  • I cleaned up and painted the 1960 small block Chevy 283 4 barrel intake manifold I purchased in an estate sale a few months ago to resell. I am in the process of rebuilding a Rochester 4-jet to go with it as a package deal. That will be a future video.
    In this video I also show fixing up pealed paint on one of my vintage blow mold Christmas candles, the ones I use in front of the garage. My grandparents purchased them in the late 40's. My dad remembered them on their porch when he was a youngster.
    I also show some Mer-Cruiser Alpha 1 parts I want to sell. A complete good used lower gear set, from a drive I converted to counter rotation. I have lots of other parts too, including bellows, shift cables and trim senders. I have everything to do a complete bellows job, including the gimbal bearing.
    I don't want to ship this heavy bulky manifold, especially if it has a carburetor on it. I would need to make a wood box for shipping, so if your interested in it, you will need to pick it up in person!

    Hello Howard. That intake turned out real nice. You sounded ok even with a numb mouth! Lol
    I'll be watching for that carb rebuild for sure.

    Another great video! I just love the way you manage to incorporate so many different tips and techniques in all your shows. You teach us the correct way to do all sorts of things that have nothing to do with title of the video.
    Merry Christmas Howard!

    Hi Howard! Always look forward to your videos. Just plain old every day American life and it’s fantastic. I have been wondering how the new owner of the 66 was making out with the convertible. I miss the ride alongs you did in that car. Good times. Not discounting the 59 at all. Keep up the good work and may your health grow strong.

      Thank you. Often the new owner, Chris, leaves comments in my videos. He has it stored away for the winter, after a fun summer of driving it.

    I had one root canal last summer, not too fun! Glad to be rid of the tooth pain though.

    Owned a '66 Impala Super Sport convertible with 327 cu in. 4 barrel......never should have sold it....anyway...didn't know Chevy offered 4 barrel for the 283 cu in....learned something new

      Yeah, the "Power Pac" option. My friend Jeff owned a maroon with black top and interior, 66 Impala SS convertible. I overhauled the 250hp 327 for him.... this was back in the early 90's. His had the Powergllide, with power steering and brakes.

    Your dentist visit must have cost you a small fortune! At least you didn't have to have root canals! You've been through enough this year. I still have the original intake when my 283 was converted from 2 to 4 barrel. Do you think that's something I should hang onto? I'll never convert it back to a 2 barrel. Anyway take care.

      I have good dental insurance.... so far I have paid almost nothing other than insurance premiums. Keep your intake if it's the "original to the car" manifold. You never know, once you get rid of it it's gone!

    looks good, how do oyu keep any spray off your vehicles when spray painting or do you paint everything outside just curious you can tell us in the next video

    • @OldCarAlley
      @OldCarAlley  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I spray outside. When I paint inside, I have to back the vehicles out and cover everything in the garage. I have a huge box of non fitted bed sheets from estate sales to use as tarps to cover everything. Thats a pain, so thats why I try to do all my spraying outside, weather permitting.
