Here's a good question - what team do you see as next in the pipeline as a "drafts smart, signs team-friendly early deals" contender like the Sox or Braves?
As a Warriors fan, the Braves are the Golden State Warriors of the Mlb, they draft well and have on of the best player development systems in the league
The braves are basically paying acuna and albies league minimum salary (joke). Also, that dodgers graphic at the end is insane. Number 2 farm system and best record in MLB (with 4 former mvps and 7 capable playoff starters)
I find it funny the Braves were ranked so low on farm system, because we proved that is wrong this year. How can you at the preseason be ranked so low, and then have the 2 players that would win ROTY most years at the same time. And grissom is here also making a case with insane numbers. Maybe they should look at the system again lol
@@darith770 we had a low farm system BEFORE the season tho, and now we have some AA players kicking ass. Yea now we might but, still after the gross underestimation they should check again lol
This is exactly how you build a team. As much as I don't wanna see any other team besides the Astros win I love to see a well run organization. Cherish it Atlanta
I think people underestimate the value of consistency in a man's life. The freedom of knowing where you're gonna live and that your teammates that you love will also be there and that you can all continue to help each other and keep each other accountable is worth a lot of money. When you've already got millions? It's priceless. So these Braves have freedom to just focus on having fun playing baseball and taking care of themselves as humans. The Braves are building a community, not just a baseball team, and potentially it's a new recipe for an all-time dynasty. Time will tell! 1 game out of first right now!
The Braves are indeed a very well run team. But IDK about dynasty. The competition is stronger than ever today, and sometimes you just need some luck / breaks to go your way. Nothing is ever guaranteed, like you pointed out with the White Sox.
Having a PSA 9 rated and documented Riley rookie month ball (documented in his first two weeks more exactly) where he was also MVP .. It's an heirloom that I'll never sell.
I can't tell ya how impressive a job the front office and scout team has done. I know it's been a while now, but when turner sold the team, I figured we were done as a pennant threat, and that was true, for a few years, but I think this organization is in the best spot it's been in since shurholtz was dominating. And it's been done the right way. Chop em!!!
I've come to amend my statement. This isn't the best spot we've been in since Shurholtz. This is the best spot the organization has ever been in. Everyone is young and locked in except Fried. It's incredible.
This Braves team is absolutely insane you would think it couldn't get better after a title in 2021 and after they lost Freeman you would think that's the peak of the Braves but it probably won't be with their absolutely crazy young core
They also have a very underrated farm system. Alot of guys have come out of nowhere from development in their minors. They have alot of good coaches and even their major league guys will help out alot with minor league players in the winter.
This is one of the smartest front offices in the league, they are looking to be the east coast version of the LA Dodgers. 1. Recruit top notch talent who also grew up near Atlanta, were Atlanta fans as kids, have interest in being a brave. 2. Cultivate talent within their farm system. 3. Sign them to long term contracts. This is very the similar to the LA Dodgers approach.
I might be a Yankee fan, but I know when I see a potentially decade-dominating team. The Atlanta Braves look like they are that team. I still think the Dodgers, Astros & Mets win Championships this decade as well. They're all good teams. But the Braves have a very good young core and great player development that I haven't seen in a long, long time.
I just hope Atlanta can win more than one title this time around unlike in the '90s. I don't expect to win four out of five like the Yankees did during their dynasty run but three titles over seven or eight years would still be great.
@@Confecting Atlanta needs to win another World Series soon to end two narratives... 1. The narrative that they're a one-hit wonder 2. The narrative that they can't win a title without Freddie Freeman
Very very tough to be a dynasty in today’s day and age, but the Braves should make the postseason every year for the next ~decade, and once you’re in, anything can happen
If people are expecting four out of five like the Yankees then it probably won’t happen but something like three out of seven is not unrealistic (but definitely tough).
@@claydouglas2526 It would still be difficult to win three out of seven but the point is that it's much more likely that a team wins some spread out titles like the Red Sox have (2004, 2007, 2013, 2018) than have a true dynasty like the Yankees (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000). The Braves winning in 2021, 2023 and 2027 is much more realistic than winning in 2021, 2022, 2024 and 2025.
@@87Khein well yeah…titles are hard to win, so you’ve got a much better chance of winning fewer titles over more years. That’s not exactly groundbreaking econometrics.
AA is literally the best GM in baseball. He just has an eye for finding players that teams write off and turning them into stars. He literally did what Billy did in Moneyball except he won the last game of the season. We call it the Battery because AA powers it.
Sorry but Andrew Friedman is the best gm in baseball.Dodgers have made a bunch of average players no one wanted into all stars or good pitchers. But I won't lie the braves are loaded and will be dangerous for good while.I do give credit to the gm for getting there players to sign cheaper contracts. That guy is a genius. There scouting is top notch.
The Braves are an organization that 90% of outside fans are envious of. And Braves fans themselves are more thankful to be fans of this team than most others. Magic
One * about anderson i would add is his struggle only appeared this year as before he was a solid starter you could count on. I'm not so sure what happened between 2021 and 2022. Can't wait to get Soroka back to full form and hopefully Wright continue to pitch well
Something to add that’s important for the Braves moving forward that wasn’t mentioned in the video or in the comments I have read it the problem with money they could run into with the ownership group. Liberty Media is notably stingy but going forward they have promised some more financial support for the team, but this is only after the success of a World Series. As a Braves fan, I’m concerned the budget may not grow if the team were to take a step back in the playoffs in the coming years. Either way, the team does have a phenomenal young core that has me excited for the future. The only concern I have is the ownership group’s willingness to provide cash to make some large free agent splashes to supplement the core.
