- Sixteen Ukrainian children taken by Russia have been reunited with their families in Kyiv. The return operation was organized by the charity foundation Save Ukraine. The team says that they've been able to return 120 children from occupied territories in Ukraine and 30 children from Russia.

I find it weird that this topic gets kind of ignored. Russians stole more Ukrainian children than the Nazis did during WW2… Only the orphans almost reaches the number of children the Nazis stole from Poland, which was the most affected.

Эти дети находились в безопасности полгода, их развлекали, одевали кормили, они были в лучшем детском лагере страны на побережье чёрного моря. Я чуть не упала «заставляли делать зарядку по утрам». Как будто заставляли работать на крановых рудниках. Все дети были отправлены родителями добровольно! Чтобы не подвергать опасности их жизни на линии фронта. Никто не знал, что русским придётся оставить Херсон. Это точно лучше, чем если бы они находились в населенных пунктах, где шли бои и могли погибнуть. Все живые, розовощёкие. Лучше бы спасибо сказали.

What I find strange is that the way the lady at 0:20 describes her situation, it kinda sounds like she saw no problem in sending her childeren to russian organised camps. I wonder what exactly the story was that they told the parents about these "health camps". Did they not know it was a camp in Crimea or that is was organised by russia? Were they pressured? Because what Ukrainian in their right mind would send their child to go with the russians to a russian organised camp??? (whether that camp is in russia, deeper into occuppied territory, or not)
Probably a combination of a difficult situation (not enough food for the kids, maybe kids having trouble with asthma due to having had to hide in mouldy cellars too long), and a carrot and stick approach. Promise of having them well fed and given necessary medical treatment not available to the parents and pressure.
I know that just after WW2, a lot of kids from Austria and Germany were sent to other countries because the situation with food was so terrible in the fallen former "reich". I know people whose parents were sent eg. to the Netherlands or Spain with very little information given to the parents. Now, remember that only a year before that, Germany caused a huge famine in the Netherlands. Still parents felt so desperate that they let their kids be sent there and trusted enough that the Dutch wouldn't take revenge on their kids (they didn't and the kids came back well fed and healthy, but how could they have been sure?).
Notice she also said the school received offers. It could have come across as a school endorsed trip and pressure from the war, money trouble and hope that their children might be safer and better looked after came into play. Like..."If my children have been taken care of by the school so far, why not?" Plus health would be a good skill to learn in such times. So hopes of safety, food, care and learning something important all in time of war may have been enticing. And if other parents you know and trust signed their kids up, that may comfort you some too.
Honestly, I don't think I would have done it, but I keep in mind that I am lucky that I don't have to know for sure.
The attitude towards Russia did change during the occupation for some pro-Russian Ukrainians. There were Ukrainians who stayed in occupied Kherson and Donbas who were okay with being part of Russia in the beginning because they believed the lies that life would be better if they were part of Russia. Then it became clear that wasn't the truth and pro-Russian Ukrainians switched sides. This is the real issue for Russia even continuing to hold areas they've had in Donbas for years - their supporters have turned on them when Russia can't provide food, medicine, water and other necessities. They may have thought that their kids would be taken care of in a health camp.
This is an answer to prayer. I'm praying the scripture the Lord will not leave our captives in the enemy's hands.

Are there not strict laws against kidnapping and transporting minors across "borders"?! If Crimea is Russia, then they, by reasoning, not only kidnapped these poor kids but also crossed borders into another country knowingly and willfully.......what kind of international laws can they be held liable for breaking?
