I’m starting to think Nates house is the place to hang out during the summer. The Italian soda fridge. Next we’ll have to see his bbq station outdoor kitchen setup.
This is really cool it has a vintage look. The fridge has a 50’s look while those awesome labels have a early 70’s vibe. You have something really good going with this channel and I hope it does well for you. I’ll be looking forward for more great stuff.
I was thinking the same thing. It reminded of the good show "King of Restoration". In this case, Nate didn't just restore something modern but added that little vintage look which are always beautiful cause they are flamboyant with thier design in a simple manner.
This is a great break from the tkor content, I love to watch this, it feels like I'm watching a small RUclipsr that will eventually become big one day.
Puttin Swig outta business with this build 😎 Glad you're doing your own thing. Grant would've wanted you to be independent. TKOR just outgrew itself and the content became childish, that's when it fell from its perch. You and Calli were the real backbone of the channel before and after Grant's passing. It shows in your content and passion. Never stop, never stopping! Good luck, Nate!
A couple of tips from a hobby woodworker. First when you make a thin trim cut along the fence put a spacer block against your fence to keep the work from binding. Find a good video on how to make a cross cut jig for your saw. It's much safer. Check out CMT blades for your saw. A bit more expensive but last forever. Lastly check into a Kreg jig for pocket hole edge jointing (or any other pocket hole jigs for that matter. They make edge jointing a breeze. TKOR's loss is our gain. Love your channel. BTW, loved the retro look you gave the fridge.
Instant Grant and original king of random vibes from this. Projects like this brought me to his videos. Glad to see you are carrying it on your own. Keep it up.
It’s good to see you doing you, I found you on TKOR, RIP Grant, you’re going to do amazing things!! Things happen for a reason, you are now set free!!! Amaze the internet that you are from lol!!!!
Could you please do a "SAME Recipe" episode involving your Italian sodas? Inspired by your Italian soda drink station, my two sons and I built our own Italian soda station (so far we have twelve Torani flavors). One of our main purposes was to steer away from traditional sodas (Pepsi, Coke, Mountain Dew, Dr. Pepper, etc.) and start making our own using less ingredients, so not just creating the more traditional creamed Italian soda. We noticed a difference when creating the sodas based on the various types of carbonated water we used (club soda versus seltzer water for example), different brands, etc. For example, two tablespoons of Torani Lime in eight ounces of seltzer water tasted different than the same two tablespoons of Torani Lime in club soda. With it going into summer time various versions of sodas, Italian sodas, etc. seems like a wonderful video for us fans to enjoy. Your various food videos (both on your channel and with Cali from the TKOR channel) are some of our favorite RUclips videos on the internet as it was always so interesting to see how different foods would react in different ways, or what happened when the same food was cooked different ways, or finding the best way to prepare a food and discovering why that is the best way to prepare it. Thank you for any consideration you might make towards the Italian soda idea and just for reading the comment in general. You have three huge fans between myself and both of my sons! Thank you for your years of making such quality content on RUclips!
I like it! It’s functional and makes use of something that wasn’t being used. Also yes, biscuit joinery isn’t to be looked over and ignored. Nice one Nate.
Dude, I'd LOVE to see a version of this which had its own carbonated water system integrated into it much like the "SodaStream" units but...ya know...not overpriced as hell and with refillable CO2. Kinda like a mini fridge designed to hold a keg of beer, but modified for soda water instead.
Well done Nate. Maybe you could add a thing like a soda stream to it and make your own soda water up. That would save on you having to by the unflavoured soda water and as long as you kept water in your fridge you would never run out ofsoda water 😁😁
This is so cool! In school I did woodwork for a while and I really loved it, this is making me wish I could do a course for it. Not that my house is roomy enough for all that equipment lol. Still, I love this video, it's such a great idea too.
One type of video I addition to the build videos (which are already amazing) which I've always wanted to see is a video of how you go about planning a project like this. I've seen so many people on the internet make amazing things and tutorials on how to do the same thing, but I've never seen a video on how design a project like this.
Obviously its not good to "forget to film" things you're supposed to film, but it's really nice how a personal channel can just be upfront and admit that because there's no brand image to upkeep. It's direct, honest, and lets you understand and feel the uploaders pride and pain that went into making the video
Last thing on a build. Total cost? I get it you got the tools , but materials and time? Something to think about now that you're independent. Its a nice little touch at the end
Next get a corny keg and CO2 bottle and keep a keg of soda water in there. Those particular Danby fridges are very popular for kegerator conversions. Could even snake in a water line through the condensation drip hole and use a special lid to make it auto refill.
Im sure the offset front will trigger some people, but Im very much in favor of asymmetric design. It often feels like it takes less thought to make things symmetrical look good.
Nate it would be cool if you install a water carbonater like mr.butler and store water bottles in fridge and carbonate them whenever you want a drink. That would be pretty cool.
I see you are using metal drill bits on wood. Try wood bits, those work a) a LOT faster and b) cleaner. They don't cost an arm and a leg, but the results make a huge difference!
Can you make a device that can automatically clean glasses/eyeware? It's rather difficult trying to hold my glasses in a way when I clean them so that I don't end up accidentally smudging them again
I had a friend who had a stroke and all her stuff was moved to storage. This year she wanted her mini fridge and asked for my help. The fridge stunk so bad, it turns out who ever moved all her stuff to storage didn't check the freezer section of the fridge so there was something rotting in there for several years 😂
Great video,, Nate.. And great job on the drink station.. Just one question: where did you get the flavor syrups and dispensers? Just curious... Maybe you could put a link to those in the description...
@@NFTI give it some more time. People will start looking for you, once they see that you are gone from TKOR. You and Callie made it fun to watch. Been trying to find Callie's channel as well.
This feels just like the Old King Of Random videos, and it’s very nostalgic
Nate got the same feel as grant if he makes his own vidoes bummer tkor dropped him.
Really like that the emphasize is on "random"
Just whatever project or experiment he feels like.
I use to love the old project videos
The king of random channel has pretty much died
At least this will hopefully be a successor

He’s gone from sucking at games to being from the internet, amazing content either way
Noooo he’s deleted all the gaming vids, I’ve lost all my hearted comments :(

Grant Thompson's successor, happy to see you making the most out of a crappy situation.

Really nice build but, I have to warn you, I haven't in my whole life seen anything like that served anywhere in Italy :)
Same here. I wonder if he was trying to make spritz. Cool project though.
That’s because Italian Soda was invented in America lol.

This is really cool, great job Nate
This truly reminds me of the old youtube style, thanks Nate.
First time hearing about this beverage. Nice design and decorations!

Might I suggest Pocket screws (kreg jig) for the corner joints on the case work instead of the L brackets.
