Could extend to the rear and have a heavy duty single”caster wheel”for weight support(no wheelies!) And what’s up with not trying them before leaving? Cross wind...on the interstate...in the south west...who’d-a-thunk!?!🤷🏼‍♂️ And why couldn’t the bike pulling the trailer ride next to him on the windward side to help block it? “Need that side of the kickstand to counter the wind”? Or...MAYBE...turn the bike...AROUND? But, it’s an adventure!! 👍🏍🇺🇸

I took my 1974 Honda CB750K4 on an 8,000 mile solo road trip around the country. It has half a Vetter touring kit on it, upper fairing with windshield, highway bars but no pegs, just the studs heh. Platforms, king/Queen saddle seat, sissy bar, rear luggage rack and integrated fiberglass side saddle storage.
I tried my duffel bag onto the passenger seat and when I got tired, I just kicked back against the bag, propped my feet up between the windscreen and handle bars, and slept. To stay out of the weather, I tied my Wubby (if you know, you know) between the sissy bar and windscreen and it made it a comfortable tent.
I hit some hellatious wind on US-2 coming across Minnesota. I had to be on the far right shoulder, leaned so far into the wind that when I crossed a wind break, it shot me all the way across both lanes before I could straighten up again. That lean into the wind is no joke on big, old bikes like mine. They are much taller than modern bikes.
It was all period correct original, no cup holders, charge ports or anything. Cruise control for me was a left hand cross grip on the throttle, heh.
First issue was a broken chain half mile west of Maris Pass. It was so stretched that I just used the breaker tool to press out the broken link and press it back together. That got me all the way to central California, heh.
I stopped in California to get the utterly worn down rear tire and chain replaced before going into Death Valley in August.
I got a flat rear tire in Death Valley.
While sitting on the tire, I had a van full of European tourists slow down, take pictures, wave and drive on.
Other than that, no issues. Frozen mountain passes, stormy open plains, 120+ degree desert heat, the bike handled it all without issue nor complaint.
    It was a great ride.

I'm amazed that nobody knows the fold-up hanger tent (or trailer as you call it) Zach is using, in Europe that is a tiny one but they mostly are equipped with an outdoor kitchen, often has sleeping spaces from 2 to 6 persons and a awning spacious enough to see ánd use as a living room, of course. Hang it behind your car and you have a family tent on wheels that is faster to pitch than a standard tent, sized for a family of at least 2 to 6 people.
But the one Zach used is ideal in a situation like he used one

I give you guys mad props for doing this trip. I always thought of getting a trailer (since some companies do make them) if I ever was able to afford a bike. Im not sure if a DIY like how you guys did it would be cheaper than purchasing one (which start at 3 grand) but I like what you guys did. I just hope there is a outhouse tent for that toilet there =P

With 300k touring miles in the saddle, I've ridden through some sketchy weather and road conditions, but nothing as sketchy as Ari's terrifying battle with the cross winds. Hi guys, I just come across this video absolutely Alario’s I built a camper trailer for my motor Gozzi and travelled all the way up north Queensland in Australia. Every time I pulled up people come and admire how much stuff would come out of it. I would have a table chairs, cooking facilities, etc etc even had a awning, so I could put my motorbike underneath when it was raining had a fantastic time travelling around. Keep up the good work guys from Australia, the thunder down under.

This reminds me of when my wife and I and another couple left home In Augusta Ga. going to Billings Montana to a Goldwing Rally. We made two of these trips. Going through Kansas we ran into a 65mph. wind. It was a head on cross wind. I had my GL 1800 wide open and only running 35 mph. I knew if I had stopped we would have been blown over. I believe our 650 lb. Camper kept us on the road.

That would have made it alot lower and lighter with the jacks on the outside of the box rather then the bottom of the bike! Further out for more stability just would have needed something with higher lift! But both were badass for sure!!!
