Love it! Trails looked like a lot of fun!
It was a good time. Country roads trail is great to ride with and I'm sure we'll go again soon.
I once went out on a road trip with the British Car Club in my little Lotus Super Se7en. After 2 hours of driving I went to fill up and hadn't even used 2 gallons. I was shocked but realized that I'd never driven so far so SLOW before, so I'd never taken advantage of the light weight without having to push through so much wind. I bet you had the same experience... Suddenly your Segway gets 20mpg instead of 10mgp like usual just because you're going with a long train of slow machines. I loved that river rock boulder field. You're right, its a great test of the suspension on any machine. Not sure I'd want to stop with all those other ATVs on the flimsy bridge at the same time like that.
@@herbf2700 The bridge was so flimsy. It makes me pucker with all the others on it and it would shake so bad. The gas mileage was surprisingly ok for what we did. I like harder rides but this was a good change of pace.
Did you find a belt that works for you. Im running the Rock / Mud clutch on a stock belt on Super ATV Stickies 34x10x14 tires. just wondering if there is a better option for a belt. The stock is still slipping at times.
@@brianverson3955 47R4368 Gates redline
I'm impressed with that climb out of the river onto the sand bank. Now, my suggestion is that you make sure all the water is drained out of the trailing-arm tubes. I've sprayed some special Eastwood paint in there (has a long tube and a radial sprayer at the end. $40 on amazon) to help kill any rust problems. Those caps they put on the end arent going to keep water out if you're submerging it, but will keep it in and it'll never dry out in your climate. I think its one of the very few issues with the Villain.
I hate the set up they did. When I haul my unit the rusty water pours out onto my trailer.
@@sxsoutcast7651 Plus, the bottom tube can get bashed pretty good on rocks. I'd like to see a nylon half-pipe attached along that bottom edge. Of course we're nit picking. Hey I'm looking into wheels. Do you know the bolt pattern and offset for the stock wheels?
@@herbf2700 4×110 and yes, the trail arms need some beef..
@@sxsoutcast7651 Hey, I just noticed the Shock Therapy radius rods are on sale bigtime right now. I'm going to get them. The way you drive, might be a good idea for you, too.
@@herbf2700 I know. Wifey says I'm too hard on these units and I'm beginning to wonder if she's right. If this one tanks, I think I'll hang up my helmet and trade it in for a stroller. 😂
Guys, ignore the 9 seconds of dead video at 4:39. Lol.
did you have to get a tune or did the unit run fine after the install?
@@JimmyProvost-ge7jh the unit ran fine. The issue was the 2021 units had major issues and it blew the engine. It ran really good when it was running.

Ever heard of that new age invention called a chainsaw?🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 Keep up the good work brother!! Love it!!
@@kiltnoffroad thanks Bullet..
Great video man! I have a question, at 1:45 when you are going down the hill and you hear the clutch sound clanging, is that normal? I have the same machine and switched back to stock clutch and I still get that same sound. Can't say I noticed it before but it may have always done that. I don't notice any performance issues. Thanks
@@ralphb.rascon3313 my winch cable/head was out a little. I do that all the time.
@@sxsoutcast7651 That's weird because that EXACT same sound in the same situation I get from my clutch area like in video. I thought it might be something with the primary free spinning and the belt engaging/disengaging while gaining speed down hill not under throttle. I can't figure it out. I'd be curious if you would pay attention and see on your next ride if you hear something.
@@ralphb.rascon3313 I thought the same thing in the beginning. Never let the clutch free wheel in high speed. It will detonate it..
@@sxsoutcast7651 Where I ride is very similar terrain so going down rocky terrain usually about the same speed you were. I'm starting to think it's "normal". I have no engagement issues or belt slip or anything. On a side note how you liking that rock crawl clutch kit? I have the same trail one you did but like I said I switched back to stock for now.
@@ralphb.rascon3313 The stock clutch will give you a better top end IMO. The rock clutch will give you a better bottom end. I'm gonna switch back to stock soon the see how it feels with this new belt.
The Villain is the wrong vehicle for this route. I've got an innovative vehicle that could do it, and do it at twice the speed you guys were going in this video. It can go between or over obstacles in ways the ATV world could only dream of. Its fuel efficient and reliable. If you're interested in purchasing this technology for only half the price of your Segway, let me know. I call this vehicle the "Galoshes 3000"
@@herbf2700 Galoshes 3000? Lol.
Looks like a great time buddy. Yes my villain loses to decent control if I go too slow, I just have to blip the throttle and it reengages to slow it down. Also did you hear about the new gen warranty? It states lifetime transmission/ engine replacement. Does not cover axles differential etc... Have you heard about this? If so, I wonder if our machines would be part of that new warranty?mmmmm
That would be awesome. I won't hold my breath tho. The trails we ride are always a good time and being almost 59 I'm not sure how much longer I'm gonna be doing it but I'm enjoying it now.
Strange you would mention that you lose power when spinning. I have a 2022 Ho ex I have not noticed that issue. I finally hit 100miles and cant really complain as of now. for the money get what we pay for. when it come right down to it. when they are all broken down they are all a pile of crap. its really got to do with maintenence and upkeep

