I have a booth as well, and it REALLY upsets me that they changed the tags. One of the reasons we write what the item is on the tag is so that the people checking out can make sure that that is the correct item. I think the antique mall owes you some money off of your rent because had somebody checked they would’ve known that it was not a galvanized bucket. I am extremely busy today, but girl, when you put a video out I stop everything and watch. I really hope that you continue to document everything because we absolutely enjoy it.
I was in the process of writing a similar response, because that happened to me one time before as well. The people at the front desk need to be knowledgeable enough to know what items are worth so that they can make sure no one is switching tags. I had an item priced at $450 sell for like $28 because someone switched the tags. The mall ended up giving me a month's rent free.
These thieves don’t realize the blood sweat and tears that goes into the research, the hunting etc. that it takes to fill a booth or get your inventory where it needs to be even for online sales. Makes me wonder if she does backtrack the sale of the “bucket and “I wonder if she would see it for sale on marketplace.
I couldn’t agree more. I expected some help from the antique mall owner’s, but they did nothing. I was extremely upset when I was told I could not put up my own camera or a sign in my booth that I pay for & I was going to purchase my own camera. They didn’t care!! I take pictures every time I go in to restock my booth & was able to show them the missing items. I’m no longer there and I have a new booth in a different location and they are amazing when I have any issues. I have not had one thing go missing. A couple of tag changes but the company reimbursed me.
You could always let the future buyer of the gold couch know you have a matching love seat available. You are doing better than you think and everything looks great!
I just sold a leather sofa and loveseat to the same person this month out of my booth. I had them priced separately, but they wanted both of them, so it worked out.
Sure, just jot it on tag. Bonus....I love how edited your booth is, but your storage areas are hidden gems. What about Polaroids of some similar items. Like ,if you like this, you might like this.
Antique shopping today, I reached a big vase down to take a look at the bottom for a maker's mark, and a candy wrapper fell out. I had a good laugh to myself. I'm in Georgia, so it's probably not the same folks. ;)
I'm a booth owner in an Antique Co-op and for sure the gas prices are hurting everyone's sales. Also, can I just say that Gold Sofa against the black wall looks sooooo good!!!! LOVE it! Great job!!
I've noticed a big drop in sales. I'm downsizing one booth at a slower location and just keeping my "smalls" there. They seem to be doing better than my bigger, nicer items. I just opened a new location last week. It's in a very busy location in a nicer town. I have higher hopes for that location. I'm seeing gas prices slowly going down but now we're rolling into Christmas so, fingers crossed we all make some sales through the winter 🤞
That smirk when the photobomber stole your perfect landing…..I gotta say, you have the solo moving of big things down. Sure it’s easier with help, but you know how to use fulcrum, balance, and 5hat is no small task. Kudos. And …. Wait for it……. 👍🏻😹😹
To answer your question, I was in a large vendor mall which closed in November due to new owners of the building. They finally found a new place in a different town and I moved back in and sales are really good, just like before, so far. I also had a tag changer of a toy truck from a 60.00 truck to a 5.00 truck. The mall knew who he was and I called him and actually got the truck back. He claimed a mistake......
Amanda, yours are the only videos I check for notification! I so love your "being raw" and real, and the style of your picks and booth. You are an inspiration. I'm getting inventory ready for my first booth and hope to be up and running first of June. Take care of yourself during this busy time for you!
I am also a booth owner. Things have slowed way down for me. Not sure if it's the gas prices or the horrible Michigan spring weather we are having. Probably a bit of both. I "fluffed" my booth 4 days ago and have not sold one item! Scares me a bit. I have dealt with theft also. In a couple of instances, I have suspected a fellow dealer in the store. Nothing I can do about it. The store owner always claims that it must have been set down elsewhere in the store. Things never resurface though. Just part of the business. Still bothers me, especially when it is a higher dollar item. You are not alone with your worries and thoughts. Love your style and candor.
