Instead of complaining about the length of the vid, you neverhappies should be in awe of an honest hardworking auto repair engineer. Ray is a national treasure.
The people whinging about flinging the empty brake cleaner tins around have never had to work a day in their lives. Ignore them, Ray, as you will... 😂👍
I toss empty cans around all the time. Don't see a problem with it. It's your shop. You do you. If they don't like it, they don't have to watch. I'm 40 plus yrs wrenching and tossing. Never had a can blow up on me yet. Unintentionally that is lol. Shit, I'm old
There will always be mad people around us... As per say, a can of brake cleaner, $19. Paper towels for cleaning the floor, $5. The satisfaction given by hearing "ANOTHERRR" and seeing a can being flung across the room until it stops moving, priceless
Okay, regarding throwing the empty cans of Brake Kleen across the shop and people complaining about it. Reminds me of what a mechanic told me about his smoking in his shop. "When somebody complains about it that wants to pay my rent for the place shows up is when I'll quit doing it." SCREW 'em if they can't take a joke.
Don't let the douchebags that take themselves too seriously change what you do! You have over half a million subscribers that love what you do. We watch for the knowledge you share AND the entertainment you provide. Keep it up, you are a rockstar brother!!
At the assembly plant all the fluids are put in just before the car is started and driven off. Sixty cars come off the line every hour. For the brake system a vacuum is put on the master cylinder. If the system holds a vacuum there are no leaks and brake fluid is injected. All of this happens in 55 seconds. By applying a vacuum to the fuel tank while injecting fuel, 16 to 20 gallons of fuel is put in the tank in that same 55 seconds. Just a little FYI how the factory does things.🙂
Where I live school kids between 13 and 15 get to go out and experience rea l workplaces a few weeks just so they will have an idea of what to expect from working in whatever business they have an interest. Some companies report an interest in taking on a few kids a year, but often it's parents who has connections that call up and ask if their kids can get to come spend a few weeks. Some years back a customer asked an my boss agreed to have his son come and have get some experience working as a IT technician. Now I have to say I didn't remember how insecure kids can be when they come into a shop. Selective memory is definitely a thing. But he got to help with everything from servicing broken machines to building and installing servers. Any way, at the last day of the two weeks we had a talk where he could ask any questions and we could get an idea of how his thought his experience had been. I still remember one of his questions that simply was, did we really always have so much fun at work? Where his parents worked "fun" was a dirty word. They were always supposed to be professional and joking with collogues were not "professional behavior"...
It was worth it to go to both channels for a feature length Ray movie. Edit: Those that say throwing the empty cans of break clean is not safe are obviously new here, and don't realize you've been doing that for as long as I've been here. It's part of the channel, like "Gravity!", "Popping ze hood" and the engine shutdown sound. E2: I can't type for everyone, but I enjoy watching the fluid exchange videos.
Going to guess by some of the comments you've made, some people have been complaining (more than usual)? Don't appologize Ray. You aren't doing anything wrong, you're videos are fine the way they are. Don't change, you be you, it's why the loyal base have always been here. No matter what you do, there will always be someone complaining, even if you do everything perfect. Do what you do and enjoy what you do.
I enjoy watching everything, brake flushing, throwing empty brake cleaner cans. Working on your own vehicle. Even replacing the headliner and carpet. Just keep doing what you're doing Ray.
forget the haters on your brake clean. I love to see what you do with it. All chemicals can cause trouble. however, as long as you follow the directions, screw those jerks.
I think the vast majority of us love the throwing of brake cleaner cans. We also love toight like a tiger, poppining z hood, and "what is problem?" With a Russian accent.
I find it greatly satisfying when you and other channels spray brake kleen and also i'm entertained when you toss those cans 🙂Please don't stop lol. Love all the video's even if you don't use brake kleen.
Hey Ray, just a few things. First I love the sound effects when you first introduce a brakleen can and the I love it when you chunk the empty can down the shop. Ignore the haters and keep doing it. Second, I noticed when you were replacing the brake fluid that you did not use a fender liner. Since brake fluid eats the paint off of surfaces, may I suggest a fender liner on future brake fluid changes. Also everything you stated about brake fluid is absolutely correct. I am an Acura and Honda technician of 29 years and I just thought I would inform you and everyone else that Honda recommends brake fluid change every 3 years regardless of mileage. Last point I would like to make is I noticed you installed those brake pads in the calipers dry. I would use a molykote grease because as you are braking, the friction material going across the rotors vibrate at a high rate (not causing a vibration in the vehicle). This vibration actually cause an audible squeal noise. The molykote grease actually dampens this vibration and keeps inhibits the squeal noise. Keep doing what you are doing brother. I find you to be an excellent technician and I love the content you put out.
Just to be clear, I loved the two hour video.. I look forward to longer videos, but I also appreciate the time it takes to make them. For that, I thank you.. Very much!!!
You going full 6 year old is part of your charm and what makes this channel interesting to watch. But you always have safety first in everything you do.
Throwing brake clean and yelling ANOTHER!!... is totally yours.. along with "what is problem?" in a Russian accent. Both are great. Ray makes slinging wrenches seem fun again.
Thanks Ray, the owner certainly loves his Impala as she looks pristine for a 9-10 year old baby. Enjoyed the video and also loved the 2 hour Yaris job as well so thanks for doing them that long. Also never ever give up the can throwing it lets of steam and adds a certain disrespect for things that may go boom. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘❤❤
Strange, maybe, but I love the longer videos/jobs. It's just like flipping on the television when hour long programs were more popular than short videos, streamers, and silly little tic toks.
I, as others, get tired of seeing a lot of the same things, but I also know that I can watch something else. Complaining about it is ludicrous. You just do you, Ray. I love you man and appreciate you for just being you. In my humble opinion you are one hell of a technician and a funny guy. Keep dropping your nuts! 😂 You can't make everybody happy.
Ray what I love about your videos is that you never make fun of the owners or their cars despite some cars seem like an animal was living it it. You just focus on the job and politely move their mess to one side.
