    Buying a new bike, taking off for an 1100 mile trip with your son and trying to make the trip in a couple of days is a real adventure. Both of you will have years of “remember when we did” memories for your old age. I would have loved to have done this with my father. You are blessed .

    You accomplished two main objectives on this trip.
    1, You gave your boy a memory that he'll one day share with his children.
    2, You instilled in your son a love of motorcycling.
    God bless you and yours and always...ride safe!

    It's so cool that you took your young son on this adventure, it's something he will always remember and both of you will create an even stronger bond. The bike is beautiful as it is, no need to apologize for what you picked, it's great looking bike! I can tell your son really loves spending time with you, treasure every minute with him. How did David like the trip?

      Thank you so much for your comment 👍 . We had a great time and David loved the trip. He talks about it everyday since. And you are correct on spending time with him creates a stronger bond. I can tell you that any kid that rides on a bike for 1100 miles in 2 days is definitely going to be a rider when he grows up. Again thanks for the comment for watching and your positive support. 🙏 ride safe.

    WOW! Your vid just popped up. This is deja vu. Wow. I made this same trip from Michigan to buy my 2015 Goldwing from this same dealership about this same time of year (early April) 3 years ago. Drove down with my old bike on the U haul trailer non stop 16 hours. Slept the night in the hotel a block away. Was at the dealership that following morning when they opened. Signed the paperwork. Loaded the new bike on the trailer and hit the road about noon and drove 16+ hours nonstop home. I really hope the wife is doing well. I know a bit of what she's dealing with.
    My wife and I did the full Michigan mitten perimeter ride a couple years ago. Hopping to do the Lake Superior ride this year.
    Hopefully we can connect at some point.

    Hey. Thanks for this great channel. We hope and pray your wife is well. This Wing of yours on this video is anabsolute beauty. I'msure this bike will be perfect when you're finally done with her. I have never been privieged enough to own a motorcycle but when I do ( and I'm 61 now), it would be a Wing. South Africa is a beautiful country and the best way to see it is most probably on a Wing. Our thoughts are with you and your family my friend. An Amazing trip and time spent with the boy. Who must be a mad man to ride on the back of a bike and then do over 1000k to boot. Just awesome. Silver is good. I have the yuck gray/silver 02 but want a blacked out 15-18. Riding in heavy wind tip: Old biker trick, Point the knee on the side that the wind is coming from out at a 90* angle. The wind (from forward movement) will hit your leg and act like a sail. The drag will counteract the side blowing wind.holds me up good in heavy wind. I want to do the Iron butt with my son. We live in the UP off M35. Might loop the lake.

    • @mosmotorcyclejourney9067
      @mosmotorcyclejourney9067  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the thoughts. Also the great tip with the sail. That never occurred too me but makes perfect sense and will do next time I'm in a strong wind like I was. It was scary for about 150 miles. But I kept the wheels turning. If you fo the iron but let me know. I'm kind of interested in doing it because I now know I can. The trip was alot of fun. Thanks again for viewing and your comment 👍

More the better when it comes to motorcycle rides. Even if we just meet up for a few miles of highway be cool. My son is on a 09 Honda Shadow with low miles so stopping every 150 miles or so for gas. But thats a little over 200ish miles or so and good time to shake out the legs. I will let you know my friend. And yeah they leg trick works like a dream. One of them things I wish I learned about long ago. Game changer in fact. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.Take care brother and ride safe.

    I hope all is going to be well with your wife. I went through the same thing a couple of months ago. It only takes very very little blood for the test to test positive. There are many things that cause very small amounts of blood in the stool other than cancer. We always think of the worst. I love the color of your new bike. I am not that crazy about orange but that is why they make different colors, everyone has their own likes. I am 70 yrs old and still riding my old 1986 Honda 1200 Aspencade. I just can't get rid of it. It runs like new and still looks like new, I have never let the stealership touch my bike. I have had absolutely no problems with it. Tires and brakes and oil changes have kept it running great. I haven't even had a stator issue. I didn't add a bunch of lights on it. Wiring is all factory except for hardwiring the 3 stator wires. Oh and I forgot batteries. I even had a battery last me 6 years, the average lasts 5 years if you are lucky and take care of them. I have fun just polishing it. Goldwings are the best. Enjoy your new bike. Stay safe and the best to you and your family.