Hi Amanda, been following you for a while from here in England. I have a whole room in a large vintage/antiques and contemporary hub. I felt your pain when you realised your tags had been switched out! It happens and is so hard to prevent. I hope Karma bites these individuals in their backsides one day. I am always thrilled to see a notification from you. Your styling is amazing. Can't wait to see your Lucketts video. Business is impossible to gauge here, its all over the place at the moment.
Wow, great pieces. I remember all the loading and unloading and getting my booth organized very well. I'm tired just thinking about it. I had tickets swapped on me too. I had one customer change out their old boots and put on a pair of new boots I was selling and just walked out with them on her feet oooh but she did leave me her old ones with the bottom coming off. I was furious LOL, I just had to realize that she needed them more than I did and moved on. Sending out blessings to keep you healthy and strong.
Amanda I really enjoy your videos. I think your booth looks great! I know there are terrible people in the world that steal with no conscience - but in this case the employee that rang it up bears some responsibility for that not checking the description on the tag. I hope they at least give you credit on your booth rent.
At my antique mall they have to type in the description, so there really shouldn't be an excuse for not noticing the difference between a bucket and a 3 tier shelf.
Tag changes stink for booth owners like myself. It amazes me that people don't stop and consider all the time and work that goes in to procuring the items we get before they steal them. My sales have dropped tremendously over the last few months as well. I'm keeping faith that it will bounce back 🤞 Your fluffing looks great. What an amazing eye you have!
Hey girl! Booth looks amazing as always! Thieves are everywhere and more are coming out of the woodwork. I had more than $100 in merchandise stolen in a single day this month. The woman picked up a duffle bag from a booth and worked her way around the store stuffing it full and walked right out the front door. Brazen, right? Anyway, it sucks it happened and I'm sorry :( Love your styling and your videos. Please stay safe and warm!
I had a set of three glass nesting ashtrays and the smallest one was stolen month before last. It makes your heart sink to think that people would be so low as to steal like that. Thieves have no conscience.
Re: the arrowheads There are LOTS of different shapes of arrowheads. Just from the short view on the video, both of the ones you found in the cabinet look correct.
First I love to watch you. I don't usually comment. I have been a booth owner for 6 yrs in MD. People do some crap stuff sometimes. I learned I have to write in detail on my tags what the piece is and the team at the flea pay attention to what the says the item is. Is there is a question they call me. I also tea stain all my tags myself so they know my tags. I hope this helps. Good luck at Lucketts! I am going to try to come this year. Hopefully I'll get to see you and your display!! Oh and sales have been good for furniture since tax money has been flowing.
Thank you for another great video. You have such an artistic vision...I envy you in your ability to visualize. Your “fluff” perked your booth up so well. Hopefully your booth sales will pick up. You are wise to focus on Luckett’s because you sell a lot there in a short time period. Sending good thoughts.
Great redo on the booth as always. Your frustrations are all understandable and I have experienced them as well. Part of doing business is my attitude. Karma will always eventually get those who do wrong (insert dramatic music). I have a space at two different places here in greater Orlando. The traditional antique/vintage mall space has been incredibly slow for me. There have been good months, great months and not so great months. Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason following current events unfortunately. The second space is in a more boutique, specific style location with 40+ vendors. Everyone for the most part has a style similar to your own. At that location this month/March has been record sales, double what the best has been in the past. The venue is new as of last November even though it's just down the street from the old building. Better exposure and buzz have def helped us out in a big way. Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing because you do it oh so well! Thanks for the videos, entertainment, commiserating therapy and inspiration!
Amanda ... Looks FABULOUS ! That little French chair & the bl/ wh upolstured footstool/ rect faded gold mirror etc 👍 everything flows together & goes ... Looks high end / classy .... It's more than gas prices- food is high & a daily issue 3 + times a day.... That skunk who swapped the tags-- the mall needs to check the cameras ... he probably does it everywhere ... AND a little ha ha... the lady who stepped in front of the camera w/ that bewildered look -- priceless !! Can't even plan good stuff like that ! (+ the candy wrappers -- priceless ! 🙊) Got your stand-up routine almost done ?
