your pocket, you can start upgrading your weapons loadout and go start making some REAL money. I have personally done up to VHRTs by myself with this ship, and with 1 or 2 more players to help, it can handle ERTs. And it can fit into --some-- caves to do those missions. Just be careful.
    Beyond that, everything in the video is pretty spot on. Watch out for the turrets at bunkers and distro centers. They have around 1 2km range, so be careful.
    Some more things you can do:
    Distribution centers...you can either go in hot and just kill everything there or you can accept cargo hauling missions to or from there if you want to just walk around and loot boxes without worrying about getting shot at. There are a few non-hostile DCs you can go into without worrying about getting shot at. Lots of good loot in them. If you want to go balls out and weapons hot, check out Dupree on Hurston. It's a very target rich environment.
    Mining Outposts...Mining outposts on planets and moons are in armistice zones, so are great places to check out and scavenge. Protip- Check the grey and red loot crates and look specifically for the Novikov Ascension helmet. hose are 5k - 10k each when you sell them. You can also take cargo missions to and from them and restock, repair and refuel.
    Crusader... Fly out to the Crusader platforms at Empyrean Park, Cloudrest Retreat and Prospect Point. They are open PVP zones, but nobody really goes there unless there is an event running. When you go to these places, fly around the platforms until you see the ones that look like a warzone. There is so much loot there, you'll need to make trips to dump the loot off and return. Bring 1 or 2 SCU boxes and tractor beam them around with you. Trust me, you'll need them.
    This should get you well on your way to making a good bit of money.
    See you in the verse.
    o7

But it's going to be hell of a challenge to do in a starter fighter (i.e. Titan) as turrets are able to break Connie's shields very very fast (You can redirect shield strength to front shields to deal with turrets more easily)

You may occasionally find one that pays a bounty, but if you monitor your payouts closely you'll note that the vast majority of your kills, while doing bunker missions etc, will not give you ACTA rewards.

      Using the Multitool the boxes snap in place, don't bounce around when ramp goes up/down, and had no issues being removed from the ramp. I’ll believe it when I see it because I struggle to make even 100k an hour that’s doing cargo as I suppose it’s the most profitable but with manual loading and loading it takes over an hour to do a full freelancer max run as it’s the only cargo ship I can currently afford to fill and it makes just over 100k in 1 run in about a hour

    why I bought an Aurora: Because when I bought in, in 2018, I started with a Mustang, before the rework. You would enter the Mustang at the time through a hole in the bottom. you could not bring any package on board. and cargo was a magic number. you could carry up to 4 SCU, but not see it on the ship.
    and it sucked bad.
    so I bought an Aurora. hoping to do box missions. but you kind of had to open the door, through the box at the door a dozen times, and if you were lucky, you might land the box inside.
    I still thought the game sucked. and eventually melted the aurora and used the credit to CCU the mustang to a Titan. only then did game start to be fun.
    But THAT is why I bought the Aurora.
    eventually they fixed the aurora to the point where you could carry a box on board. and so I bought an Aurora LN, which is a not bad little fighter that could do box missions. Eventually I CCUed out of that too.
    I guess, however, it depends on the patch, and the level of development as to why to have an Aurora.
    And to be honest. while my main account is a Space Marshall, and has a Titan, Intrepid, 100I, 125A, 2 Pisces and a Nomad as starter ships, as well as a whole fleet of bigger ships. my ALT account has an Aurora LN, a Mustang Alpha and a Mirai Pulse.

    atm id say an even easier way is to do bounties and you can train space combat in arena commander for a bit if you dont want to instantly join in on it
    you cant get fucked by random bugs with loosing much money from loosing gear (besides tractor which is cheap af to begin with) and before 4.0 you probably can still come across weevil besides quantanium and bexalite etc. also weirdly enough a lot of 325as i came across had random 1-2 scu weevil with them idk why they just had it even in lower end missions so essentially with luck easily above 300k per hour even with lower end stuff to find like gold tho it obviously requires something with more then 2 s1 guns unless you are already an somewhat good pilot

    How to make money requiring a bigger ship if you only have a starter ship: Just take whatever abandoned ship you see laying around, this lets you try out all kinds of ships and is more or less free. Ignore the trespassing warning, just treat the ship like you own it (AFTER you unlock all doors either through inner thought wheel or a keybind you can set). The only caveat is you can't store it, but you *can* keep it in your hangar at your home city when you log out as long as you don't store it, you can't use stolen mining ships (can't sell at the refinery), and you can only sell RMC from stolen salvaging ships as stolen goods at places like grimhex.

      I feel like it's 50/50 whether a "borrowed" ship will start for me once I'm in the pilot seat. Not sure if something specific causes that. Bunkers might shoot you as a trespasser if you do stay on those ships too long, so stay aware.
