The way Astarion tires himself out, looks to the rest of the party, and then gets a second wind from making eye-contact with them is making me lose it 😭😭
"and I think his blood was...acid? i'm not sure how that even works, like, anatomically" is so funny with the context of vampires literally having acidic blood in D&D lore
i can imagine an episode just dedicated to them fucking around with the whole approve/disapprove system and how Shadowheart can't make up her god damn mind

@@PriotechExcept you get your magic missiles reflected at you, to beat the frog you have to remove the mirror image spell it has casted on it by melee attacking it 3 times, then it becomes much easier to hit.

I can really feel this video: When I was playing, I saw a frog once at the swamp near the Teahouse. After some *croaks* and *ribbits*, the little frog started to fight my party. I laughed so hard at first, but that smile quickly turned into a horror expression... We all died horribly in TWO rounds. This is the only fight in the whole game I never tried again as I was scared with such power of destruction. Maybe bad luck rolls, but god, this little boy was terrifying.
This resonates so hard. My party was half dead, and saw the frog and was like "pff, I need just one guy to get you". Go with one PC to the frog, see 4 hp or something like that, was thinking easy stuff.... hit chance 3%, toxin downs the rest of party IN ONE HIT. By some miracle, one manages to strike the bugger down, but man I accepted the TPK in 2 turns
I'm very happy I always cast animal speaking on my bard after a long rest, I just encountered the frog, had a confusing conversation about water and it left.
I almost got everyone downed in 2 rounds and was only able to beat him because of Shadowheart making radient damage with sacred flame! and she only got lucky because it missed her once and didn't get the chance to K.O. her
I think they loved working on this game and love the fans so much that when they get asked to do “silly” videos like this (or Astarions “only fangs” video) that they seem to jump at the chance.

as someone who played a druid for the sole reason that I wanted to communicate with animals, I wasnt even aware the frog was dangerous lmao had a polite conversation with it, killed the hag to set it free, it showed me treasure as a thanks. And then my friend texted me demanding why I told her to speak to the damned frog who killed her entire party lol

It was safe and we were collecting treasures and looking at curiosities all around the area. Meanwhile the magician tells us that he is going to talk to a frog. We didn't pay attention to it, it didn't seem like something interesting. Suddenly, the magician yells at us begging for help. We could not believe it.

I'm in my 7th run, first time durge (trying my best to not romance Astarion THIS time) and never had any frog related problems and he always leads me to the treasure. Vexed about the frog related drama but so delighted by this! I want so much more of this! A series or a graphic novel or a radio adventure podcast. Anything really.
I think the best thing about this is that Auntie Ethel is canonically responsible for the frog going mad and attacking the party, so she literally got a free spleen out of a problem she solved instantly. She just messed with the party for no good reason and that is perfectly in character for her.

The secret is to hit it with Vicious Mockery or something similar. It has bad INT, CON and CHA Saves,
