Nail art is not really something they teach is in school to be honest. I learned in the field and Watching videos from "Nails by Dev" (Instagram/RUclips) & "Notpolish Nail" on youtube. Other than that nail techs do workshops range of $200 to $800 but don't know of any in Dallas area 😵💫
@@raylynncruz8093 I dont remember because I donated it. But big enough for everything and make sure it has latches! They will ding you for not closing your kit so latches will remind you to do so. I bought mine from Walmart.
what school is this? I want to learn how to be a nail tech in tx . is there a school where I can only do this? Most schools I looked at are cosmetologist and dont really show how to do nails. Mostly hair and makeup
Milan Institute - Ingram location in San Antonio, Texas They have quite a few campuses in Texas. Sometimes Nail Technician courses are Listed as " Manicurist " they are 6months - 600 hours minimum per TDLR requirements. While Cosmo is longer however they will only train you with nails for a week which would be making a acrylic nail. Milan, Ogle, Vogue, and even Paul Mitchelle school have Manicurst Programs in Texas. Which ever school you choose 600 hour / 6months really doesn't prepare you for working the field. Out of my graduating class only a hand full of them are tech 2 years later even including myself.
Best advice I can give is.... Practice painting with regular polish to help your hand muscles devlope the proper pressure. Practice french tips in regular and gel polish. Practice Laying acyrlic 3 bead method and then 1 bead (turn and burn salons will force this methodology on you) Practice on as many people as you can! Wear gloves and wear masks whenever possible. I have contact dermatitis from acetone and acrylic from doing removals bare handed. Best gloves are nitrile gloves from sams club. School really only teach what will be on the tests but everything I've actually learned has been in the field. And don't let people discourage you. It can be rewarding and others frustrating especially with clients that don't care about your mental health. But fill your schedule and eventually weed those clients out as well as bosses too!
I’m looking into signing up and this video helps me feel better about the process and I’m new to Texas and saw I can take the course right here in Round Rock which is super close to me
Everytime AND also if you touch your face or sneeze. They watch people like hawks. Basically after every part of the test sanitize your hands think of it is like a closing procedure
Just checked the TDLR and PSI handbook on their website this is still accurate it was updated August 2023 but they haven't released PSI for 2024 on their website. For up to date break down google " TDLR Barber and cosmetology exam information" Then click Candidate Information Bulletin from their select cosmetology manicurist it will give you the latest psi handbook for the test
Hi, thank you for the video. I appreciate it. Every time you eliminate a nail tip size and throw it in the garbage do you have to sanitize your hands between nail tips sizes! 😊
@@Sukeban-nailz I actually started school January 2021 and graduated school in July of 2021 with 600 hours and have never actually went to try to take it. I called my school a while ago to ask for more assistance/ guidance to which they are honestly oblivious themselves I realize I chose a poor institution to study because resources were and still are to a minimum but also the schooling was super cheap🫤 We didn’t even have a instructor everyday at my school to actually teach the nail program🤦🏽♀️ and not to mention when he did come in he was late and would sit at his desk til lunch in silence. Only time he would talk to us was if he needed one of us to do the school’s customers. The classroom had no kind of structure at all and wasn’t very much of a learning environment.
