I hope he is only suspended a short time just to shut the vulchers up. The FOP is a strong organization and what is being done is WRONG. He’ll appeal and be reinstated. Trust. Aunty Bev, enough said.
The limiting the FBI reconstruction witnesses under rule 14 was just plain wrong as the information was given to both the defence and the prosecution, especially in light of the difficulty the defence had in getting information because it did not "exist", like the SERT report. Coupled with the fact that the defence wanted more time, but "Aunty Bev" would not allow that. Lally was happy to use the FBI information re the Proctor text messages to head off what was coming from the defence, when it suited him. There were so many things that were shady IMHO including the sudden removal of jurors at a late stage (what a wonderful way to fix a jury by putting in a report to the court that a juror was seen or heard saying something) and the change of the jury selection without showing the defence the numbers, The objections being handled at Side-Bah, and then the declaration of a mis-trial without finding out if it was all the charges. Sketchy as anything and btw I live across the pond, had never heard of Karen Read till this trial started . I would rather see a guilty person walk free that have an innocent person in prison. This case was fixed right from that first meeting at the Alberts house in the early am, and then Proctor was given his marching orders at the McCabe house later that day IMHO. Many others I believe were sucked in with incorrect information, and then the were between a rock & a hard place once they realised they had been duped. That coupled with the use of under qualified or inexperienced "specialists". All compounded by Lally and his 101 dalmatian witnesses to tell us it was snowing and defending the McAlberts and dragging it on and on, to the point where jury attrition was inevitable.
This was never about getting justice for "the man in the snow" and was all about pinning it on "the girl". There will never be justice for OJO, because this investigation was rigged to make sure of that. I just wonder how Paul O'Keefe will feel in later years when he realises that and once the McAlberts have dumped him like a bag of trash once they no longer feel in legal jeopardy.

Have all the respect and support for the blue but… the police union publicly supporting proctor after his suspension without pay… is unconscionable and is the kind of position that actually undermines (even further) the Canton community’s trust in the integrity of its own police department. Their support in the face of everything we’ve heard from proctor’s own mouth…an implies the police union feels this is acceptable behavior. Proctor is NOT what the community or, one would hope, the police department, the police union… want on the force and he should be fired… full stop. Efforts to claim this is a hardship on his kids are just cover for another of Proctor’s many attempts to shirk responsibility and displace blame. PROCTOR should’ve given thought a long time ago to what would happen to his kids if he lost his job over his many unethical, unprofessional, immoral, illegal, trashy “lapses in judgement”… that’s called listening to your conscience. Jackson was right about him… “shame on you”… and that SHOULD be on the record.

I KNOW it adds fuel to the fire on the subject of Cannone's POSSIBLE misconduct, but in and of itself it's not NEARLY the "red flag" that MANY of her other words and actions are.
I served as Lead Defense Counsel or Lead Prosecutor in over 100 Jury Trials for Murder. I was #2 in about 150 more.
I AGREE that Cannone did quite a few things she shouldn't have. Further investigation will determine, we hope, whether or not her actions amounted to Judicial Misconduct.
So. Let's see what happens. The fallout from the Karen Read Case is FAR from over. Nor is the FBI investigation into numerous individuals, state & local law enforcement agencies, District Attorneys' Offices, and probably some members of the Judiciary in Eastern Massachusetts. It's ongoing.
Based on my own extensive experience, I'm 99% certain that at least one of the people who were in the Albert house when John was murdered has already run to the US Attorney, cut a deal, and has spilled the beans about EVERYTHING he/ she knows.

Wouldn’t it have been nice if the judge would’ve used immediate and straightforward language on the charges putting by every question guilty or not guilty regardless on one two or three because they’re more than one question and each question should’ve had its own answer. There would’ve been no confusion if she would’ve done her job.

I think all jurors in all cases should be sealed like this automatically. They can reach out but no one should be going to them except lawyers and if they want to talk. With a hung jury I would think it’s a problem both sides I don’t know how they pick a jury. This case was crazy and keeps getting crazier. Maybe the FBI will solve this and there will be no trial

Better yet, three check boxes. Guilty, Not Guilty, or Not Sure. In case the jurors forget that doubt equals not guilty - the court can group all the Not Sure answers with the Not Guilty's.
And no, they were not straight-forward. Not all of them. And we have no reason to believe that they were completed and signed, or that the judge reviewed them before calling the mistrial.

I support what the judge did. The jury needs to be protected. As a former juror, the stress of participating in a trial can be overwhelming. They don’t need to be pressured or intimidated by random people. Serving on jury shouldn’t end up with you being fearful of your safety. The vitriol I’ve read on the internet involving this case has been overwhelming. I really think people need to take a deep breath & relax. The people who testified in the trial should be left alone as well along with the family. I read how the people are going after the family now. Everyone needs to calm down and let the legal process proceed.

I’m not one who typically doesn’t watch trial coverage or “LawTube” unless it’s a case I find unique/interesting. I chose to watch the Read case as I felt it would be a glimpse behind the veil of law enforcement as the Depp trial was a glimpse behind the veil of celebrities. I watched beginning to end all the way immersed here and in the LawTube community. Not once have I engaged in any disrespect for or against any parties involved nor have I been a target of any disrespect with this or any other Lawyer communities. It IS POSSIBLE to simply follow to learn while remaining neutral… hoping for justice and accepting the outcome with the understanding I can do nothing to change it. 🤷🏻‍♀️
