- Here is my favourite truck. The 1986 Ford F250 Lariat with the 460 big block V8. I love this truck and particularly wanted this colour combo. It is how I would have ordered one in 1986 if I was buying then. It is an all original Californian truck with around 70,000 miles. Mine too. 😀👍
A very nice Ute - er, truck! So well equipped - love to see this on the road
Thanks Rohan. HNY!
Great looking truck Mark. My dad had an 85 when I was a kid, wish he never sold it. It was the first vehicle I ever drove, I was 8 years old. Now I'm looking for one for myself
Thanks very much Jacob. They are great trucks and I hope you find one soon for yourself. Please subscribe and check out all the other videos on the channel. 👍
Awesome truck Mark - I'd love similar unit. BTW Marc I mowed my lawn this afternoon so I feel your pain. I might add my automotive excitement soon.
Thanks David. Great to hear from you. HNY. I hope you are well. All the best and thanks for supporting the channel.
Love that truck . Keep the videos coming
Thanks Gerard. Me too. It’s a beauty.
How cool is this? There's something about a genuine Left Hand drive truck - it's 100% American and you can't beat that in my opinion. As far as the options go - you might as well have had an LTD...it's just like an LTD isn't it? but a truck. Speaking of LTD, little things like the interior roof light including the two map lights, was the same light assembly as received here in our Australian LTD sedans. Also the steering wheel synonymous with Lincoln. I like how the manufacturers "shared" various parts across their ranges, and of course it made sense to do that.
Love the color combo here Mark, again, it screams country America all day long, and the 460 is a great score as well, down as the "torquey-est" truck for 1980 in petrol out of the big three. There's something about an F Truck - the worlds largest seller of a vehicle of that class. The Detroit with Fletch, I host every August, includes a tour of the Rouge Plant in Dearborn (adjacent to the Henry Ford Museum) watching the F Trucks being assembled, and it's always a hit with the tour guests. It was obvious this truck has been looked after and well kept. The aluminium checker-plate capping around the top of the rear tub shows that, so the odd ladder or stick of timber over the side causes no problem...with these trucks, that's the 1st area for damage usually, ouch !
Beautiful truck Mark, really like this, and the 2 fuel tanks also reinforces this tough unit for how it stands. For 1986, it's a tough unit, best of both worlds with its appointments. Cool truck 👍👍
Thanks Fletch. It is a bit like an LTD truck as you say and I agree, the colour combination says mid west USA doesn’t it. I really do love this truck. Thanks for the great comments.
@@markbehr88 You're very welcome Mark. Keep up your great efforts here.
At 2:17 you will seethe original hub cap on the right hand side.
Nice truck Mark
Thanks very much Russell.
Nice looking truck Mark, steering wheels on the wrong side tho 😁. Interesting point about the ABS. I always thought Mercedes were the first ones to bring out ABS in the 50s or 60s can’t quite remember.
Just goes to show you never too old to learn something new. :-)
Thanks. I actually don’t really notice the left hand or right hand drive aspect much these days. I jump in whatever and drive it. Maybe Mercedes and others did work on ABS bus it was taken from the aircraft industry and put into production as rear wheel anti lock (Sure Track) by Lincoln in 1968 for the 69 Mark III and 4 wheel anti lock as an option on the 71 Imperial. Cool stuff.
A very nice example of the breed, in that two-tone colour combo with a monster 460 under the bonnet…sorry, that should be ‘hood’ right?
Thanks Mark. I do love it.
Hi
Very nice truck I have bought the same truck last week and all vacum cabels are Not connected or wrong connected and I dont find pictures That I can make them all right. Can you or anybody help me with my Problem ?
Greats from Germany
Hi. I would make sure you buy the factory workshop and parts manuals. Big, thick books with all the info. Good luck. 👍
Were these sold in Australia?
I can't imagine them having those options though!!
Like your videos as always! :)
Hi Ivano. Thanks. They were but with far fewer options. I think the 351 and later the fuel injected 5 litre were available. Thanks again.
Awesome truck!! MAGA 2024!!!
Thanks 👍👍🇺🇸
