He was bitten by a tick when he was 16 or 17 He got really sick from it and went to doctors and they could not figure what was wrong with him. When he had joint pain, muscle spasms, skin rashes, boils, internal organs started shutting down, And Doctors had no idea what was going on. He was loosing weight and had constant fatigue could not even stand to shower.. Doctors started sending him to psychological evaluations, They told him his mind was making him sick ! And started treating him for that with some heavy pharmaceuticals. And all that shit really fucked with his mind, He started believing he was crazy. And this went on for 8 fucking years !! 8 YEARS !! He pursued his own symptoms and lead to a Doctor that gave test for Lyme disease. Where he lived it was very rear to ever contract Lyme disease so he was never tested. When he went in described his symptoms the Doctor knew what he had. Ran the DNA test and found it in his system. However it has been in there for 8 years and has done a lot of damage to his body. He can only eat like 6 things his bones still hurt and the autoimmunity may never be healed. He had to go into surgery to remove tissue to generate stem cells grown outside his body then under go treatment taking the stem cells to help with the autoimmunity and help heal his deterioration of muscle, and a very aggressive antibiotics regiment to cure the Lyme disease chromosome. That was in LA then he went to Calgary and under going treatment on the damage the Lyme left.. He is still there until June. Welcome to Ren he is a talent I have never seen. And I have seen a LOT !! [ There’s so much more going back years, as part of a band and on his own.] Ren lays himself bare and in doing so he has made many here feel seen, heard, and understood- often for the first time. Ren's on another level entirely to Dimash. Dimash has technical vocal ability and that's it. Ren has EVERYTHING! Plus, Ren can convery more emotion in a single line, or a single note, than people like Dimash manage in an entire career! Dimash mimics emotion. Ren IS emotion! It probably helps too, being a genuine creator, rather than just a performer. :)

Completely in agreement with you about the positive and negative of not pausing. Plus, doing so disrespects the song/performance. Always felt that if a reactor must pause for fear of losing his/her thought, he/she should do so upon a second hearing. The first hearing should always be a full run-through. I hope you continue your current method of handling pauses going forward with the channel.
I don’t even do it intentionally but I have been obsessed with absolutely everything Ren for going on two years! I barely listen to anything else! His humanity makes me love him all that much more! I do believe he is on many levers and actual genius.

You should definitely check out the songs Sick Boi, Seven Sins, Genesis (especially the live version), the Money Game trilogy, and the Tale of Jenny and Screech (another long one - there is a 13 minute video with three tales placed in order, making up a bigger story). He's done some fantastic collaborations. My favourites are Blind Eyed with Sam Tompkins and the two songs he did with Chinchilla (especially the live versions). Great reaction, and a new sub here. I agree with you about pausing and losing the rhythm and immersion of a track. Ren's base is pretty obsessive, but mostly positive and will bombard you with backstory and recommendations. He has over 200 videos on youtube if you add in those from the two bands he was in - Trick The Fox and The Big Push. He dabbles in a wide range of styles so there's always something new and surprising to discover. Enjoy the ride!

You're so right on pausing the songs during reactions. What's the point in pausing for 5 or even more minutes during 5 minutes long song or pausing 10 seconds before the song ends.
I've thought about this too. It's probably best not pausing but watching it for a 2nd time. Collecting your thoughts during the 1st and 2nd watches might help to then pause at the 2nd time watching it. I think for any reaction video it's a tough call between being in the moment but stopping it so often or watching it all but missing lots of key moments everyone hopes you pick up on.

You should definitely check out the songs Sick Boi, Seven Sins, Genesis (especially the live version), the Money Game trilogy, and the Tale of Jenny and Screech (another long one - there is a 13 minute video with three tales placed in order, making up a bigger story). He's done some fantastic collaborations. My favourites are Blind Eyed with Sam Tompkins and the two songs he did with Chinchilla (especially the live versions). He was also in a band called the Big Push, and they are definitely worth checking out.

Thank you for your reaction. That's the magic of Ren. I have seen more reactors who do not pay attention to the content of the lyrics, but now that they listen to Ren, they do. Ren draws you into his music. He is a master of storytelling but in a bard style. I think they call it Bardcore.

Ren has ADHD,which I think adds to his of kilter way of thinking,which in turn crafts his stories,it's the same with some autistic people,they are genius in some ways
Great reaction, and a new sub here. I agree with you about pausing and losing the rhythm and immersion of a track. Ren's base is pretty obsessive, but mostly positive and will bombard you with backstory and recommendations. He has over 200 videos on youtube if you add in those from the two bands he was in - Trick The Fox and The Big Push. He dabbles in a wide range of styles so there's always something new and surprising to discover. Enjoy the ride!
Ren's different. You're so right on pausing the songs during reactions. What's the point in pausing for 5 or even more minutes during 5 minutes long song or pausing 10 seconds before the song ends.

I've thought about this too. It's probably best not pausing but watching it for a 2nd time. Collecting your thoughts during the 1st and 2nd watches might help to then pause at the 2nd time watching it. I think for any reaction video it's a tough call between being in the moment but stopping it so often or watching it all but missing lots of key moments everyone hopes you pick up on.

Thanks for your thoughtful reaction.........though the lyrics provided are not very good, the listener should just listen closely to the performance.......about "Hi Ren" : Lyme disease, MISdiagnoses, psychotropic meds, physical symptoms & pain, treatment that may continue Ren's entire life, starting at age 17 ..........any wonder his inner demons torment him ? No offense to therapists, but I believe the 'Pig/Butcher' at the start (and appearing in many Ren videos) represents Ren's opinion of many doctors and therapists, which is understandable.......of course, just my thoughts.
