Can you do a walkthrough of this kayak setup? Looks killer for rivers! Enjoyed the breakdown.
I've been planning on it but I really need to bang it out soon. I'll try to get it up next time I have that kayak out on the water.
I have been waiting months for this video to drop. Thank you.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Great Video

Great video! I wanna learn all I can about the migration. Awesome fish man!
I'll try to incorporate some more info moving forward. Thanks!
Great content and info, I got a lot out of it, thanks!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for your support.
Awesome video man! Hoping to get out more myself this year. Tight lines!
Good luck out there!
20" is indeed a tank there! Congrats!! Surprised you had as much water as you did even if that far downstr. Way to nail it! Thanks for sharing.
There was a good amount of dragging but I was able to motor quite a bit. I'm still looking for that perfect ~2ft level on the gauge to hit it again.
Awesome video, man! Congrats on the 20"er!
Thanks!
Outstanding video. I’ve been struggling past few years in early spring in my local river. North Illinois, the Des plains river is a struggle for me. Many areas are very shallow for long stretches.
Thank for the great video
The Nippersink is easier to learn. Then apply it to the DesPlaines. I am decent on the nippersink, but I am learning the northern fox this year

I’ve had good luck on the Nippersink in spots. There are areas that are deeper and some areas with rocky bottom.
I haven’t fished the fox yet.
Awesome fish brother! Been about a month for me too, but I’ll be on the water tomorrow👍
Go get 'em!
Appreciate it! Don't let the shallow water fool you all the time. I'm always surprised by fish living in low water. If you're looking for smallies on the Des Plaines you definitely want to find those hard bottom stretches. I know more and more smallmouth have started living upriver and I've even caught em in Lake County.
You need a bigger net! A good problem to have. Great video.
Thanks! I like my smaller net a lot as it stays out of the way and makes those 20 inches look behemoth 😅
What brand sunglasses do you use?
This pair is Academy Sports brand polarized glasses.
I don’t have much confidence in swim jigs what size are you throwing? And brand if you don’t mind me asking .
Normally a 3/8 oz is what I like to throw but I'll go heavier if there is more current or depth. I was using Brian Schmidt Baits here in this video but Dirty Jigs Finesse Swimjig is probably what I throw the most throughout the year.
Great video man but cinch down that wading belt as high up on your waist as you can. Trust me from experience…
You're right!