In our shop, we discovered that cleaning the bore of the caliper was helpful in removing old lubricant. Eric O on SMA uses these bore brushes and long Qtip devices to clean the bore. In addition, we also discovered that pistons were hanging or unevenly applying pressure due to pitting. Pitting was caused by contamination of the brake fluid. Many shops don’t promote brake flushes or power steering flushes, but they’re just as important as replacing your other fluids.
The freedom to throw empty cans of brake kleen whenever and wherever he wants was the REAL reason behind opening his own shop!!! (Don't deny it, Ray, I got you pegged!!)
I stand corrected. I always thought Ray got his own shop cause he was tired of making money for other people while he did all the hard work for a measly paycheck. Huh.... So then, I guess he's living the dream: borrowing thousands of dollars, taking chances of really bad credit to throw cans around at things for cheap thrills and low level amusement. 🗽Only in America folks.🗽
I am a diy all day long mainly because im kinda broke 😂 so i love watching all the content including the fluid exchanges. I do work on my daily(14 Cadillac) and my landlords fleet. (10 if im remembering correctly) I'm pushing 50 years old and i never stop learning. Keep throwing those cans and 14 cadillac srx videos are always appreciated
Humor is a great way to reframe things and reduce stress. I get that the can throwing isn’t for everyone but we’re all different just accept that and move on. Keep up the great work and attitude Ray.
Hi Ray, no matter how professional we do our jobs, your gonna have " A Holes " complain. If you don't like what you see, don't watch! Personally i enjoy watching your videos, fluid exchanges are a part of preventive maintenance. Just keep doing what you do best, making videos and repairing vehicles.
Great 10:15 explanation on reason to grease calliper slide pins. I have been telling people for 10yrs+ exact same thing...to aLwAyS Lube calliper pins when doing brske job, so the brake pads can re-center on disk/rotor for even pressure every time you step on brakes, and release both pads when foot comes off brake. If slide pins are not 14:52 well lubed as you show, your new brake pads can drag/rub even when foot is off brake pedal, causing brake pads to wear out un-even and MuCh faster. (It is surprising the number of people who replace brake pads but give No Thought to greasing slide pins) Sometimes those rubber cups on tip of those pins will trap air on hole, and want to push pin back out.
Hell yea Ray !! For just a second there ya had me going...Had me 1/2 convinced you're going to place empty brake clean can in trash....Then you threw it into parking lot !! (BUT ya still forgot the traditional accompaniment noise) We forgive 'cause....pranks require a solid effort into set up. Please Sir Ray....take a bow.
I prefer to watch the whole service with the fluid exchange personally. It makes more sense when watching the repairs. Your the boss so do it your way and I'll be happy
You are an adult, therefore no fun is allowed!!!! Jeeze ppl, life is serious enough jokes etc where invented to cheer ppl up, make them laugh and well just plain old not take things so seriously! Ray I find it funny, you do you and dont let anyone try to tell you what to do in YOUR OWN SHOP and on YOUR OWN CHANNEL. Ppl forget that most ppl our age do indeed have some common sense for goodness sake. Do whatever makes you, wife unit and your family happy. Have a great blessed day
We owned a 2004 Chevy Impala LS with 3.8 liter engine, best car that i have ever owned, after 18 years of driving, still had original Alt. Water Pump, Radiator and Shocks--it finally got T-Boned on Shopping Center Parking Lot--Totaled...
When I was doing these brake repair jobs in the 70's and 80's we never had a piston compression tool....I'd just loosen the bleed nipple and shove a big screwdriver or tyre lever in there to push the pistons back with the calliper screwed back on and the brake pads out. Oh! One more thing, rotors were called "discs." "Rotors" for us were that gadget on the end of the dizzy shaft.
I have to agree the comment before mine. You feel like throwing empty brake cleaner cans? Then do so. It's ya signature move. Plus it's your channel. Do as you please!
DO NOT STOP DOING “ANOTHER!!!” We love it! My son gets upset at my husband when he doesn’t do it after he’s done with a bottle of brake clean. 😂 Haters gonna hate.
Hey Ray, I like when you throw the empty brake clean can and the sound effect when you present the can. That's the only reason I watch your videos. 😂 Cheers!
Hi Ray: Can you add a link to that tool socket/polisher you used on the hubs and around the wheel studs? Love your channel, thanks for all you do. And, keep throwing those cans, we love it!!!
I personally love the brake can throwing. I called you out in a past video, for you not throwing the empty can. Just because you normally do it, it’s your signature move and it’s all in having a bit of fun.
A bit of fun and humour thrown safely in to your day is good and also one of the reasons why we like this channel. IF you don't like it - then feel free to find yourself ANOTHAAA!😂
Instead of complaining about the length of the vid, you neverhappies should be in awe of an honest hardworking auto repair engineer. Ray is a national treasure.
You good Ray lol
DO NOT lose your sense of humor! Screw the haters... and KEEP ON throwin' them cans!
The people whinging about flinging the empty brake cleaner tins around have never had to work a day in their lives. Ignore them, Ray, as you will... 😂👍
Next time he pulls out two cans and there's another empty one around let's encourage him to juggle.
I toss empty cans around all the time. Don't see a problem with it. It's your shop. You do you. If they don't like it, they don't have to watch. I'm 40 plus yrs wrenching and tossing. Never had a can blow up on me yet. Unintentionally that is lol. Shit, I'm old
I throw empty carburetor cleaner and brake cleaner cans around all the time myself and never had one blow up
The people wh complain about Ray tossing cans around, they should grow up.
There will always be mad people around us...
As per say, a can of brake cleaner, $19.
Paper towels for cleaning the floor, $5.
The satisfaction given by hearing "ANOTHERRR" and seeing a can being flung across the room until it stops moving, priceless
I love how the brake flush machine turns a two-person brake bleed job into a one-person job. Nice!
The super secret 2nd channel is where the shenanigans happen.
“Up to 88 miles an hour.” Nice reference to “Back to the Future.”
Keep doing your break, clean routines, and other fun stuff you do. You have the best auto repair information on RUclips and make it fun.
I like ChrisFix too
Spelled brake wrong, but we get the point 😊.
S.M.A is probably the best but Ray is up there in the upper echelons.
Definitely
Okay, regarding throwing the empty cans of Brake Kleen across the shop and people complaining about it. Reminds me of what a mechanic told me about his smoking in his shop. 51:00 It seems when Ray is explaining the fluid process that the blue handed glove is the one speaking. Since we never really see Ray.