Your booth is stunning! Thank you so much for your content, you are my fav RUclipsr. My sales were down last month too, but that is typical for northern Michigan this time of year. Now is the time when the "snowbirds" are starting to return from Florida and soon after that will come the tourists, so that will be a better test of how the rest of the year will go here.
OMG....had to chuckle with the lady walking by!! That was priceless. Sorry of the pricetag change. "Smile you're on camera" signs mught be helpful or "Thou shall not steal."
I am so relieved! I thought I was the only one who did the stall/booth stare. Lol. It takes that one shift of furniture and it comes together. As for the theft I've had this happen and it is so demoralising. If anyone has an idea to reduce this I'd appreciate it. Love the finished look. Very inspiring.
I so appreciate your style and creativity. That's why you're my go to, for inspiration. I'm so ticked off for you rgd the tag switch. If they only cared about hard you work (ill say it bc you're a classy person to not say it ...what a freaking jerk) I'm from NYC, we tend to be very nonfiltered in speech and emotions, lol. I wish you continued success in your life/business journey♡ PS please take care of your back, wear a lift belt, just saying..
Wow! You killed it! Your booth looks fabulous! That gold couch with the black wall with all the frames looks amazing. What a shame that a customer would “steal” by changing tags. They are going to strike again cuz they got away with it! 😖 How you pick up big stuff…😲😬 keep these booth fluffed videos coming! I ALWAYS look for them! My fav along with your diy repurposed furniture. Can’t wait to see Luckets! ❤️🔥
I'm close to buying a camera for my own booth because I WILL go back and look at footage if I find something odd happening in my booth because you can't really trust the antique mall to take the time and look at the store's camera footage.
Amanda, nothing makes me madder than a thief!!!That took a real winner to change your tags like that. I’m so very sorry. I hope the workers at the front pay attention to each and every item they ring up. Me and my Sisters have two booths @ Sweeten Creek Antiques and Collectibles In Asheville. I have noticed sales have been stronger since the first of the year. Up from last year. Love watching you redo your booth and all your videos. 💖
Luv ur booth...u r deff a natural when it comes to displays....sorry bout the bucket jerk....best of luck at ur big shiw...thanks for sharing soooo much with us.....wish i lived closer....luv and light from boston
Have to give you kudos for all you do. You work so hard, have amazing display skills and an infectious personality! I enjoy your videos so much. Can't wait for Luckett's, last year your set up was so impressive. You deserve sponsors, so we can have Amanda's Mercantile footage all the time. I wish you the best, a super Amanda fan!
I'm from Montana. Our sales have been very good I always try to put what the item is on the tag you always do a marvelous job.Working the booth is the key for me
Hi, I have 2 booths in different malls. March sales were great at 1 mall & not so great at other mall. I am expanding to a 10x20 at the mall where sales are not so great in effort to be more visible. Hopefully that will increase sales. Can downsize, if it doesn't improve sales. This particular mall is just 12 minutes from my house vs mall w/ good sales is an hour from my house. Love your style & have learned a lot from watching your videos! On the front section, maybe put one or 2 chairs on table w/ a few other smaller items or greenery. I am visiting that area in early May & hope to stop by FAM & see your awesome booth!
I’m an antique store manager (and booth owner) and March has been a great month for us! Located in Wichita, KS! Hopefully your stores traffic picks up too! ❤️ Loved the video!
Just love your style, alway excited for your booth resets and to see it all come together. I feel your frustration, its not a good feeling knowing someone took advantage of you. Have you considered having your own shop? In our small town, we have a real estate agent who has a store front with merchandise and then an office in the back for her real estate clients & paperwork. (She also owns and runs a bar with rooms to rent upstairs just a few doors down!) My mom and I have a home decor & gifts shop (10+ years) things haven’t been that great since Christmas. We expected a slow january but our sales are down for this time of year. Hoping things improve for everyone soon. 🙏🏻💐
Along with embracing color, maybe adding seasonal items. Many people looking for decorative outdoor items this time of year as well. Flower pots, watering cans, garden tools.
