Bought my 1st Goldwing last year after riding Kawi Vulcan for 16 years. Loved the Vulcan but now I know want Heaven is riding the Goldwing. 2 trips to date from Long Island to Laconia bike week last year and this year Lake George for bike week. It's a great ride my 2006, I can't imagine ever changing. I ride it everyday when weather permits and sometimes when it doesn't. Look forward to seeing your trip. Happy trails
Way to go.. glad to see you get back on the saddle, I admit that I was disappointed when I saw the end of the video when you went down,, you put so much work and time on that first GL... but it could have been much worse ,, your blessed that you were ok ..... Your vids have helped me with my new to me 1988 GL1500,, .. looking forward to your future videos,, that route 66 trip is on my bucket list.... wish you the best !
That's pretty awesome 👏 I'm glad you went for it I can't quit riding if I had a spill I'd be nervous too but these gl1500s are amazing bikes they give you confidence if you respect them
I bought a 95 gl1500 in 2020. had 145000 miles on it. took it on a 3000 mile trip. loved the bike, except for turn signals problems. I'm gonna do a 3 or 4000 mile trip in aug 2025 on my vstar 650. I'll be 74 yrs old then. good video.
Great to see you back on the bike. There is so much to see in the wonderful country, if possible, after leaving Yellowstone, Bear Tooth Pass is a ride you would probably be amazed at. Never rode Route 66 (just parts of it) but I have a friend from England that he and his brother-in-law came over to ride, in a car, but because it is such an iconic ride. Good luck, hope the weather cooperates as well as everyone and everything else. Interesting winds crossing the plains. Looking forward to your updates.
I almost can’t believe it, it is wonderful knowing you’re back in the saddle and looking forward to trips! I really missed your videos when you stopped with the Goldwing. I recently changed an alternator and prior the job I was thinking, man, I wish Clayton had made one as yours were always so good! Oh, if that bike has the original alternator, please consider a replacement, don’t be left standing on roadside like me with a dead bike. Welcome BACK!
RUclips decided to introduce you to me. I crashed a bike once upon a time long ago, getting comfortable again took a while. Sounds like a great trip. Enjoy your ride. Not long ago I upgraded my bike, to a Big GS, my goal a to ride it on a big tour. It was quite a lot bigger than my previous bike. I found taking it to a Parking Lot and just practicing slow speed turning ect plus braking getting faster and braking quickly improved my comfort level and confidence. Preparing myself for the ride as well as the bike. Rode it to the Arctic Ocean, Alaska and back last year. Don't know where I will go this year.
I will admit the tires made me nervous. The bike was garage kept and they really looked good. I did not push it. The tires will be replaced right away.
@claytongerber I was just wondering lol, mine have 8 years on them and I worry about going 10 miles, maybe I'm worrying about it too much. Wish I could be riding with y'all and have a fun trip.

Mount Rushmore then North to Theodore National Park in North Dakota, then on to mpls,
Would be my suggestion.
Do you still have the bike?
Great to see you back in the saddle. I have to ask, you're doing the ride on those tires lol?