This team is built for the long haul. I never thought I’d see a team that was on the same level as those 90’s teams but this one has a chance to be better.
I’m not super confident we will make another deep postseason run this year, but with Acuña and Albies coming back healthy for 2023 and all the guys locked up for the foreseeable future, I don’t see how we don’t win at least one more title
I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a rule change where it stipulates that you may not sign a player to a contract before they have completed 3 seasons in the MLB, defined as having been called up before July. So you could technically get around that by calling up players in July, even if they are ready to be called up in April for their debut, just so you can use them a little bit more. But I think this could be necessary to prevent the highway robbery the Braves are doing, as well as to prevent future teams from doing the same thing
@@PhilliesNostalgia Just what you said in the paragraph above. I don’t think it’s highway robbery, I think Alex Anthopolus is doing what he has to do not having the deep pockets of the Yankees or the Dodgers. It’s brilliant.
The Braves have a giant strategy that you do not mention. What do Austin Riley, Matt Olsen, and Michael Harris II have in common? They grew up in The SE and were Braves fans. Dansby Swanson did as well. That is how they got on team friendly deals.
Braves owner wants to win, other small market owners want to make money, if the player they pay before they prove their worth, they won’t wanna risk it with the chance they lose money. They aren’t putting a contender on the field, they wanna put 1-2 big names to draw crowds.
As a Braves fan I'm sure Hank Aaron is resting peacefully knowing the Braves won it all and are trending upward. What I love most about this team is the players bought into the tradition and want to be Braves.

The Orioles have potential. If they can get Adley, Gunnar Henderson, and Grayson Rodriguez all signed on the cheap they will be scary
Braves have such an advantage because so many southern and Latino (both extremely fertile talent pools) grew up Braves fans
Red Sox GM Chaim Bloom is a product of the Rays organization, he's going to be doing the same with Bello and Marcelo and co.

Great video man! Loved it as a Braves fan.
Ahh sportstorm blessing us w a new vid. What A Treat
That is much easier to do when you have easily the highest payroll.
I find it funny the Braves were ranked so low on farm system, because we proved that is wrong this year. How can you at the preseason be ranked so low, and then have the 2 players that would win ROTY most years at the same time. And grissom is here also making a case with insane numbers. Maybe they should look at the system again lol
@@SphealDude Braves have a "low" farm b/c their prospects graduated to the big show :)
@@darith770 we had a low farm system BEFORE the season tho, and now we have some AA players kicking ass. Yea now we might but, still after the gross underestimation they should check again lol
If the Braves had the dodgers money. They could sign Judge and Degrom in the off season.
Best pitcher in history and your reason why readyyy go!
Great video man
The Braves are the most exciting team in baseball.
This is exactly how you build a team. As much as I don't wanna see any other team besides the Astros win I love to see a well run organization. Cherish it Atlanta
Amazing!
Well done on the video!!
More Braves content please!!
1 game out of first right now!
good content as always
Thanks!
The Braves are indeed a very well run team. But IDK about dynasty. The competition is stronger than ever today, and sometimes you just need some luck / breaks to go your way. Nothing is ever guaranteed, like you pointed out with the White Sox.
I'd like to see a Braves/White Sox World Series matchup. Obviously the White Sox won't be getting there this year...but maybe in 2023 or 2024.
You have the best baseball channel on RUclips
I appreciate that, thank you!
As a Braves fan this is the happiest time of my life
This is one of the smartest front offices in the league, they are looking to be the east coast version of the LA Dodgers. 1. Recruit top notch talent who also grew up near Atlanta, were Atlanta fans as kids, have interest in being a brave. 2. Cultivate talent within their farm system. 3. Sign them to long term contracts. This is very the similar to the LA Dodgers approach.
Dodgers also buy a lot of their talent.... I dont think they are that similar.
They're doing it to avoid Albert Pujols-type contracts later...
If Freeman was still here, considering the form they're in and freddie is in, a lock for the WS for sure
Matt is cool, but he ain’t Freddie that’s for damn sure
@@Confecting Atlanta needs to win another World Series soon to end two narratives...
1. The narrative that they're a one-hit wonder
2. The narrative that they can't win a title without Freddie Freeman
great video bro
Thanks!
Harris hits dingers
Franco....Well....we know now
I see flashes of the 90’s and 00’s Braves, this team can go on another great run to hopefully win more championships
@@87Khein even the best teams are only ~30% to win at the outset, so even 3/7 would be exceptional. Just too much entropy in the sport.
Magic
They did something very similar in the late 1980's going into the 1990's.
Great video!!!
Yeah I also foresee some sort of restrictions in the future
Watch Manfred do something stupid
@@smartluck100 What? I’m sure he will, but what will he do
@@PhilliesNostalgia Just what you said in the paragraph above.
The fact that the agent would intentionally and frequently use the word “stole” tells you all you need to know about the agent.
As a Braves fan I can honestly see another championship real soon.
I saw this coming years ago. It astounds me that more small market teams don’t do this.
Braves owner wants to win, other small market owners want to make money, if the player they pay before they prove their worth, they won’t wanna risk it with the chance they lose money. They aren’t putting a contender on the field, they wanna put 1-2 big names to draw crowds.
@@DJ_107 It depends. The Rays want to win and they don’t typically do this (although Wander is now an exception).
Great video
I love it!
In AA we trust
LET'S GO BRAVOS!