Love this video! I am a vintage collector and I am actively looking into opening up a booth. I will be watching your videos for tips. You show that girls can move big objects and drill stuff and you set up and displays are awesome! It was very upsetting to see how someone switched out tags. Something that I will be conscious of in my new adventure. Thanks!🌸
You are a good picker. Always look forward to your videos. Sorry about the tag changer. Do you write what the item is on the tag ... like "galvanized bucket" or "wire stand." If not, it might be something to consider. That makes it hard for the creeps to get away with it. The cashiers will see it doesn't match. I've always done it that way and most dealers do in my part of the world.
Love love love your booth and how you style everything!! All the artwork is so drool worthy. Obsessed with that peach painting! I’m so sorry someone switched out those tags on you…that is so sucky. I sell online on Instagram and I have not been very consistent this year, but I will definitely have to keep my eye out and see if my sales go up or not because of gas prices!
I have learned so much by watching your videos!! I was at an antique mall purchasing several items and noticed a lady that had a roll of masking tape and a permanent marker on her arm I was curious and ask her how she was using that she said at the antique mall they always take the original stickers .on her piece of masking tape that she would apply to the items she was purchasing would be the price/what she was going to price it when she got home which I thought was a brilliant idea!!!!!
I just found Luckett yesterday by mistake after stopping at Roots Restaurant. I asked is this the famous Luckett's that has the big antique sale - yep!
Yes, first rule- always put name of item on tag. People can be rows. Your booth looks really nice, But I'm glad your starting to like color- not just cream and tan. Ask your older relatives for old curtains or throws. Vintage cloth of all kinds. Mix- Match old lace curtains. But be picky. Throw them around, try them all kinds of ways. But don't sale them cause nice ones are hard to replace and you want a lot of them so you can change them up to match your changing booth. Also, fake flowers and greenery splashed around here or there. They make really nice ones now and you can get them dirt cheap at yard sales in old arrangements ( behind graveyards) just kidding or not. Just pull the arrangements apart and use like you like, Keep a lot on hand so you can change them up. Wish I could come put in my two cents but I live in N.C. and gas is high here too.Good luck and I really like your taste in stuff.
I have three booths: one small, one medium, one large. One of the employees where I have my small booth said March was slow. The only correlation I’ve seen has more to do with weather than anything else. When it’s sunny and “nice” outside, fewer people shop the malls (but Home Depot / Lowe’s / garden centers are loaded). 🤷🏻♀️
Yes right the item on the tag. Or a number system of some kind. Also may be tag stickers that are harder to peel off. If the tag is peeled off the cashier people know something is off. It’s too bad some people are scammers. I love your things and your booth. Best of Luck.
Hi, this is my first time watching your videos. I enjoyed the booth refresh. You have a really great eye for items and esthetic for placement. I cant wait to see more. Cheers
I opened two booths 1st of March and they’re doing amazing although they’re in Seattle where there’s a huge population base that doesn’t have to drive far. Also sell online. I’ve been listing less because I’ve been so busy with the booths but sales are up on eBay specifically. Although not on Etsy
🗯The Las Vegas Vintage Market Days just happened this past weekend here and the consensus with the Venders is that this years April show was significantly down compared to the last few shows. Not sure if that has anything to do with the fuel prices or not. It definitely had a different vibe this year. There was far less “True Vintage/Antique” inventory compared to prior shows. Annnywho… thought I’d share. Adore your videos as always. Thanks for all you do girl🤗🤗🤗🤗
We have several We have 4 booths and 3 display cases in an antique mall in midUSA. We have been in the business about 8 years. We always sell more than our rent, but Feb. was slow - we had several snow days. March was a great month. I started out April we a major booth move. That means more rent! So I’m planning increased marketing and branding.
Absolutely I have noticed my sales and views on Etsy have gone down terribly since gas price started to rise! The positive side...I’ve spent less and have focused on cleaning up overflow and listing stuff I have on hand already. Hopefully the surge in listing will generate some movement.
Yes sales are good we do alot of lives they seem to do better than opening the shop. I have a big market coming up end of Aprill so we will see how that goes so much work to do! Everything looks great in your booth.
