If you have 1000 platinum coins you can shoot the coin gun for like 5 minutes and you are out.... Even with gold coins you run out pretty fast, and they dont deal as much damage as the platinum coins... The highest amount of coins I have ever had is just over 150 platinum on co-op world I have with friends. To get here I mainly just faught the EoC a lot and just sell everything. Also fishing and then selling everything gave me so much
Honestly you may as well beat moonlord for the last prism and set up a pumpkin moon farm in the sky with conveyor belts. It would probably be faster. Nonetheless, I respect the grind

He can see all of the blocks on his screen that are underground without any light sources or obvious potion effects, is that a texture pack or something that can be changed within the games graphics and brightness settings?