I like the throwing of the brake clean cans, its mildly funny and re-leaves stress 💯
If you can't have fun at work it gets monotonous & complacent, creating safety issues, in my opinion.
So have at it Dr Ray, enjoy.

I actually don't hate the fluid exchanges. Keep them coming. There is something cathartic about watching them.
"Impact Gun Cam" was awesome - it really gave a sense of how much those things kick back to the operator.
I sincerely appreciate when you throw the empty brake clean cans! Throw ANOTHER!!

Some people just didn't know what fun is your not acting like a kid your just doing a job your so cool ray 💪👍👍
Throwing brake clean and yelling ANOTHER!!... is totally yours.. along with "what is problem?" in a Russian accent. Both are great. Ray makes slinging wrenches seem fun again.
Safe and road worthy and in a good reliable condition....just like our Ray.
And just a little crusty around the edges
I did not know that brake clean existed until your videos. I now use brake clean for everything. THROW THE CAN!!!
Never stop throwing empty brake clean cans! It's uniquely you. As others have said it's your signature move! ANOTHER!
Brake clean ridiculousness is everything Ray! Haters gone hate
6:06. I think I see a large hose that is disconnected.
42:58. It magically connected itself during the brake repairs. 😂😂
Thanks Ray, the owner certainly loves his Impala as she looks pristine for a 9-10 year old baby. Enjoyed the video and also loved the 2 hour Yaris job as well so thanks for doing them that long. Ray please keep recording and showing everything. We like it!!!
Ray, I think that is by far some of the grodiest brake fluid you've ever had on this channel.
The brake clean antics are the best part!
I'm actually glad you did the brake fluid on this one. That fluid looked SO BAD. I wanted to see the destruction.
You just focus on the job and politely move their mess to one side.

