- Protesters have camped outside Government House in Melbourne after the passing of the state's controversial pandemic powers bill.
Protesters are demanding to see the Governor, with the aim to stop the legislation.
After spending weeks on the steps outside Victoria's parliament, protesters say they were moved on by police.
The pandemic bill passed on Thursday 20 votes to 18.
It’s time for people to plan the appropriate response to it. How about stop working for this government? Reject the government.

The Premier can call a pandemic without the need of any epidemiological science advice from a Chief Health Officer. The Premier then directs the Health Minister to enact laws to manage a pandemic. What stops the Premier becoming the Health Minister, thereby doing away with at least 1 position that may push back? What happens if the Health Minister disagrees with the Premier? What are these health powers they talk of? Was the science advice from the CHO not worth trusting, the Premier advised that we should trust it? Is the CHO who's on a great salary, commensurate to this authority get a massive pay cut as the positions authority is now redundant? Did the Premier study science in his 6 years at Monash to understand the complexity of pandemic science, does seem complex with a lot of interpretation? Should only Epidemiologists get to be Premiers? In a Democracy, I do think what was required to get you to change your mind be made available- what did you get in return and what did you ask to be changed and what didn't you get changed but you just accepted? As a Politician, you are paid not by Government, but by Tax Payers, I should know what you are doing. The Lower House approved the original Bill, was it wrong for them to do so, why did they accept it in its original form that it needed so much change and how can they claim they represent their constituents?
