I'm no stranger to cursing, but I when I first met karlach and she drops that 'F* yeah!' I wasn't shocked but more like, 'wow, this literally sounds like someone at a game table reacting in-character. I love it. So Astarion's 'Oh for f*'s sake' just sent me rolling. It's just such a genuine reaction.
Oh, I've started my first actual game, and to put it shortly, while I wasn't right by the party(play a rogue), our pally tryed STR check to open a locked door, Nat 1, KO'd themself. So when I walk up my char sees the cleric slapping the pally in the face to wake them. My rogue: What in the actual FUCK just happened?

Honestly, though, this was, in a way, really, really messed up.
I tried.
I really REALLY tried.
I tried to play BG3, and I tried to enjoy all of it.
But while I enjoyed the graphics, the music, and the dialogue, the combat system was extremally frustrating.
Especially when the enemies would just run away/teleport and you'd have to use movement just to get close to them again.
It drove me nuts, so I stopped playing.
Fair enough. There's no cardinal sin in not liking a mega popular game.
I get it, the combat system is not really common and can be hard to get used to. :(( i’djust suggest playing it on the lowest level or even try mods
Its not for everyone, its OK
I was in the same boat as you. But I simply took the time to understand D&D mechanics and then I just steamrolled through every fight.
I mean, you gotta flex your creative muscle. You can't just button mash your way through the game. Use some strategy. Get the drop on your enemies. Sneak up on them. Throw grease bottles so they slip and fall and cant run. Freeze some water. Cast hold person. Use ranged weapons. Use some spells. You can approach combat any way you like.
Its dnd the game. If you dont like baldurs gate, I'd advise agaisnt playing dnd.
