- What’s up guys, my name is Jacob Petersen and I am joined by my wife Julia Petersen to talk about a question we get VERY frequently. If you're anything like me, you probably have spent a lot of time thinking about your future spouse. Who are they, what will they look like, what makes them who they are, will they like the same things that I do, and the list could go on forever. Well, just like you, I wanted an answer to these questions, but there was one thing I knew; I wanted to date and marry a woman of God - this meaning someone who was equally yoked with me and was living for Christ. Since then, we have seen what it looks like when God places that person into your life, and we want to go ahead and share specific details and advice to the same questions that we used to ask, for anybody who may be asking these questions now! I hope our advice and story help and inspire you in trying to find a Godly spouse to spend the rest of your life with!

@@crispyz2864 i don’t think you should have a problem either!! You just have to trust god in timing!! I am young too but I’ve found its always best to let God set everything up for me and my future family!! And this single time for me is so important to learn life lessons that I will need as a mother or a wife for my future husband and kids. Not only that, but God is building me in my single era. You seem really sweet also! I think once you put yourself out there and become more involved in your Christian community will find the one. I learned pretty early on in my journey to Jesus that a lot of Christians aren't actually Christians. So yeah make sure that the person you're looking for is Christ centered, not church centered
My ex-husband and subsequent ex boyfriend pretended to be Christians. They lied so they could be with me. Be careful.
You need to ask the Lord first before getting married. Ask him if you’re marrying the right person!

Love the video! Thank you, Jacob and Julia. I love the point about knowing yourself. Something that's been on my head and heart lately is the nature of emotional dependence and the sense and security of personal identity in relationships. I have experienced girls wanting a relationship but the "motive" behind it is that they want a relationship to only say they are in a relationship or are only looking for like counseling. It is good that people want help and recognize the need for counseling. And some degree of emotional dependence is normal in relationships. I have been told one of my gifts is in counseling. However, it's never a good foundation for a romantic lifelong relationship and can go one-sided very quickly. Because if someone insecure tries to get in a relationship for the sake of their identity fulfillment or are entirely emotionally dependent on their partner, it can turn into an emotional "choke-hold."

I've prayed for over 16 years for a wife and marriage. I've used dating apps and cold approaching but nothing. I'm in my early 40's and honestly it's looking bleak with no options available. I trust God but surely if I have a need for companionship the Lord would meet that need? I understand if a person wants to blessed with the gift of singleness then that's fine but when a person really wants to share their love with another person wouldn't God bless that person with a spouse?
