I still think Carly was one of the all time favorites over the past 10 seasons! She should have made it to number one! She is one of the best performers AI ever had! Hope her career is going well. What a great talent!!!!!!!

Miss Carly so much. Was disappointed when she didn't come out with her own album. We are the Fallen had a good CD but I would have liked a little more pop songs from her. Hope she is doing well.
We are the fallen stopped her solo album. Which sucked. They scrapped it as soon as she met Ben. I remember looking forward to it and then we are the fallen came out.

It was a disgrace when she was voted off at top 6 and michael johns was voted off at top 8. Honestly, when Jason Castro was in the bottom 3 in the top 6 elimination night and was the first one safe, I wanted to rip out his dreadlocks. Simon couldn't even stand him saying his singing was "atrocious." Top 5 should've been: Brook White (Top 5), Michael Johns (Top 4), Carly Smithson (Top 3), and the two Davids in the top 2 finale.

I don't. If she had won she would have been a slave to American Idol's contract. They would have had total rights to her music and her image, having the right to change everything about how she appears, down to her hair color and the way she dresses. Now she's with WATF and is free to be the artist she wants. This was for the best.

@amykoto ...A LOT of people want to be like madonna and with good reason. it doesn't make them "fake" and it definitely isn't "shameful". madonna can't be duplicated, however, her achievements in the music industry can. i'm a HUGE madonna fan, however, vocally, she isn't spectacular-she just knows how to sell it and entertain to make people enjoy the music.

Randy and Simon weren't wrong but weren't 100% right. Overall, it wasn't a bad performance but wasn't American Idol winner material, either. I'm stoked for the revamp with Katy Perry as a judge (and Randy/Simon NOT!) They should seriously bring back Paula and throw in Carrie, Chris Daughtry, Kris Allen (because he's from Arkansas), Adam Lambert, Lauren Alaina, Scotty McCreery, Katherine McPhee, Pia Toscano (robbed of going further), Tim Urban (same as Pia), or Thia Megia (not a lot of Asian judges!) Hell, I would even take Kellie Pickler (as long as the audience didn't distract her with pickles!)

When it comes to certain songs, you’re better off leaving them alone during a singing competition. Carrie Underwood pulled off Heart during her competition and it was great. She obviously had the talent to pull that off.
