    The reason none of the characters are Asian or Tibetan as they are in the comics, is because Marvel wanted to make money in China. China doesn't acknowledge Tibet as a country and so they had to censor out the Tibet references.

    • @Fyrecide
      @Fyrecide 2 года назад

      But doesn't China also have rules against magic/time travel or manipulation? So it really doesn't make sense since this movie still shouldn't "work" there.

    Hey Blue, the ideas and concepts for the movie come from the comic book artwork under the influence of artist Steve Ditko. Ditko created Doctor Strange in the 1960s in partnership with Stan Lee. Supposedly, Dr. Strange spent like a thousand years in the time loop with Dormammu, during which he continued to study and learn magic. That is how he becomes so powerful so quickly and is now the Sorceror Supreme.

    • @markcruz359
      @markcruz359 2 года назад

    After seeing your adorable reaction to this movie, I cannot help but recommend "Howl's Moving Castle" not sure if Howl influenced this movie but there are several things that look to be borrowed from it. Also, Hayao Miyazaki is an absolute legend and phenomenal creator that no one should go through life without watching his extraordinary films. There isn't a single one of his films I wouldn't recommend but "Castle in the Sky", "My Neighbor Totoro ", "Kiki's Delivery Service" and "Princess Mononoke" are a great introduction to the work of the man often referred to as the Japanese Walt Disney!

    Brutal fact: The fight in the time loop beetwen Stephen and Dormammu was in total and equivalent of 50 years, if we we suppose that every fight was for like 10 minutes average then Stephen dies for like 2628000 times

    9:39 I saw this in cinemas 2nd day after opening…my housemate was working but he had plans to see it the following night…I was friends with his partner, and (I’ve since quit) but we were light to moderate partakes of the wacky tobaccy…anyway, I hinted and suggested to his partner that they should have a joint rather than a smoke just before they went into the film…
    They both loved and hated me for that, since they were still quite stoned when this part of the film began…think it’s trippy normally…mind altering substances enhance things…so…

    Sherlock was such a cool show. It's too bad there were so few episodes but it was quality over quantity. It was my intro to Benedict Cumberbatch's work. I remember thinking he'd be great on Doctor Who. Doctor Strange works, too.
    2:48 That actor is Mads Mikkelsen. He often plays villains. I still remember him as Hannibal Lecter from the NBC show "Hannibal".
    5:04 "Interstellar Overdrive" from the first Pink Floyd album

    If you love Benedict Cumberbatch then you have to watch "The Imitation Game" (2014). He was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance. A great movie. A must see.

    Okay, I don’t know if it’s because I’m high… but during the final fight, where she said Umami instead of Dormammu… it’s just really funny to me if she forgot Dormammu’s name and thought his name was actually Umami. I know she’s probably just saying “oh mommy” like the expression, but the other explanation is funnier lol

    If you like the trippy building stuff, you should watch "Inception". This movie takes a lot of visual queue's from it.

    Robert Downey Jr has also played Sherlock Holmes. I was waiting for one or the other to tell the other " no shit Sherlock" sadly it didn't happen.

    People say that Airforce Colonel is the guy from Iron Man 2 but that's impossible as Dr Strange is set around the time of Civil War and not Iron Man 2. Also they would not make an Air Force colonel test suits.

    For a few people here in the comments. Tilda Swinton did fantastic in the role of the Ancient One. The woman has a gift for playing magic-users to such an extent that I'd dare say the character would've been considerably less memorable if they'd cast the character comic-accurate.
