Way better and less of a stoner version than the more popular album version, IMO. In the 90s, where I lived, this came out as the original radio track, and only a few months later was I disappointed when the "messier" version came out.
this was the first song i ever heard sublime play then i started listining to more and now ther my favorite band so its all thanks to this song R.I.P. Bradly and Loudog P.S. next dog i get im naming it Loudog!
Sublime expert to the rescue. This IS the original What I Got. It was produced by Paul Leary and it is the version the band liked better. When Sublime fired Paul Leary as producer of their new album, they went back to Long Beach and MCA requested that they rerecord What I Got with producer David Kahne to make the song more marketable. Why this version is labeled (Reprise) i do not know. It is probably because it is not the original single version. There you have it.
its songs from sublime that keep me from killing myself sometimes. try listening to there mor underground shit like Ebin, lets go get stoned, what happened, and new song
i like the other one better..although this ones a little funner...but if they were to put same vocals from other one onto this one, it would be perfect
Heroin is the reason he's good. So... would you rather him being alive and still trying to become great without heroin or do you want him to be dead from heroin but because of the creativity heroin gives, he's as great as he is now?
its a big world....u dont think that somewhere in this world somebody played at a show that sublime played at ??? your just jealous...sublime werent that famous untill AFTER the last album...they played thier fair share of dingy clubs along side no name bands
I was about to send an extremely angry message to a group of people I don't like. (The westboro baptist church, seriously fucked up organization not like normal christians at all) This song started playing and I decided just to chill out and turn the other cheek. What I was about to do would've brought me down to their level, now I am the bigger person.
It doesnt have that fucking annoying thing where it sounds like its going from one ear to another, but very subtly. and the beginning is waaay different
your right and wrong... right by that he's talented but wrong that it's not because of the heroin. It was a 1-year experiment that turned into more than 4 years and then he died. Why did he get on that experiment? Because: HE WANTED A RECORD DEAL & CREATIVITY!
This world needs more of this kind of love.
Best song ever. I like the Reprise wayyyy more
Whenever I hear this, I always sing along, and by the end, I'm always smiling.

@BBruinsfan32 That's what sublime is all about.
R.I.P. Bradley.
Perhaps you're right but I can almost guarantee that it would take him longer to create such good songs... but then again, who knows?
it is.