Yes, sales are down the last three months. I have owned a handmade and vintage store called Wilderlove in Delaware for seven years and I have been wondering what is causing it. We are stocked and ready but people aren’t buying. Gas prices make sense and just people worrying about the future. I think it will loosen up soon but I hope it doesn’t last. Love the velvet yellow sofa. Just discovered your videos, maybe I’ll come visit you at Luckett’s Market.
I love how you style your booth! I have two rooms in a vintage shop in Delaware and our business is a little slow during the week but the weekends have been busy and that usually makes my week. I am going to try to get to luckettes market at least one day because we also have a arts festival in our small town on the 21st. I can’t wait to meet you and see all your goods! I love those brass lamps I sell mid Century and they would definitely fit in! See you soon!
Girlfriend I was doing A LOT of bend and blow at my booth today too! I will learn to ask for help!!! Save the ovaries and don't try and do too much by yourself. Love you channel. 😘
Love your booth! I had a booth and someone stole a baby blanket that I made. I am still mad about it. God knows who they are! Lord will you fight this battle for me! He will I promise! Awesome job!
Loved the episode- once again, a piece of Virginia gives me warm de ja vu . The ticket crook will not be as cleaver each time, and get caught. Wonder if he resales. Elizabeth
Greetings from Western Australia again, Amanda you have such a flair for this, I was so discouraged to hear someone stole from you, especially when you work so hard. Whoever you are- you should be ashamed of yourself.
The moment where the lady was walking by and blocked the landing and the music you chose HA HA HA HA!!!! When you said “perfect timing” I laughed out loud and I rewound a few times 😆 If you had an unpaid intern to help you with Internet sales, I would’ve bought the daisy print painting. Also that brass lamp looks like it came from a stunning movie by Fritz Lang, from a 1927 called a Metropolis. Seen it?! ♥️🤓
So sorry about the theft. I hate thieves! My sales have picked up but I've also started doing youtube live sales along with my Instagram drop sales. So basically, twice the work. What has definitely gone up is my COG. And getting to my sourcing locations because gas is more expensive. My goal is still a booth or store in the future, but right now, i'm just trying to build up my clientle that will hopefully continue to see the value in the items im offering. Booth looks great, btw. and YES to color!

Wow- what a lot of work but it looks great! I love the blacks, golds, and wood tones. So pretty!
These are my favorite videos, love just seeing your week and what it takes to run your booth and get ready for your show
I so enjoy watching you redesign or restock your booth. Hope you real estate business is doing well.
Re: the arrowheads
There are LOTS of different shapes of arrowheads. Just from the short view on the video, both of the ones you found in the cabinet look correct.
You’re style is amazing and your Wit is what makes me love watching you !!

Love how and what you styled in your booth. It great you sold those big beautiful pieces.
You did a beautiful job styling your booth. 🦋

The venue is new as of last November even though it's just down the street from the old building. Better exposure and buzz have def helped us out in a big way. Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing because you do it oh so well! Thanks for the videos, entertainment, commiserating therapy and inspiration!
It's fascinating to see how you fluff/decorate your booth! It looks fabulous!!
Got your stand-up routine almost done ?
Your booth is stunning! Thank you so much for your content, you are my fav RUclipsr. My sales were down last month too, but that is typical for northern Michigan this time of year. Now is the time when the "snowbirds" are starting to return from Florida and soon after that will come the tourists, so that will be a better test of how the rest of the year will go here.
OMG....had to chuckle with the lady walking by!! That was priceless. Sorry of the pricetag change. "Smile you're on camera" signs mught be helpful or "Thou shall not steal."
I like your taste in choosing antiques, your taste is really sophisticated.
I wish you continued success in your life/business journey♡
PS please take care of your back, wear a lift belt,
just saying..
Oh my goodness! That hair color color becomes you! You look fenomenal!
When I was selling stuff in my booth people would buy whatever they wanted to buy, if they wanted it they bought it didn't matter ❤
I wish you the best,
a super Amanda fan!
