Horror and comedic would be good because of them being very specific genres to write for. Also something like a romance so you could show really intimate character development/ conflict in one scene.
Hi Vanity Fair! You are always on top of the game with your content. For a next genre, could you do a drama or coming of age? I would like to see how they think of such poignant lines of dialogue grounded in reality as opposed to this video, which was mostly centered on world-building and action.
What's more likely is that the attempt to correct the misspelling gave her brain time to think of a better line. This happens to me quite a bit when writing.
One thing I noticed is that Emily seems to have a very good relationship with her inner critic. The critic is certainly there, and it is helping her make quick edits and revisions, but she can just as easily stow it away and just try something without being overly fearful of writing something "wrong". I wish to learn this skill.

I've looked everywhere for a live writing session, animators do it artists do it, game programmers do it, but writers, of any kind rarely go through their process on youtube, they tell you about it, but never actually just show you. So valuable.
I really like seeing a young female screenwriter. I don't know why, but I always imagine screenwriters as older Steven King looking guys. (which is also fine, but shes a little easier for me to relate to)
When i first saw the lenght of the video i thought that it was too long and i wasn't planing to watch it all, and when it finished i was shocked because i was so invested, time went flying! Such an interesting video.
May I suggest a revision to your last sentence? Because you've already told the reader that you believe it is the best of YT 2019, don't you think saying 'I want to watch more!' Is redundant and already implied? I would recommend to trim the sentence or instead reach for involvement of the reader by asking 'who else wants to see more?' This question bounces off the redundancy in a playful and engaging way. Regardless, what I just typed is mostly satire. Enjoy!
17 minutes if you add the rest. And even then it was edited clearly so the counter was effectively pointless as any amount of time could've passed while she did this.
This seems like it could be a great series! You have a writer type up a scene under time constraints. Next video you have the casting directors do a one day audition sequence to get the characters, and show us quickly what goes through their heads, and why they do the choices they do to get the actors they want. Next a director takes the script, and story boards it, or whatever they do before shooting. And then they try to use time constraints to put together this scene in one afternoon! Then editors take the scene and finalize it! It would be amazing!

Why don’t you write a screenplay about an alien telepathically watching a human writing a screenplay, describing how the alien world is being transformed in real time because of it thanks to/ due to it?
Okay, first of all, Emily is a CREATIVE. I LOVE that. Her mind is always working, and she takes a note and vastly improves upon her original concept. I love the way that her mind works. Bravo, Emily. Bravo.
Honestly, everybody makes typos. Especially when you are under time pressure or you have many stuff you want to write and you get enthusiastic and start typing quickly (which means less, carefully). :P In the end, typos are mistakes that can be easily corrected once the script is done, so it's not that big of a deal if you misplace a letter or a space here and there...
Typos are inevitable. I'm absolutely gobsmacked that she doesn't know how to use commas or basic punctuation! I honestly thought that was a necessary prerequisite to being a professional writer. I guess now we have the technology that can fill it in for you. In any case, her creativity is equally amazing. I'm so impressed with how quickly she came up with the ideas and crafted a very interesting scene out of it. It was fascinating.

Such an interesting video.
it's so cool how i can literally see the scene she's writing play out in my head
This got be one of the best RUclips videos of 2019, so much insight on the writing process. I want to watch more!
Enjoy!

Edit: I enjoy any minute I get to watch Vanity Fair, it wasn't even meant negatively lol
17 minutes if you add the rest. And even then it was edited clearly so the counter was effectively pointless as any amount of time could've passed while she did this.
Easy to understand sped up to 1.25, too, so there's a version that's 20 mins =)

This seems like it could be a great series! You have a writer type up a scene under time constraints. Next video you have the casting directors do a one day audition sequence to get the characters, and show us quickly what goes through their heads, and why they do the choices they do to get the actors they want. Next a director takes the script, and story boards it, or whatever they do before shooting. And then they try to use time constraints to put together this scene in one afternoon!
Then editors take the scene and finalize it!
It would be amazing!

As a screenwriter myself, I love this challenge/technique.
I think it would be a great exercise for newer writers in the field to learn what's important in a script and what isn't.

you guys would've just used Celtx, which offers 90% of Final Draft's functionality, for essentially free.

Bravo.
Nice to know A-list screenwriters also make typos. That feel comforting!!!
Honestly, everybody makes typos. Especially when you are under time pressure or you have many stuff you want to write and you get enthusiastic and start typing quickly (which means less, carefully). :P
In the end, typos are mistakes that can be easily corrected once the script is done, so it's not that big of a deal if you misplace a letter or a space here and there...
I would NOT consider her an A-list writer
Typos are inevitable. I'm absolutely gobsmacked that she doesn't know how to use commas or basic punctuation! I honestly thought that was a necessary prerequisite to being a professional writer. I guess now we have the technology that can fill it in for you. In any case, her creativity is equally amazing. I'm so impressed with how quickly she came up with the ideas and crafted a very interesting scene out of it. It was fascinating.
Typos are normal.
