They teleport into the city, while we play over 100 hours and are still in Act 2 while never experiencing the bloody city except for the tease in the menu screen.

The city is in act 3 and the stories of the other games involve places other than Baldur's Gate too. I'm sorry what happens in the game isn't 1-for-1 what the title implies like Toy Story
