In May of 2011, Rob O’Neill and a group of America’s most experienced Navy SEALS embarked on Operation Neptune Spear. After giving the go ahead from Obama and the U.S. Military, the team flew to Pakistan where Bin Laden was hiding out in a highly secured compound. What happened next would change history forever and etch O’Neill into the history books as the man who put Bin Laden six feet under.
Watch as O’Neill sits down with Joe to discuss his incredible life story where he went from an unassuming kid from Montana to becoming one of the government’s most skilled assassins. Rob shares his experiences training as a SEAL, how it impacted his family life, the phenomenal missions he completed, and the psychological toll it took on him. Rob gives us full vulnerability as he shares his story of life, loss, and unrelenting drive to push past fear and towards victory.
This is the first installment of Humans, a new talk series where Joe interviews some of the most unique people in the world to shed light on their one in a million experiences. This is a big step away from the music industry and away from Joe Budden’s typical demographic. Humans aims to show viewers people with unbelievable stories that only they could live through.

But since we gang gang it's okay. These young black men are being attacked by Media outlets and completely mindfucked by our own culture and are completely oblivious to opportunities such as being a Vet and actually serving instead of killing other black men in the same city. But yet you take time out of your day ta leave a BS comment on RUclips towards a sincere and positive comment. IDC what you say, he deserves that as someone who served this country. You may not wanna hear it, but that doesn't mean he shouldn't hear it and it's Positive. So fuck off bruh....

I am actually grateful there are people like the OP who go out of their way to say thank you, I certainly don't deserve it but the people who do arent around to hear it. Just remember, it wasnt long ago that guys coming home from Vietnam had to change out of their uniforms ASAP so they would not get spit on. Now days I don't wear my stuff to avoid thank you's I don't deserve - that's a good problem to have

And that really grounded me. Like those people are just like us they just speak a different language and live in a different country. Same world though. Like yes earth is huge but it’s one of the smaller planets in this solar system and we just can’t get away from alienating different groups of humans. Just made me have a deep moment of thought at 1 am that night. P.S. it was way out in the middle of the ocean so throwing trash over the side is “legal” under maritime law

Don't let Rob's humility and folksy "Aww shucks..." country boy demeanor fool you. This man was one of the finest SEALs the US Navy ever built. He entered BUD/s at 19 yrs old standing 6'2", and in tremendous shape because he was previously a college basketball player. No colleges anywhere- no matter how small they are -hand out scholarships to people who aren't above average athletes. The student-athletes at even the tiniest Div. 3 schools are composed of people who are physically superior to the average working man. Rob had all the advantages upon entering into SEAL training because he was both a lifelong athlete, and an avid outdoorsman. He's very competitive by nature, and he absolutely hates losing at absolutely anything.
He had plenty of experience with guns, hunting/tracking, and surviving nature's elements from growing up in the frozen forests of Montana hunting big game. Without question, Rob was cut out for the Navy SEALs. He's inherently curious and attentive by nature, and he has a steel trap mind. He has fast reaction times; was already a compotent marksman prior to enlisting; and his reflexes have always told him to think first before panicking. Rob had all the qualities SEAL instructors look for in new recruits.
If you've ever listened to the content of other former SEALs and Tier 1 operators, you'll have heard the term "one percenter" get thrown around before. The 1% were the guys in special forces training everyone else in the class hated because they were not only the physically superior athletes, but they also always seemed to "get it" instantly. They never fell behind during PT, and they mostly passed their hardgate tests the first time, every time.
That was Rob. He was one of those detestable "one percenters" the rest of the class simply couldn't hang with.
Again, don't let his humility and blue collar values fool you. Rob O'Neill was always destined to become an elite warrior someday. He just has the class to never be the one who says it.

Perfectly said. You yourself obviously understand the warrior spirit and mentality. I am a former combat soldier ( not special forces by any stretch) and even though I could have never qualified to be in any special forces like these guys. I understand what it takes to take life and see life lost. In those moments you don't have time to see or feel the long term repercussions. But, later and it's different for everyone on how long it takes. Later it's going to hit you and the realization on how senseless most of it is, it's overwhelming. The sense of loss, the sense of guilt and the sense of fear that can settle into your spirit is difficult at times to bear. The latest statistics I heard were that we lose 22 soldiers a day to suicide. The kind of hurt a person has to feel to take their own life is bad to put it mildly. What people don't get, and I have had my weapon against my own temple more than once, is that we have already taken so much life and seen so much life lost. It's easy to reason with yourself, what's one more? Pray for our troops past, present and future. There must be a better way to deal with these conflicts. Peace and blessings to all who read this!!

And it's guys like him that keep us safe without asking for anything in return!
That's one thing that pisses me off when people wanna say cops are some kind of heroes. Cops join to b called a heroe even tho they aren't and never will be! These real heroes have never asked to be called heroes!

What an amazing man. Not just for all of his accomplishments but his attitude & demeanor. It fascinates me that after all he still has that light in him. He was so open about everything, speaking on moments that will be written in our history books. By the sounds of things, he's an instructor of some sort which is a blessing bc he's definitely someone who can teach u a lot. Also I seriously respect the fact that he spoke about our governments corruption. That's such a touchy subject with military men/women. On a side note, he definitely has ADHD lol I can relate to how his storied take different directions. May God continue to have his arms around this man & his family, but also forgive him for any sins that we don't understand

AMAZING INTERVIEW. This was life changing. I’ve learned quite a few valuable life lessons and morals watching this. I want to thank all of our troops from all military divisions for their sacrifices. And I want to thank the man above for blessing all of us with another day to be alive. AMEN.

Ok, respect where respect is due. This was an outstanding interview. From start to finish it was very interesting and easy to listen to. The conversation flowed naturally, Joe gave Rob all the time needed to speak and didn’t cut him off yet knew when to dial the conversation in on something for the audience.

The moments leading up to seeing Bin Laden had me on the edge of my seat. If you played “Zelda Link to the Past” it kind of reminds you the moments right before you face Gannon. There’s a silence then you finally see guy you’ve been looking for the entire game.
