Can anyone put hand to heart and declare unequivocally that Singapore will be where it is today without his leadership? In one generation LKY brought a colonial outpost without natural resources or hinterland to be equal among other first world countries.

Lol. Even by looking at LKY, then at Marshall, the press revealing and recording their words and image, the British people would have concluded - yes we now how it broke down and of course it did and we know because of who.
Just by the sense LKY displayed and explained, that was convincing to any sane person British or Singaporean that one person came in to do things right and another was not and that other was not appropriately adjusted or even competent as LKY. It’s almost cruel, Marshall spoke so feebly with no strength of resonance on par and he even looking at the people there, he was wonky eyed for the camera to capture.
LKY we can actually see him think as he speaks and in between his sentences with real thought composure and clarity
