Mr. O'Neill, My father was one of the people that was diagnosed with cancer post 9/11, and ultimately was proven to be as a result of 9/11 via the 9/11 Victims Foundation. He had no business to be there, helping pull people out of the rubble while in his suit coming from court, but he was there. He was a lawyer for a HUGE insurance company and was there at ground-zero leaving a meeting with his boss. He just reacted, and started helping pull people out of the rubble and get people to safety. It took hours before he was able to call home and let my mother and I know he was okay and that he rented a UHAUL truck and was driving it back to Omaha with his boss. A couple years later he was diagnosed with cancer and unfortunately passed away. As a result, I was filled with a lot of rage for a few years that I was able to suppress via different outlets, but I will NEVER forget how I felt that night hearing the president come across the screen to let us know that an operation was conducted resulting in the death of Osama Bin Laden. I was in college with my 2 closest friends in our house playing video games at the dining room table together and the announcement came across the TV. I recall distinctly just feeling this huge weight of anger, and resentment lifted off of my shoulders. I locked myself in my room and cried for probably hours, and it was the most satisfying cry and probably the hardest I've ever cried in my life. Thank you for bringing justice to my family, and many others like it around the world. I wasn't born in the United States, I was adopted at a young age and acquired my citizenship years later. But, it's Americans like you that make me proud to be here, living the dream.
    Edit /
Thank you all for the comments. I actually screenshotted your comments etc and showed them to my mother (she's NOT tech savvy at all, bless her heart) and she is more than thankful for your responses and kind words. I guess I have always looked as my father as MY hero, but never as A hero.. if that makes sense. Like, one that other people would refer to as a hero. But, hearing it from other people really, REALLY makes sense. Thank you again.

Sometimes I wonder where I'd be if I wasn't here. I don't exactly know the state of my living conditions when I lived in my birth country (I COULD if I wanted to, but I choose not to because tbh I'm more than content with my life), but the thought has crossed my mind more than once. But, it doesn't stay for long because as I've said before, this is the BEST country in the world. I am afforded so many opportunities to succeed and to thrive here. I live in the heart of the midwest, and even still being someone of a different color, I still feel like I get treated fairly, and respectfully. Sure, I've had my instances of racism, but they are few and far between. And, each time I do encounter that, soon after I encounter a new instance that again, solidifies that this country and it's people are where I want to raise my family.

I know there’s a lot of controversy about the SEALs and the Bin Laden raid in particular, but one thing I’ve noticed - and maybe it’s just from the podcasts I listen to - but the Team guys always seem to be really respectful of other units, both SOF and conventional. Rob speaks very highly of the AFSOC guys and the Rangers here. Jocko always speaks very highly of the soldiers and Marines he worked with in Ramadi. There are plenty of others, I just can’t think of them off the top of my head. But I feel like I hear a lot more bashing of SEALs by other units than vice versa. It could just be coincidence from the people I’ve heard on podcasts, but it is interesting.

It would be incredibly interesting to hear from guys who were both Navy SEALS in DEVGRU AND Delta Force! I'd love to hear what their opinions are on the differences between the two and which if either DEVGRU vs DELTA Force which they would consider as the more difficult, better trained (if there is 1 better than the other) and all the related stories and info that would be great!

Rob is a complete badass and I thank him for his service. However this whole "I am the one who killed OBL" is a bit controversial. Some in the community is rubbed the wrong way by it because tier 1 guys are supposed to be quiet professionals, secondly there is another team 6 operator who's story of the raid doesnt line up with rob's story. Indicating rob wasnt the one who took the kill shot. So its raised some conspiracy. This has been going on for a long time so by now, people have taken sides. @@wes3527 Wes, rumor has it Bill Rapier, interviewed by Mike (think it’s podcast # 60) was at the head of the stack, took the shot. Or, maybe the other guy is right, and the shooter is still in. I think both Rob and “Mark” entered BinLaden’s room and shot him, after another SEAL shot him in the hallway.

@@wes3527 Admiral McRaven said that Rob shot him. If course I don't know but I am sure the Admiral read the reports and interviewed his men. So McRaven's word seems to be the best supporting evidence. But the Team did it so thank you SEALS.

Normally we the public do not need to know about military covert missions. However given the significance of this one I think its great Rob stepped forward and is offering closure. America needed it.

Brother I am getting me a Old Dominion/Decker Rat Terrier. We had a Mini Ratty that passed away at 19 years last Year, I said I wasn’t ever going to get another Dog but I need a Companion Dog. I had my best friend that was with me just about every day, He worked for Out Family Construction Company. He was my Go to person for everything that is wrong with me. I could talk to him about the Death and Destruction from 23 working for a Real Busy Fire Department, so to say I seen a ton is a Understatement period. But I don’t have him to talk now because he passed away from Cancer but I survived from AML Leukemia Cancer Twice. Then my body went Septic once and was Clinically Dead with a Blood Pressure down to 23/12 all my Organs we’re starting to shut down so they Drink Medicine Ports in my Shins so they could get medication into my body. I could tell this story for at least a Hour of all the Crazy Shit that happened to Me starting at 21 years Old. Anyway I Digress I want to Companion Dogg to ride with me every where I go he will get to around a good 40 to 45 Pounds.

I was shocked when the chain up to the skipper of our Viking squadron approved me for air crew though I was an avionics tech. The first class swim certificate was missing from my medical jacket from boot camp so off to Navy Jax I go for the swim test. I can do every stroke perfectly but the breaststroke. I could not make it perfect enough for the SEALS giving the tests. I could stay afloat for an hour or more, no issue. But they were not going to give me a pass on the damn breaststroke regardless of how fast I could still move across the water. If I couldn't breathe correctly, I wasn't passing.
Damnit! So much for flying in the backseat of a War Hoover. I was a private pilot flying out of Navy Jax at that same time so I wanted it bad but I could not perform that stroke to save my life.

Thanks Mike and Rob. In terms of the Ukraine, two of the points Rob made about sanctions on Putin finances and Germany contributing is actually happening now. Germany has made a new commitment to increase their military spending. So, that appears solid. Now, I respect your opinions but I have a slightly different take on the US leadership showing weakness. In general except for a time or two that President Trump did it, the US doesn’t do bellicose statements because of men like you and technology we have and our nuclear capabilities, we don’t have to. What’s understood does not have to be explained. Said another way, in history it was “talk softly and carry a big stick.” So, it’s like in Poker it could be seen as a weakness if you are constantly talking up your hand. So, I prefer our posture or fire talk. We know our capabilities and they know our capabilities so I don’t get why it’s important to go out and beat our chest when we know we can take care of business. I think it’s not helpful to have internal political dissent to attack our own leadership in front of the enemy and even praise them above our very own. With that said that’s my opinion. I appreciate your podcast and thank you for your service.
