Hey brother, thanks for another great garage video.. I have watched pretty much all your videos at this point... Do you think it's necessary to buy the spring for the secondary? I did buy the trail clutch kit from MSC powersports which as you know only includes the primary and Helix. Installing the secondary spring,, do you think it makes a viable difference or not?. Currently, I have 32-in ATV warriors. Great tire but they are on the heavy side. What do you think?. Thanks in advance brother.

      Thanks for watching.
Until I get out and ride this, I'm not gonna have a concrete answer. BUT, from what I understand the rock clutch does make a huge difference in bottom end. Not sure if you noticed when I was doing the helix comparison, they are totally different and the secondary spring is really stiff. I think it's gonna cut the top some and feed the bottom.
Not sure how you ride but if it's aggressive or like us here then get the rock clutch if it's just trails, keep what you have.
I needed total power on the bottom.
As for the 32" tires, the trail clutch is more than adequate. JMO.

Hey I just wanted to check up and see how things are going with the clutch kit and the Gates belt. I'm ready to try out the "Trail" clutch kit. Did you get it from MSC or do you have a better source? And I guess I'll have to buy the big clutch spring compression tool similar to the one you made. I cant believe it-- I just opened the tool kit in the glove box that I had assumed had a spreader bolt to change belts in the field.... Nothing of the sort. In fact, it has no 10mm wrench for the belt cover. Other than the shock adjustment wrench, the kit is useless. I just checked the belt because I had been getting some nasty snap-chatter when it dropped into freewheel mode as if something was sticking. I see a little powdered rubber dust but its clean otherwise. I guess I just had heated the belt up enough to get super sticky on the long road trip. I dont know how these CVTs work so its hard to diagnose a clacking sound when everything looks good in there.

@@herbf2700 Hey Herb, I didn't like the trail kit and I got rid of it. MSC is who I'd get it from OR reach out to Vauhti Varikko and he's working on alternative clutch kits. He will work with you and set you up with your style of tuning.
The 47R4368 is a great belt and I've had no problems with it. Just an FYI, power sports calibrations has some new tunes coming and I'd hold off until you see what they have before purchasing any yet.

@@sxsoutcast7651 Well. Varikko's web page doesn't mention Segway at all. Nor does the contact email work (I use gmail, not old fashioned 1990s popserver stand-alone apps like the page is trying to access before it'll even show an address). I was going to ask what the trail clutch is supposed to do. Its obvious the mud clutch is for rock crawlers like you, but I'm more of a traveler with only short sections of tricky stuff if any. I'm assuming it changes rpms for certain speeds. Like, why am I at 6,000 rpm just to cruise smoothly at 30? Seems a bit high to me. As for the tune, well, I have one of the very first MSC tunes and have a 'credit' to get it re-flashed if they come up with a new tune later since it took a couple weeks to get sent back to me. I do think they're working on a new tune for the Villain, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled. I havent heard of Power Sports Calibrations. I'll watch your channel to see if you mention it in the future.

@@herbf2700 Powersports calibrations is who MSC used to get their tunes from. Sercap. MSC is promising a new tune and you and I got the first 2 tunes and had to wait for weeks to get our ECU back. I'm not bashing MSC, period. Love Steve Crane and what he does for the industry but when getting a tune from power Powersports calibrations, they email it to you and you install it and keep whatever tune or tunes they've already sent. So if you want something with better low end and it's your only want, they'll make that too and you keep all tunes you've purchased. Double D
doubledcustoms.com/ does the same tune as Powersports calibrations. Reach out to them and just see what's up. Vauhti Varikko is on Facebook.
