Fun video, I enjoyed the "video game" feel for the location selection!

I'm wanting to incorporate that a little more without going overboard. Glad you enjoyed it.

The rivers in WI are finally starting to calm down, so I'm going to be getting out more. Can't wait for more tannic water smallies!

Great video. I appreciate all the info. Last year was the first year that I spent a bunch of time on a river chasing smallies. I live less than 10 minutes from the Delaware river but never knew it had a good population of decent sized smallies in it until last year. So for me at least, this is all good stuff! Thanks Sammy

I have used the dark sleeper and get bites on it alot but my hookup ratio is terrible. Any tips?

What weight do you typically use and what kind of rod are you throwing it on?

@@RivermanTV- I have used 3/8 and 1/2 ounce. I think i usually run it on my fenwick hmg casting rod med/heavy. Use 30lb braid to 12lb fluorocarbon. Like i said i get tons of bites on em just not getting them hooked too often

@@bobdent572 well it sounds like your setup is right. I've seen fish throw them fairly easily when using the heavier versions but I tend to stick with 1/2 and 3/4. I don't have much problem landing fish on those. The only thing I can recommend is cracking them good when you feel a bite and maintain tension. I think reeling to hookset could lead to more losses on this bait. Also, and it may go without saying, but do your best to keep the fish from jumping. That's when I tend to lose fish on this bait.
