The name of the youngest, strongest witch who saved her covenmates from starving by slitting her own throat and offer herself to be feasted on so that her coven can be saved from starvation in the cold months.
Well, yes.. at least, this witch was named after the goddess of magic, witchcraft, love ect. And why not? Totally legit in my eyes to name your daughter Freya, if you are not a Christian 🤷♀️
She did it to save her coven, satan had nothing to do with it. Did no-one ever question why he never came to their aid? Did that not give them the idea that he doesn't actually care what happens to them so long as they praise him?
You see they get their magic from satan. If they dont worship him and bow down to him they lose the ability to cast spells therefore in time will result in death to them all by witch hunters

This feels a lot like gaelic/scottish folk songs to me though those are usually not about human sacrifice as much as drinking, markets, and love. I love Peter Hollens renditions though Celtic Woman fits this style more closely. I would listen around until you find a folk artist whose voice you really like.

But she didn't save the greendale 13, she saved the rest of coven, and then the coven let the greendale 13 hang to save themselves....

Freya?? The goddess of vikings?? This Freya?? My beloved and marvelous Freya, goddess of love and magic?
I wish, but not quite just a witch named after her in tbe series