    • @mosmotorcyclejourney9067
      @mosmotorcyclejourney9067  2 года назад

      Wow. Thank you Wayne. You are correct sir about a small amount of blood. She went in and they removed a polyp and sent it too the lab to test for cancer. We have not got those results yet however the doctor was quit positive about it not being cancer. But you know doctors 🤔 I will tell you my second bike was a goldwing 1986 GL1200 Interstate. I rode the crap out of that bike and the only thing that ever failed beside replacing a battery was the stator. GO FIGURE. And that was in 1994. So it lasted 7 to 8 years. I rode that bike from Michigan to Mexico and back. 1 heck of a great ride and memories I will never forget. Too me it's still one of Hondas best bikes. I don't know why they stopped making it or only made it for 4 yrs I believe. They been making the 1800 for 21 yrs now. I hope my wife don't read this. The orange bike was a very nice looking bike for being 20 yrs old and since my wife was footing the bill I let her pick the color. This new one, I picked the color. I was ready for a change. Not that I didn't like the color because it does look great in the sun. Anyways you keep riding your 86 Aspencade. It's a great bike. 👍 thanks for watching and the comment. 1 more thing. How many miles do you have on you 86 now and what color is it? Mine was black.

Spend three days in Yellowstone off to Yosemite with stops in Salt Lake City then down the loneliest hwy in America old section of Lincoln hwy 50 in Nevada. After Yosemite we start back to Florida. Via Death Valley to Las Vegas. Then to Winslow, AZ , next El Paso, TX on old route 666 now known as 191 in AZ. Next to San Antonio, TX with a visit to the Alamo then dinner at the Chart House revolving restaurant atop the 700'+ tower. Next New Orleans ghost tours, cajun food and coffee with beignet. Next Jacksonville, FL dinner with the other daughters and great conversation next morning back in Deland, FL for a total 9000+ miles 4 National Parks numerous points of interest and a life time of memories.

    I think it's wonderful you are sharing your journey's with your son. I have some to remember with my Father, who passed at 90 years old. Priceless memories for sure.
    As far as the wind. I experienced severe unstable cross winds on a ride to Death Valley a few years ago. Fortunately my Wife was not with me on that trip! RV's and Semi's blew over, like you experienced. In fact a fiberglass boat blew off it's trailer and landed about 80ft off the road.
    I look at these experiences as a learning curve. Since then we have hit some pretty strong cross winds on trips. She asks how I'm doing, and I reply, it's OK honey. This is nothing like the Hwy 395 that time on the way to DV! Every ride is a learning experience, for sure.

      OMG. YOU HIT THAT NAIL ON THE HEAD HARD. I was just telling my wife after we watched 6 Harley riders ride 450 miles on RUclips . They had to stop at 3 Harley shops, 1 clutch stopped working, 2 lost his gear shifter, and 3 was a rear tire. Now the tire can happen on any bike however the other 2 were just something i would not want to deal with. AND THATS THE REASON I RIDE A GOLDWING. And these were 2018 and newer Harleys. GO FIGURE. Now don't get me wrong I don't care what people ride. And I stand behind every rider because we all take the same risks. But like you said do you wanna wrench or do you wanna ride. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Prayers for a good outcome on your wife's colonoscopy. They're not bad once you get over being violated "back there".
    But better to know. My last PSA test showed some abnormalities in blood composition. I have a blood cancer, rare, but not leukemia. Only 2/1000 folks have it. Being treated, but it is weekly. So our riding will be closer to home for a while.

    I still love the 2012 to 2017 Goldwings. It hard for me to like the newer goldwings because I heard good and bad things about it.

    We usually do two or three long trips a year. This week I’m riding my wife’s bike from Ontario 🇨🇦 to Florida. She is flying down. Mine spent the winter there and we are riding home together. Then in September we are shipping the bikes to Colorado and riding Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. Two weeks and then we ship them home again.

      @@mosmotorcyclejourney9067 Bonnie like Arizona the best. We may retire down there when the time is right. She likes the heat.

    Hi Mo, what a great trip for you and your son. I’d love to do a ride with you, I also have the orange 2007 GL1800. I’m in southern illinois and am planning a coast to coast trip next spring.
