Benedict Cumberbatch plays Dr Strange. He's been in a lot of movies, including The Imitation Game and even played the voice of Smog the Dragon from the Hobbit movies.
He was wonderful as Sherlock Holmes in the show “Sherlock” he killed that performance
32:45 That's Scott Adkins, he is one of my favorite action actors. Glad you all enjoyed this movie. This was the first time I learned anything about Dr. Strange. My brother is a big comic book fan but never showed me stuff from this. He was more into X-men but has a lot of really old comics with first appearances.
I grew up on Dr. Strange comics so I was actually excited when I found out this was being made. It’s fun with cool concepts and the visuals are tremendous 🤘🏽
Dr. Strange was humbled on a whole other level in this movie and he became better for it.

It was said that Dr. Strange spent centuries fighting Dormammu which made him a an extremely powerful and well trained wizard in the short amount of time in the MCU timeline from this movie thru the other upcoming movies.

@@scotthill1600 No problem! I was spoiled on Infinity War literally a few hours before going into the theater, and the post was completely unrelated to Marvel. I like to allow people to experience the story for themselves.
@@kingdomsheir7 got fight club spoiled for me but that’s my own fault still having not watched it, 20 years later. Infinity war spoiled hours before you went into the theater is rough
The movie doesn't say this but events of this movie from Steven getting injured in the car wreck and the end of the movie take place over the course of 2 years.

Dr strange was perfectly cast I think,his interactions with Tony stark are great because he doesn't back down to the egotism of tony

Both Benedict Cumber batch (Doctor Strange) and Robert Downey Jr (Tony Stark) played Sherlock Holmes.
Benedict def was 100x better at the role & Sherlock the show I really enjoyed, RDJ Sherlock Holmes was entertaining but nothing crazy
@@scotthill1600 Agree. I still prefer Basil Rathbone. RDJ Sherlock became what Sherlock is not. It was not about a martial arts detective.

Doctor strange is a beast, love his character, he’s definitely one of my fav mcu characters. As the movies progress you get to see just how powerful he is & can be when needed

Nobody ever notices that before his accident, they are describing a military colonel with a spinal injury. They are talking about Rhodey. So this movie links to Civil War.
Incorrect. The timeline doesn't match. It's been confirmed that it was referring to the soldier testing Hammer's armor in Iron Man 2.
@havok6280 It's possible that it's from Iron Man 2, but the internet is about 50/50 on the identity. Some even say it's nobody. Although, Iron Man 2 takes place in 2010, and Strange is in 2016, closer to Civil War.
@@williambanks2223 the details don't match. Rhode broke his back. He didn't need a specialist like Strange. The War Machine armor wasn't "experimental".

Dr Strange is the fantastic British actor Benedict Cumberbatch not Dennis Quaid sweetie he is almost 70 i doubt he could do this role xx Chitiwell Ejifor the guy who helps him outside is English as is Tilda Swinton as the Sorceror Supreme and Wong is also English very proud as I'm also British he he xx

They watched it already at the beginning of their mcu journey then were quickly informed by the comments to immediately stop & watch the rest of the mcu in order which they’re doing now. Pretty sure they also already saw captain marvel, they do need to rewatch GOTG tho
Doctor Strange is a good example of one of the reasons the MCU used to be so good. You had characters that actually had to earn their power; characters that had flawed personalities but ended up growing, learning and become worthy of their power. Nowadays (and it's unfortunately almost exclusively the female characters) the characters have everything handed to them, they have no doubts or faults, they don't earn their powers or have any need to grow because they start that way. Hopefully the MCU can get back to that, but looking at whats on the horizon and the now half decade+ of this being the status quo.... I have my doubts. Content over saturation being another thing diluting the quality of the MCU, but that's another topic entirely. Luckily you still have a few more films comprising the good MCU yet to watch!
Grim but accurate analysis
I don’t think planting opinions of future Marvel projects is appropriate and fair for these new reactors. After all, the critique of the MCU are still opinions at the end of the day. Let the reactors enjoy the projects as the move forward and if they love the “hated” movies or shows so be it.
Dormammu is more powerful than Thanos.
