Mr. O'Neill, My father was one of the people that was diagnosed with cancer post 9/11, and ultimately was proven to be as a result of 9/11 via the 9/11 Victims Foundation. He had no business to be there, helping pull people out of the rubble while in his suit coming from court, but he was there. He was a lawyer for a HUGE insurance company and was there at ground-zero leaving a meeting with his boss. He just reacted, and started helping pull people out of the rubble and get people to safety. It took hours before he was able to call home and let my mother and I know he was okay and that he rented a UHAUL truck and was driving it back to Omaha with his boss. A couple years later he was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately passed away. As a result, I was filled with a lot of rage for a few years that I was able to suppress via different outlets, but I will NEVER forget how I felt that night hearing the president come across the screen to let us know that an operation was conducted resulting in the death of Osama Bin Laden. I was in college with my 2 closest friends in our house playing video games at the dining room table together and the announcement came across the TV. I recall distinctly just feeling this huge weight of anger, and resentment lifted off of my shoulders. I locked myself in my room and cried for probably hours, and it was the most satisfying cry and probably the hardest I've ever cried in my life. Thank you for bringing justice to my family, and many others like it around the world. I wasn't born in the United States, I was adopted at a young age and acquired my citizenship years later. But, it's Americans like you that make me proud to be here, living the dream. Edit / Thank you all for the comments. But, it doesn't stay for long because as I've said before, this is the BEST country in the world. I am afforded so many opportunities to succeed and to thrive here. I live in the heart of the midwest, and even still being someone of a different color, I still feel like I get treated fairly, and respectfully. Sure, I've had my instances of racism, but they are few and far between. And, each time I do encounter that, soon after I encounter a new instance that again, solidifies that this country and it's people are where I want to raise my family.

New Yorkers pulled together as did the nation. We are definitely living in different times today. Sometimes it takes a common struggle to bring people together unfortunately. Honestly I don't think ANYTHING could bring us all together like that these days

Great interview with a true American Hero! Personally, I consider anyone who is dedicated enough to get through Navy SEAL training or any of the other top Tier 1 Special Forces programs as real heros because it's a tough life dedicated to serving our country at the point of the spear. It would be incredibly interesting to hear from guys who were both Navy SEALS in DEVGRU AND Delta Force! I'd love to hear what their opinions are on the differences between the two and which if either DEVGRU vs DELTA Force which they would consider as the more difficult, better trained (if there is 1 better than the other) and all the related stories and info that would be great!
@@echoromeo5024 Nope! Kevin Holland is the only one. He served in the SEAL TEAMS and DEVGRU in late 80s and 90s. He got out of the military before 9/11 happened. Then once the GWOD started he enlisted in the Army and made it to CAG, where he did multiple deployments.

I know there’s a lot of controversy about the SEALs and the Bin Laden raid in particular, but one thing I’ve noticed - and maybe it’s just from the podcasts I listen to - but the Team guys always seem to be really respectful of other units, both SOF and conventional. Rob speaks very highly of the AFSOC guys and the Rangers here. Jocko always speaks very highly of the soldiers and Marines he worked with in Ramadi. There are plenty of others, I just can’t think of them off the top of my head. But I feel like I hear a lot more bashing of SEALs by other units than vice versa. It could just be coincidence from the people I’ve heard on podcasts, but it is interesting.

Normally we the public do not need to know about military covert missions. However given the significance of this one I think its great Rob stepped forward and is offering closure. America needed it.
Had the pleasure of arranging a speaking engagement with Rob a few years ago in Reno. The 1,500 people in the audience didn't know he was first up and the agenda. He lit the room up with a 90 minute presentation on leadership, with a very effective video running behind him as he narrated it. He fired up the room, energy that lasted for the 3 days of the conference.
Glad I left Reno, way too many gullible sheep in that city now. Rob is FOS, try checking out Matt's version, way less drama and less bullshit, and his story doesn't change like Rob's does.
Thanks Mike and Rob. In terms of the Ukraine, two of the points Rob made about sanctions on Putin finances and Germany contributing is actually happening now. Germany has made a new commitment to increase their military spending. So, that appears solid. Now, I respect your opinions but I have a slightly different take on the US leadership showing weakness. In general except for a time or two that President Trump did it, the US doesn’t do bellicose statements because of men like you and technology we have and our nuclear capabilities, we don’t have to. What’s understood does not have to be explained. Said another way, in history it was “talk softly and carry a big stick.” So, it’s like in Poker it could be seen as a weakness if you are constantly talking up your hand. So, I prefer our posture or fire talk. We know our capabilities and they know our capabilities so I don’t get why it’s important to go out and beat our chest when we know we can take care of business. I think it’s not helpful to have internal political dissent to attack our own leadership in front of the enemy and even praise them above our very own. With that said that’s my opinion. I appreciate your podcast and thank you for your service.
It’s looking more like Rob did not kill UBL.There is an unknown DEV-GRU operator (Seal team 6) who’s code name is red. Within the seal community and within Seal Team 6 itself there is no question who killed UBL and they all say it was this unknown operator Red.
Agreed. Rob was still a bad ass. I think red had shot UBL before they entered the room and he was probably in the process of dying. They really wanted to capture him. Rob did shoot him and canoed him which I think made it impossible to capture him and also made it impossible to release the photos given they had to hold his head together when they took the photos. So I think it's worse than he didn't kill. I think he did kill him against Red probably thinking put him on the ground and cuff him. Rob said he was fidgeting and thought he had a bomb but also said he had his hands on his wife's shoulder. To me that was like a, "Well, my time is up". When Rob shot him and split his head it was a screw up. But if he was still breathing when he shot, he technically killed him. Maybe the truth will come up but I don't think Red will ever speak out.
I've heard Rob tell that story at least a half dozen times... and it never gets old

Thanks Mike and Rob. In terms of the Ukraine, two of the points Rob made about sanctions on Putin finances and Germany contributing is actually happening now. Germany has made a new commitment to increase their military spending. So, that appears solid. Now, I respect your opinions but I have a slightly different take on the US leadership showing weakness. In general except for a time or two that President Trump did it, the US doesn’t do bellicose statements because of men like you and technology we have and our nuclear capabilities, we don’t have to. What’s understood does not have to be explained. Said another way, in history it was “talk softly and carry a big stick.” So, it’s like in Poker it could be seen as a weakness if you are constantly talking up your hand. So, I prefer our posture or fire talk. We know our capabilities and they know our capabilities so I don’t get why it’s important to go out and beat our chest when we know we can take care of business. I think it’s not helpful to have internal political dissent to attack our own leadership in front of the enemy and even praise them above our very own. With that said that’s my opinion. I appreciate your podcast and thank you for your service.
It’s looking more like Rob did not kill UBL.There is an unknown DEV-GRU operator (Seal team 6) who’s code name is red. Within the seal community and within Seal Team 6 itself there is no question who killed UBL and they all say it was this unknown operator Red.

Rob was still a bad ass. I think red had shot UBL before they entered the room and he was probably in the process of dying.
They really wanted to capture him. Rob did shoot him and canoed him which I think made it impossible to capture him and also made it impossible to release the photos given they had to hold his head together when they took the photos.
So I think it's worse than he didn't kill. I think he did kill him against Red probably thinking put him on the ground and cuff him.
Rob said he was fidgeting and thought he had a bomb but also said he had his hands on his wife's shoulder.
To me that was like a, "Well, my time is up".
When Rob shot him and split his head it was a screw up. But if he was still breathing when he shot, he technically killed him.
Maybe the truth will come up but I don't think Red will ever speak out.
