Yes I love the old school vintage modern too that is my dream for a house ..when I was house hunting I was like give me a so called outdated home in maintained condition..Im not a cookie cutter girl ..here on the island in NY people complain about that in the real estate market but I'm the oddball buyer give me the house of the couple who've lived in it for 50 years updated nothing but kept everything clean and well maintained ...I'm out here rambling lol 🤣🤣 got so excited from a tour 😍😍😍😍

Beautiful home. That "pass through" could definitely be a breakfast nook. I totally felt your pain when you talked about your back. I hurt my back a few month ago and only thing that didn't cause me excruciating pain was walking. Still have some residual pain months later. Wishing you total recovery.
The new place looks great!! Yes, I have a tv in my room, but I have decreased my tv watching drastically to maybe once or twice a week. BUT, I am addicted to RUclips watching which is an everyday thing for me.

Beautiful new place!!! In terms of TV in the bedroom, something to consider: sleep Dr's have told me to turn off electronics an hour before bed, first to minimize stimulus, plus the blue light. If falling asleep isn't an issue, then disregard. 🤗

When I rented, I changed out the switch plates. You can get handcrafted one or just regular commercial ones in a variety of patterns. Especially when you can't do much else (I don't think any of my old landlords would have wanted me to change the faucets), a beautiful switch plate is a small thing that can be done easily and taken with you when you go.
I absolutely adore this house. It is so dreamy!! Not gonna lie I was envisioning where I would put my things as you walked around. Internally I was going "oh *insert boyfriend's name here* could put his computer work station there" and "I love the guest bathroom, I will totally shower there time-to-time." A girl can dream hahah. I'm excited to see what you're gonna to the place! The roof beams look so much better white than when they were brown.
You are lucky your landlords let you paint the beams and other stuff. My landlords are so strict about me making any changes. I love the house. I'm curious like some other fans about the cost of a rental this size in California. Can't wait to see it after you decorate!

Love your new place. It’s really nice and spacious and your bedroom is massive! We have a small tv in our BR but to be honest we rarely turn it on. I’d much rather read or listen to soft music before going to sleep. Your dining room is bright and airy..so nice to have one..we use ours all the time for family & friends (pre covid). Glad your back is feeling better; be extra careful and take good care. Can’t live w/o heating pads..we have three lol 🥰

I have a tv in my room but when lockdowns started and I was laid off in March I made a strict rule not to turn on my tv during the day. It’s really helped me. I don’t lay in bed watching tv. Now I just watch it at night before I fall asleep.
