Rest in Peace, Andy Rourke. (1964🌻2023) The Smiths' distinct sound wouldn't have been possible without your brilliant bass. Thank you for giving the world such beautiful music.
I listened to this song on Feb. 2, 1989, then made an agitated phone call to ask out the girl who had borrowed my coat the day before. Looking back, I don't think that agitated bravado is much preferrable to shyness. All the same, she said, yes, and here we are, happily married 33 years later-- despite a few bombs along the way!

What's the meaning behind the lines? I've only just found The Smiths and I love them, can't believe I only just discovered them. That line has been bugging me for days
Well, based on the fact that the song is about a relationship, I'd assume this how he spends his days, away from the outside world, and instead he's more concerned about writing to his girlfriend (who happens to be from Luxembourg). "Frightening Verse" is probably a referral to writing appallingly cheesy or over-romantic language, which other people might find ghastly or ridiculous. Uma das melhores bandas que vi nos anos 80; música suave, letras inteligentes, ritmo dançante sem ser frenético. Excelete, The Smith!!

One of the best music videos I've ever seen.
I’m amazed how some of their songs didn’t get in the top 10 at the time ,he only had 3 top 10 hits which amazes me ,must have been the strong competition in those years.I think everyone appreciates their talent more now than then !!!
It was 80’s, what did you expect
@@mariamman ,the best decade for varied and perfect music
They weren’t exactly releasing mainstream type music
This is authentic indie 80s♡♡♡♡ love the video and the song
The most beautiful song about being shy which reminds me of Budapest. I love you Morrissey.
johnny marr is mental on this. criminally underrated. the goat imo
Their most straightforward, sweet song .
The Smiths created the most exquisite music ever made

This song says so much about my life because I've been shy and terrified of failure and trying new things.😪
Because if it's not love,
Then it's the bomb, the bomb, the bomb...
Will bring us together. ❤🎶🎵
the five man lineup of the smiths was an extra layer of genius on top of an already technically gifted band, not to mention the quality of their songwriting! it really gives the feeling that they could have done anything they wanted to musically, very nimble and elegant playing on everyone's part(s), too bad it all imploded but we got great recordings either way!
Ouvir essa música me dá vontade de sair dançando e esquecer de tudo! viva aos The Smiths!
La timidez te detiene, gran verdad.
Most romantic song EVER written...
I was 13 when this came out. I could live here forever.
I love this song, and can deeply relate to it on a personal level.
They look like they're having so much fun in this music video.
