As the proud owner of a Maserati GranTurismo 4.7S, I can’t recommend them enough. You’re essentially owning a 4 door Ferrari here. Pure Italian thoroughbred. Love this review.

this is the best revue i have seen on the Quattroporte ...I just bought one this month on a 2006 plate for £11000 with 3200 miles on the clock ! ....oh my god , if it only lasts me 6 months it would be worth every penny !! the quality is outstanding inside and out ,i have been a jag driver for years but this baby takes the biscuit !! 4.2 Ltr Ferrari engine 400 BHP absolutely beautiful insid and out !.....my life ambition was to own a Maserati and this is the one !! I foooookin love it !!!.....................bit thirsty though !! :)
I love that you get the kids involved, it's not just talking to the camera. Wholesome Petrolhead content is what the world needs more of! Also, fully approve of the Jelly Snakes as a sweet snack, regularly drop a bag for my nieces to share (Not all at once) along with a bag for adults to chomp down on (Between three of us, we do go through a bag in one go).
Love how your kids are doing their own thing as the car rumbles. My three year old son snoozes a few minutes after I put him in the backseat of a California, as if the sweet V8 NA roar is his sleepy music

Great videos! I'm now a dad with a driving teenager. She shared my passion when little like your girls, but it has faded with age. I was never brave enough to venture into the Italian car arena, looked at the Quattroporte, but stayed safe with the Germans. Just bought a 99 MB C43 to try and improve the driver education and maybe reignite some car interest with a cool car as she has struggled with the cool, but very large Panamera and is overwhelmed with my wife's manual VW GTI. Can't wait to see your future videos. Keep up the great the work!
Beautiful family mate. I have a 2016 Gran Turismo (same engine and platform) and I love it. It is not uncommon to see Gen 5 QPs with over 130,000KMs on the odometer, all original parts (except the wearable items like belts). Look into the extended factory warranty at your local Maserati dealership as they recently started covering cars for up to 10 years or 150,000KMs (whichever comes first). Your QP may or may not qualify for the extended warranty from Maserati but never hurts to check. Cheers.

@@dadcars Years ago I leased a 2015 Maserati QP (the newer Twin Turbo V6 engines) I did not like it but I love the Gran Turismo. At the time my (now ex wife) was not a fan of a two door car so due to me being married (at that time) I decided to get a sedan as it was more practical. Now that I divorced that hag and I can enjoy life again I decided to get a GT.🤣

@@JonWhitworth I would not worry to much about it mate, the Gran Turismo is pretty reliable for exotic car standards, just please keep an ear out for the camshaft variarator rattle noise (upon cold engine start up), it only effects about 1 in 20 F136 engines but other than that you should be good to go.
Just caught up with this video and had to watch twice because of your eldest daughter, she is a star I couldn't take my eyes off her antics and expressions, she reminds me of my granddaughter 👍🏼
I’ve got exactly the same model as you. ZF 4.2 with the flappy paddles and the same grille. Charcoal with cream interior but different wood and different colours on the dash and steering wheel. I absolutely love it and it’s one of the best cars I’ve had and very reliable. Engine is absolutely superb. Design wise it’s a work of art. Anyone who thinks these aren’t good just doesn’t have a clue.
@@dadcars so far it’s been extremely reliable. Other than routine servicing that costs about $450 NZD here at an independent, the only thing I’ve done is the cam cap modification (and that was my choice to do that preemptively) which cost about $1500 NZD all up.

@@dadcars later car so 12k or two year service intervals, average is about £2500 but really £5000 every other year, last year was a set of rear tyres at £550 because between services (and did less than 5000 miles due to covid and not using for work etc)

Give your quatroporte some love. The roof material is falling off, it needs to be glued back on. The sticky stuff can be fixed at a detailing workshop.

It's not that fast, but the soundtrack from that engine is worth it! BTW, my avatar photo is my car, not something nicked from elsewhere.
Two Italian stallions on the drive? That’s brave but brilliant! I love my QPV and it’s been so much more usable as a daily than I thought. Never had an Alfa, just jumped straight to this Maser for my first Italian car
@@JonWhitworth I'll stick my neck out even further and suggest another very left field alternative - a Saab 9-5 first generation, preferably an 04/05 Aero that has had a stage one tweak. A proper sleeper that will surprise a lot of supposedly fast cars even to this day.

Great review! The Quattroporte is a fantastic car, even with the Duo Select transmition, if you are willing to lift your throttle foot a bit at the right moment. I love mine a lot! A huge pleasure to drive! Cute girls you have!

Lovely car. I don’t understand why the Quattroporte M139 is still so cheap, Ferrari engine, Pininfarina design, and genuine Maserati can’t compare with Gilby quality. I think that car is so undervalued and especially in the UK.
They have a reputation for being costly to maintain… think there are a some neglected time bombs out there but if you buy right, you can get a very special car for not much money 😎
Christ, have you got enough kids 😂 Interesting car but honestly I couldn’t care less about someone else’s kids, they just annoy me, it’s not for me at all, running about after kids, I’m too selfish, I enjoy the luxuries, time with my other half and friends, travel and my cars. Most friends with kids have zero fun from what I’ve seen, marriages crumble, and sex seems non-existent!! The car is lovely however, I like the earlier version as it has a dry sump but shame the box and clutch are delicate.
