In case you can't find it, the gist of the conversation is this: Druid Tav: "You can't feed on people, only animals." Astarion: "Ugh, okay. But, what do you consider an animal? Goblins? Kobalds? Gnomes?" Druid Tav: "Don't feed on anything that we can talk to." Astarion: "You can literally talk to animals. What does that leave me with? Rocks and trees?! Though I wouldn't put it past a druid to converse with trees too. But fiiiiiine! I shall do my best to feed only on the dumbest of animals."
It wasn't scrapped; you can trigger it after Astarion tries to feed on you while you sleep. The next morning, he will make a confession, offer an apology, and present terms where you can choose to allow him to feed on you, only on enemies, or only on animals. If you are also a druid, this option is accessible

A RUclips short of the first quote popped up on my feed, and I thought “huh, this is actually kind of funny.” Several rabbit holes and a few weeks later, I decided to try the game. One year and over 100 hours later, best decision ever😂
This is exactly how i ended up playing the game lmao but for number 1 scene. It kept popping and i became obsessed watching it whenever it showed up in my doom scrolling, and despite not knowing anything about the game or who astarion was. Now, I just want to replay the game again and again to find more of the funny dialogues lmao
Great list. One of my personal favorites is in the first chamber in the Temple of Shar with the repulsion field. Astarion gets bounced and yells, "What in the sweet Hells was that?!"
a little sad that my faves didn't make it into the honorable mentions: when you're in the adamantine forge fighting the construct, he'll scream about it when the mephits show up because WHY NOT, and then if he pulls the lever to bring the hammer down on the thing, he's triumphant but fumbles over his words like "HAH, take that you-- you... THING."

I think my personal favorite is when he throws the ball for Scratch but he’s too tired to fetch it - I saw it in a video and it still cracks me up every time I hear it
My favorite one is the one where he calls the party a bunch of weirdos. Partly because the first time I had that conversation, he wasn't wearing clothes because I'd put his armor on someone else and didn't notice before starting the conversation. So him saying that while weaing nothing but his underwear, gloves, a cape and boots made this line ESPECIALLY funny for me.
I had a funny moment where he said something like "we have a shapechanger in our camp? Good luck finding her" while disguised as a femme tiefling. The line alone isn't funny but in that context it had me cackling lmao
I got laughed at by a Twitch streamer for saying 'eyeglasses' because apparently, in that circle, there is only one type of glasses. I'm so glad I'm not the only one, it drove me into insanity for a bit 😂
Astarion reminds of Hades in Hercules (Disney) movie. They are ironic, sarcastic, hilarious, self assured (lots of self-esteem) and 10 year old tantrum boi. Love them both.
He has so many good lines, like when you meet the two other spawns and then you talk about him getting the powers but assuring you are still a team. Amazing. And when you meet the Gandriel lot in Rivington and she asks him if he is free of Cazador and Astarion goes Well I mean.. uh oh uuhhh... yes 😂❤❤❤
Let me tell you, folks, Astarion from Baldur's Gate 3-tremendous character, really. Some people are saying he's one of the best characters in the game, and I have to agree. You know, he's a vampire, right? Big vampire, loves to drink blood. Some people say he's very, very charming-maybe too charming. But that's okay because we like charm, don’t we? He's got that charisma, a lot of people love him, and he’s got a great look, folks, a fantastic look. Now, he’s been through a lot, folks. Some would say he’s had a rough life, but he’s a survivor, a real fighter. And let me tell you, no one knows how to survive better than Astarion. He’s got these powers-amazing powers. Some people say they're a little bit scary, but they're strong, very strong. And you know, strength is what you need in a game like this, believe me. And you should see him in action, folks-absolutely incredible. When Astarion gets going, it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. He’s got a lot of fans, and I’m not surprised. They love him. They think he’s great, and frankly, so do I. Astarion is winning, folks, and he's winning big.
It's the silly giggle and the higher pitch of his voice---I love it so much. He is such a doofus. If he doesn't like being upset, why is he so funny?! Missing moment: When you kick him in the groin. That whole scene is gold but probably doesn't fit the vibe of the video 🥲
I love all of these of course though with the earth quake in the honorable mentions i was missing the "what in the wretched hells was that?!" From getting blasted back at the Shar Temple haha

Everyone gets on Shadowheart’s case for being racist against githyanki, but are we just gonna ignore Astarion’s racism against gnomes? Shart at least had some reason given her bad encounters with the gith hunting her artifact and their general reputation. Astarion seems to have no real reason to single gnomes out.

It's much easier on a second play through, you just leave him far away enough for dialogue options where you know he will disapprove. And luckily he doesn't always mind you being nice xD Or use an approval guide, have definitely done that every now and then 😅

So the building where the toll collector is. There's a hole in the floor and barrels/loot crates all around. Just open them until you found the one with cheese. It's not a cut scene line but he has a line which I cannot remember exactly. But I was so surprised that he comments on the cheese.
@@Elderflowerpunch I think I know the crate you're talking about, but I've never had him open it. It has a symbol, as do two others because they are supposedly from distant countries/cities that the toll collector had collected (one even being the country/city of Thay, iirc, because it made me think of the Necromancy of Thay).
Unfortunately I can't remember the lines verbatim, but there was a bit of party banter I really liked (at least the gist of the conversation) : Wyll: You know Astarion, you're really not what I expected. Astarion: What, you knew vampires sucked blood but I just suck? (Wyll proceeds to talk about how admirable it is that Astarion has stuck by his love this whole time.)
Am I the only person who got Asterion's funny dialogue with the Vampire Hunter? I haven't seen anyone else's video of it or perhaps no one else thinks it was funny? Well, I think it was funny, too bad no one else does 😅😅
There is also that line he can have when you've opened the barn to the bugbear and the ogress having sex. After killing them, or before i don't remember, he says something around the lines of "oh, this isn't the worst i've seen, gnomes can be- well... let's move on." The funniest thing was that I was playing a gnome bard at the time. I love to think that Astarion didn't finish that sentence because he started talking, looked at my GNOME bard and realised keeping on with that thought was a bad idea XD Same at Malforge when choosing to save the gnomes. There is also that line he can have when you've opened the barn to the bugbear and the ogress having sex. After killing them, or before i don't remember, he says something around the lines of "oh, this isn't the worst i've seen, gnomes can be- well... let's move on."
The funniest thing was that I was playing a gnome bard at the time. I love to think that Astarion didn't finish that sentence because he started talking, looked at my GNOME bard and realised keeping on with that thought was a bad idea XD
