Fit Ashcrofts ATB diff LT230 Rebuild and up-rate transfer box, make centre bearing carrier for the 8HP to LT230 adaptor, re-position engine and gearbox amongst other odd jobs.

Great Work. Really enjoy these longer format videos and great to show how much effort and work goes into all this. Without giving away some of your secrets it would be good to see you tuning and setting it all up when you get to that stage.

Aerospace level engineering on a landie🤩. I fitted a Ashcroft ATB a couple of years ago, really pleased with it, and Ashcrofts were dead helpful with advice too.

how about drilling the case out and putting eccentric bushes in might be easier on the long run. fantastic idea to put the extra bearing in anyhow coz the torque you are going to put through that shaft will distort it. hope the transfer casing can take the power though ....

Yea that’s not a bad idea that mate 👍 it’s all good at the mo though but if I ever take the transfer box out in the future I’ll do it then, the dowels have located it perfect and it’s well secured for now 😁 we’ll see how the casing gets on when receiving a load of power in the near future 🤞 cheers mate 👍👍

Brilliant video! Question about adapter holes. Am I right that there is misalignment on the Synchrogearboxes adapter? I ask because I have the same problem with the GS6 manual adapter - if both guides fit correctly, it results in multiple holes that are impossible to insert bolts into. I assume the reason for your modification of the guide bushing at 1:26:08 is the same. Maybe I should do the same?

Thanks mate 😁👍 First of all I’m not doubting Synchrogearboxs build quality at all as it’s of a very high standard and I’m really happy with all that I’ve purchased from them and are a great company.
I think it’s more that on most of these adaptations (even from other companies) the lower locating dowel and bolt aren’t used so it’s difficult to rely on the bolts and locator tube to precisely centralise the transfer box to the adapter, normally this isn’t much of a problem but in my case I chose to fit a centre bearing which centralised the shaft precisely hence my own locator dowels. 👍 hope this helps mate 😁 cheers

Great work mate, well done. Surprised to see that you didn't use retaing compound on that bearing and its bearer though. Did you feel it wont need it?

Thanks mate 😃 yea I did think of using Loctite on the bearing but it’s held in quite well with the pressure of the transfer box, it’s just the shaft that could be a problem but hopefully should be ok 🤞 cheers 👍👍
