"Thank you Waze for letting me know" What a great companion on the open highway ain't it!?! I love solo long distance riding and your on the right machine for it. Enjoy! Nice vlog Craig.
I did a iron butt 1000 with a 150cc Chinese scooter. But they wouldn’t except it because I used a one gallon fuel Tank as an auxiliary and filled up from that between gas station stops. It was a fun day though.
Ha! The smells...yes you definitely get the good and the bad. There's an ethanol plant that I sometimes get near and you can smell the sweet from around 5 miles away depending on the wind. Skunk will stay in your helmet forever it seems hahaha. Nice vid. Love my gl1500 and hope to take it around the country in the near future. 👍
Hey CRAIG!!, Enjoyed the video. Just got a 2008 Goldwing. Been to SC Mytle Beach. Always by car. Maybe I’ll take a road trip on the GL1800. That would be a wonderful experience. Thanks for sharing GH.✊🏾😊
Beautiful campground called the Holiday Inn 🤣, Sammee I'm not gonna be camping outside smh. Rather be on the interstate anyway, just worry about merging traffic and going straight.
You are so right, riding a bike anywhere is so much better than doing it in a car. Looks like a nice relaxed trip. Although I love secondary roads, some of the interstates are not too bad for scenery at all.
Hey Craig new sub here. Great content and I love the Goldwing! I ride a Streetglide myself but have always been a fan of the Goldwings. Really enjoying your trip videos
Looked like a great trip. I was up to Bob Weavers and Hebeler's the other day and was thinking about you wondering how close you are to them. Loving my wing and have put a little over 4000 miles on it in 4 weeks of riding.
that downstate/upstate NY argument always cracks me up. I'm down in Brooklyn. Let me know when you're making that key west run. I'm down for that. just picked up my 2021 GoldWing two weeks ago. :-)
They have some beautiful houses there. I was at my cousins house and he is along the intercostal waterway. Just amazing. Planning on heading up to americade this week. Hopefully rain holds off. I will text you when I get back. Let’s grab lunch!
Omg . Buffalo . With that nice bike u should live down south . I live in Florida been here since I was born . But you should live in the south with that nice bike . I ride all year down here .
Great ride report lol. For a Non New Yorker!! lol I got my bagger last sept and am thrilled with it thus far. waiting to get my 1st service done before I do a long ride. Lots of shorter 200+ Sat. so will be ready to do Daytona again this yr. if my honey lets me out of the house that long. May just do a over niter this yr. over the weekend but at least it will be a fun trip this yr. This bike does it ALL. And no they didnt make any changes to the 22 except for color changes. Next year they will raise the price again I am sure...
I would love to make it down to Daytona. I would love to ride there but that is not doable in March. But Biketoberfest isn't totally out of the question. It is a great bike. Have fun and ride safe!
@@craighanesworth Ok there are alternatives to every plan, being from upstate I know you folks have real winters. Still not a problem, in most cases. You could do what a lot of others do and trailer the bike down here park the truck n trailer and ride all day everyday lol. You may even want to look into shipping your bike down... Bike week is the big event but biketoberfest is lots of fun just not as many bikes or events or vendors. I do know a lot of cool places to eat
Hey Craig, nice video. I agree about Fredonia and grape season. We look forward to it every year. Have to ask, where did you get your hitch and matching trailer? Looks sharp. I could do my trips without it but if I wanna include my wife, then it’s a must. Please let me know, and happy and safe riding.
Thanks for watching Brian. I bought my trailer used from Facebook marketplace. I then took it to a local paint shop to have it color matched. I ordered the trailer hitch and wiring harness from Bushtec. Ride safe!
Hey C! When you get a chance, please talk about your seat and the difference it has made for you... trying to decide which one I want and leaning towards the RDL....Thanks
Dave. I did a video review on the RDL seat. Short story the seat is great! I did 750 miles straight shot coming hone from South Carolina. I would stop roughly every 120 miles to stretch, use the bathroom etc. No pain whatsoever. If you plan on doing long distance I would recommend getting a backrest. I got the RDL backrest and it is very comfortable. Ride safe
I am so interested in a GoldWing but just can’t grasp the idea of an “automatic” motorcycle. I realize that it’s also available without DCT but would love your perspective on the DCT…do you truly like it?
The DCT is phenomenal. I think most people who have never ridden one believe that it works like a scooter. It doesn't. It shifts between the 7 gears the same you would if you were doing it yourself. It upshifts when you would and downshifts the same way. Also, it does have paddle shifters so you can shift yourself if you like. The biggest pros for me is that it the shifting is much smoother than what you can accomplish on your own. Also, in stop and go traffic it is fantastic. No cramps in your hand from working the clutch non-stop. The major con is in slow speed maneuvers. Nothing is better than being able to feather the clutch when you are doing slow speed turns. The DCT is so popular that I predict that Honda will discontinue the manual transmission Goldwing in the future and only have DCT as an option. Ride safe
Wow! That sounds great. The slow speed stuff concerns me a little but I assume that you can still leverage the rear brake to help make a slow turn? I currently ride a Road King (which I love) bought seem to think that a Goldwing would be a great complement.
@@craighanesworth Sounds great look me up and I can show you around the area. I have a new 2022 blue goldwing dct. Is the f4 a plus 4" windshield? I'm upgrading the windshield...
That’s a nice trip. I found on my trip to Sturgis that people along the way were genuinely interested in where we were from, where we were going… it was fun to talk. I noticed that you switched from a 360 cam to a regular GoPro on the bar mount - any issues with the 360, or just mixing it up?
Hey Craig, been watching your vids for a while now and listening to your opinion(s) on the 18+ GW. I've been thinking about getting one for 2up riding for a while now (love my current bike but it's better solo). I feel like the 2021 is finally nearing what this bike should've been in '18. What do you think? Should I buy now, or wait for 2022? Anyway, great content. Keep it up!
Dave. Thanks for watching. I would get one now. I don’t think there are going to be many changes in the 2022 model. Demand is high but you can still get some deals on the 2021s. I say if you can swing it, go for it! Ride safe
Yeah, I agree with you. I don't think there'll be many changes for '22 either. It seems like all the '21 are still being advertised at MSRP (crazy times) that's why I'm thinking of waiting. BTW, I rented an '18 with the SO, We put around 600 miles on it and it was a huge hit! Thus the increased interest in wanting to "upgrade."
Hi how many miles on you're goldwing now ? Any problems you encounter with it? Does you're bike have a ticking sound on the right side while on idle ? Im currently on the market to buy a used 6th gen goldwing
Sorry. Frustrated, I've had to stop watching. I'm trying to listen to what you're saying but the background drumming makes it a battle I'd prefer to lose!
I'm so jealous right now, cold and rain up here already and for the next week. Thanks for the ride Craig............JB..

Thank you for the trip. I too was in The Carolinas this year. I went on down to Florida. From NYC. Non motorcycle. Automobile 🚘
Great video brother. Ride safe.
Watched it again, Carolinas were a great ride I wish I had more time to explore them..
Definitely. I love the Carolinas and Tennessee. Just beautiful there. I'm hoping our weather breaks soon. Getting anxious and want to ride!!!!

In general, most motorcycle trips are awesome. Can't wait till winter is over so I can hop back on the bike!
That head gear looks cumbersome 😯
Wow I watch alot of you tube and I never seen your videos love this video.
Thanks for watching!!
kool video, have a safe trip home. You past within a few miles of my house when you entered sc. There is some great roads to ride in the Carolinas.