found when I ask for flush most of time was not done. except the reservoir. 😢
Eric O is the master. If you want to learn how to do brakes (or anything for that matter) Eric is the man...
A lot of shops don’t do brakes properly that’s why I do my own and every two years or so I flush out my brake fluid
Never Stop Throwing things Ray! the Internet Loves that
The freedom to throw empty cans of brake kleen whenever and wherever he wants was the REAL reason behind opening his own shop!!! (Don't deny it, Ray, I got you pegged!!)

@@terminallygray Well yeah, that too!🤣
ANOTHER!!! For goodness sake people, let the man have a good time. Keep on rocking Ray, great vids bud.

Humor is a great way to reframe things and reduce stress.
I get that the can throwing isn’t for everyone but we’re all different just accept that and move on.
Keep up the great work and attitude Ray.
Keep doing it, I did my nieces brakes today and threw the brake clean Lol
"These are fancy coated rotors"
Proceeds to cover them in rust and then brake clean them when the instructions tell you not to
When compressing caliper pistons I have used a large c clamp and one of the old pads for decades. Works well. Never an issue.
2 things we love in this house...
The brakekleen intro sound...
And
The can getting tossed in the stress relief mode...
Keep it up Ray
I've started chucking break clean can and yelling another. Don't stop!
Ray, throwing the brake cleaner across the shop is one of many reasons as to why I keep watching your videos
Good morning! Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.

We love “ANOTHER” & now actually do the same, long live the fun!!!!! You still need a doo diddy doo doodle phone ringer Ray 😉
Morning Ray. It’s time for another good video checking out the Malibu.
Watching you work makes me miss working on cars
I prefer to watch the whole service with the fluid exchange personally. It makes more sense when watching the repairs. Your the boss so do it your way and I'll be happy
"Another!" Love it, and now do it at home.
Very cool Impala logo on the wood grain!
Nice design!
I broke out with laughter when you said it was cold and showed the temperature at 76. I live in Maine.
76 deg. COLD. Thats still shorts weather up north. Blood really got thinned out in Michigan
Keep throwing empty brake clean. It’s your shtick. Love it and keep throwing it
Hey Ray, I like when you throw the empty brake clean can and the sound effect when you present the can. That's the only reason I watch your videos. 😂 Cheers!
Throw em! I do it too. You've inspired me. Despite the fact that it's knowingly unsafe.
Part two of this car would have been awesome to see the rest of the services.
I like the full service videos, showing how to flush and replace fluids, helps me to service my own vehicle
I just show up for narration, viewpoint perspectives and critical analysis.
Thank you for nat being another music channel with wrenches. 😬😆
Hi Ray: Can you add a link to that tool socket/polisher you used on the hubs and around the wheel studs? Love your channel, thanks for all you do. And, keep throwing those cans, we love it!!!
You brought the Michigan weather back with you to FL.🥶
Ray just have fun while working safely
I personally love the brake can throwing. I called you out in a past video, for you not throwing the empty can. Just because you normally do it, it’s your signature move and it’s all in having a bit of fun.
keep the brake clean, only the fullest of brake clean sends will do Ray
I like watching fluids services.
I enjoy watching your teaching style. I wish you had another young person there to teach to be as good a technician as you are.
I find throwing the can very entertaining
And stress reliever
I love the brake clean throwing videos they are hilarious and fun 😂
A bit of fun and humour thrown safely in to your day is good and also one of the reasons why we like this channel.
IF you don't like it - then feel free to find yourself ANOTHAAA!😂
Ray sound effects for the spray cleaner. Keep throwing the empty cans YES have fun
I don’t have a problem with long videos! I will watch whatever you want to show!
I love this channel. I am mechanically challenged. But it's nice to see what mechanics deal with on a day-to-day basis.
One thing I do every time I change my oil is spray silicone on my CV boots and other rubber parts to keep them from drying out.
Good reminder on why brakes need care also😊
Nice Impala - Good to see !
The Brake Caliper Press is the best. makes changing pads so much faster.
Personally, I enjoy seeing the fluid flushes. I take these types of videos to my own mechanic and tell him to do that.
I like to see fluid exchanges....something I can do myself on my cars.
I watched both of the previous vids and though I didn't learn any thing I didn't already know, It was enjoyable anyway.
My dogs love the long video. She can lay down with me for a longer time period.