Thanks!🌸
Never too many thumbs up…👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. In fact here’s a few more for you…..👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😹
Karma will sort the tag swapping man out! So cheeky!! Great stand… dream job 😊
I completely understand the green tape.... box for Etsy...stuff for market show...stuff for booth...leftovers for yard sale! Sigh😞
Amanda, I need that bathroom vanity you showed briefly!!🥰😍 With the marble top. That’s the Poly I use too.🤍👊🏻
I’m a booth owner and can I say I dislike thieves!! We work so hard on our booths! Everything looks beautiful Amanda!
Work hard and invest tons of money. Other than paying my bills, all my income goes back into the business.
Hi Amanda, sales have been good for me. I’m in NE Florida.
Booth is looking awesome! Hope you catch that guy who switched the tags! That is awful.
You have a very ‘JBS Mercantile’ vibe going, I love it!
When are you having a new video?
I have learned so much by watching your videos!! I was at an antique mall purchasing several items and noticed a lady that had a roll of masking tape and a permanent marker on her arm I was curious and ask her how she was using that she said at the antique mall they always take the original stickers .on her piece of masking tape that she would apply to the items she was purchasing would be the price/what she was going to price it when she got home which I thought was a brilliant idea!!!!!
I just found Luckett yesterday by mistake after stopping at Roots Restaurant. I asked is this the famous Luckett's that has the big antique sale - yep!
Would of love to see you go thur your cleanup of the Victorian washstand that you picked up from the auction.
Such a great eye! Thanks for always giving us tips on trends too!
I love the gold sofa, if I was there I would buy it❤❤❤
I absolutely LOVE watching your videos! You are such an inspiration!
Love the video, and the booth is even more beautiful in person!!!! Way to go!
Love your style. March has been pretty good in my booth this month except looking back at last year, March sales weren’t as good.
I absolutely love your videos. Such a natural talent. I wish I lived closer or you would deliver to Michigan 😜
keep up the good work!!!
These are my fave videos!!!!🥰😍😍😍
Love your design aesthetic.
Would love those bird prints and cloches
🗯The Las Vegas Vintage Market Days just happened this past weekend here and the consensus with the Venders is that this years April show was significantly down compared to the last few shows. Not sure if that has anything to do with the fuel prices or not. It definitely had a different vibe this year. There was far less “True Vintage/Antique” inventory compared to prior shows. Annnywho… thought I’d share. Adore your videos as always. Thanks for all you do girl🤗🤗🤗🤗
We have several
We have 4 booths and 3 display cases in an antique mall in midUSA. We have been in the business about 8 years. We always sell more than our rent, but Feb. was slow - we had several snow days. March was a great month. I started out April we a major booth move. That means more rent! So I’m planning increased marketing and branding.
So sorry someone stole from you, you work very hard and do a good job!
I love the sofa and your channe💕
Absolutely I have noticed my sales and views on Etsy have gone down terribly since gas price started to rise! The positive side...I’ve spent less and have focused on cleaning up overflow and listing stuff I have on hand already. Hopefully the surge in listing will generate some movement.
Ahhh I see you are avoiding the “L” word …. 🤣🤣. I think I could live quite happily in your storage unit…..
Just discovered your videos, maybe I’ll come visit you at Luckett’s Market.
love your Booth. Where are you miss seeing your videos.😊
Love your booth and how you style everything 😍
I love how you style your booth! I have two rooms in a vintage shop in Delaware and our business is a little slow during the week but the weekends have been busy and that usually makes my week. I am going to try to get to luckettes market at least one day because we also have a arts festival in our small town on the 21st. I can’t wait to meet you and see all your goods! I love those brass lamps I sell mid Century and they would definitely fit in! See you soon!
Great job. Love your energy. I would recommend some basic foliage. Something growing, green even if NFS.
Girlfriend I was doing A LOT of bend and blow at my booth today too! I will learn to ask for help!!! Save the ovaries and don't try and do too much by yourself. Love you channel. 😘
Looks awesome! Thank you for sharing another video!
Wuauu. Your booth are amazing. You have very beautiful antique items for sale
When you said “perfect timing” I laughed out loud and I rewound a few times 😆
If you had an unpaid intern to help you with Internet sales, I would’ve bought the daisy print painting.