Nice review. Thanks. I have a 2023 WX. I don't rock crawl. I'm not an extreme rider. Just mountain trails and old logging roads here in Idaho. Love the machine so far. I happened to connect with the Segway rep and he told me (unsolicited) that if the machine blows smoke, which mine does not, avoid filling the oil to the full line of the dipstick. Leave it in the middle. No explanation or rationale.
Idaho, logging roads? I'm sure you have some spicy trails there. Lol. Thank you for watching. I appreciate it. Mine did blow a little smoke when I first got it but I wasn't too awfully worried.
@@sxsoutcast7651 Yep. We just enjoy cruising the back roads and trails and enjoying the beauty. As a geezer, I'm not into rock crawling or beating the shit out of my machine. I'll leave that to you younger guys.

Love seeing the Wildcat!!
I try to take him with me every time I ride, lol. Honestly, he's been pretty dang hard on it and it keeps on ticking. Good machine.
Engine Braking… same on my machine. When RPMs get low the clutch releases and away you go. I just tap the gas to reengage the engine brake. Also watching your videos I’ve determined you’re partially insane. Which qualifies you to ride with us. We all need to get together and make a video in the Ozarks 👍
Low gear has better control over this.
Yes it does. On my machine doesn’t really work in high gear. The best engine braking machine was my ZForce 950 2022
@@whiskey60 couldn't agree more. It was good for that.
Man, this is what its all about. brothers talking about whatever on the trails...
So for higher speed and lower rpm,, one would change the weights too heavyer,? I need lower rpm when i drive on roads.
Stay with a stock setup. Lower rpm and faster overall.
Thanks! We need more research and ideas like this. As for me, I got a little OEM hot-belt stink when I was driving 35mph in "high" on twisty turns so I was on it and then off it over and over. It made me wonder-- There's of course a 'correct' way to drive when you have a CVT. I heard these belts like to be engaged rather than feathered, but perhaps I'm wrong about that when it comes to trail driving vs rock crawling. Does anyone know the ultimate rules for driving style and making belts last?
I'm far from an expert but if you're gonna feather the belt then you need heavier weights to allow the belt to have better engagement. 54.7 or 57.0 weights are good as well. The difference in the belts I'm using is the material they are made from. The redline is less likely to stretch than the OEM. I'm only on this belt for this trip and when I get home I'm gonna take it apart and verify all my work again. Shifting is another big issue. Don't adjust the linkage. Trust me, it's the belt from my data and visuals. The 1mm difference made a world of difference. Thanks for watching. 🙏
This belt worked really good and I recommend it for my Segway and I think you will like it too.
Did u figure out that oil leak in the clutch cover mine has that I would like any info on how to fix it if anybody know thanks ?

Hi from MD
You're in. Thanks for the sub!!
Have you ever tried the one from super atv for rocks and trails it’s only $160.00
I actually called gates about this belt and they told me it's for the pre-2023 model. But to answer you, no I haven't.
We Hope to ride with you someday
That would be nice.
Holey smokes. 350$. Can you get me the belt numbers for the OE? I will get it cheaper for You guys just like I did with the CFMOTO belts. Some CFMOTO belts I was able to get over 100$ cheaper for everyone. And others 50-80$ cheaper. Oem belts are usually always the way to go but I feel ya 350 yikes. 😬.
I've reached out to gates and a few others and they Do not have anything to match. So I've found 1 in particular that is cheaper that I'm gonna do some testing on next week with different configurations of weights ECT to hopefully figure something out. E02E10001002
It’s crazy my Polaris belt was 139 dollars from the Polaris dealer
OEM is definitely $350.00 USD $425.00 CAN.
Wow $350 better have a 10 year generaty
Nope. Stock clutch and careful driving it could last. Not 10 years.
@@sxsoutcast7651 I have a 2018 zforce 500 trail and I've not had to change mine yet.....thank God .....thinking about getting ut10p crew
Last summer when I bought my 2023 Villain, I bought a spare belt at Ride Now in Vegas for $260. They mentioned $180 at first but that is probably more like their own price. And you know Ride Now is not going to give you any breaks in price on anything. So either you have a money hungry source for your belt, or the belts actually have gone up by 80 bucks this year. I look forward to your research on this other belt. It does look like a pretty good alternative. IMO the thickness of the non-corrigated part of the belt is going to be more important than overall thickness. Alternatively, someone could try to track down the source of the stock belts in China-- They're mercenary over there and would totally let us make a bulk purchase of 'unmarked' belts :)
425.00 Canadian $350.00 USD That's for a 2023-2024 belt. Super ATV doesn't make a belt for the 23+. Gates doesn't make one by name either for the 23+. I found an alternate but I gotta test it first. But it's $235.00. No win situation.
Love the videos! The cage and doors turned out sweet!
