I recently made a sign using your method with painters tape. Didnt turn out the greatest so I bought a small roll of cricut vinyl. - this method turned out pretty good. Good instruction video

Warning: Laser cutting vinyl produces chlorine gas. Toxic and also corrosive to the equipment.

Nice simple projects with great results… very nice. I’ve purchased oramask and a transfer tape roll to accomplish this and other similar projects using a combination of other tools, but painters tape… thank you for doing this one and providing the link to the graphics. Someone could put quite a few together for next farmer’s market or street fair. Awesome!

Rustoleum, although any acrylic craft paint would work. when I do color fill. I use acrylic craft paints.

Really cool, now I have a question can you do one color let it dry then another then let that dry then tape then laser. Have you tried this yourself?

I tried doing this and the painters tape left a sticky kind of residue, any ideas on how to remove the tape residue, before painting?

I've never had that happen, but you could try Goo Gone

It's amazing what people can do in their own homes, now - Cricut, sublimation, 3D printers, laser cutters, etc. Let me know what I missed. I hope to get a laser cutter someday. My neighbor keeps stealing my dog, and I need to brand him. Just kidding! I just wanted to get the attention, and we all know how crazy people are about dogs. Replies welcome.
