If vivo would look less processed would have been great phone for me. Prefer personally as a photographer the Xiaomi better.
Humanstic Mode and textured helps on Vivo
Agreed.
You can customize the Vivo to look natural
I think these two are the best camera smartphone of 2024.
pretty sure you havent heard of xperia vi
And the hottest, unfortunately
It's true. I've seen a lot of reviews and videos on the latest smartphones. The X100 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra stand out. In some cases, the differences to Samsung, Apple, Google, Sony and co. are very clear.
You could almost say that Vivo and Xiaomi are a generation ahead of the competition this time.
@@Tedde-bi9ypThe Xperia is nice but it's limited quite heavily by the user and it's lenses. It is definitely better than a Samsung for sure though.
Also pura 70 ultra and find x7 ultra
I'm excited what would the successor of vivo and xiaomi camera quality looks like 2025.
In 2050 it will be a black magic cinematic rig camera with phone features😂
Hardware specs are already out for xiaomi 15 Ultra
Easily the best comparison between arguably the best two phones for photography on the market. Too bad neither is officially available in the US but my next phone will definitely be ftom one of these brands.
Thank you very much!!!! Truly appriciate it!!! And yeah it is a shame, not even the 14 ultra!? :O
@@ThroughJermainesLens I believe there is a global version for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. It's just not sold in any stores or carriers.
and if you buy Xiaomi phone from the official stores in Asia (Global version of course), you would most like get a very good deal that includes the photography kit, lens filters, usb-C earbuds, and a bag full of travel accessories, all for FREE. Xiaomi store representative has the incentive to sell you their "flagship" phones. And you'll be treated like a VIP in the store, no need to wait in line.
@@sidersproductions941 awww shame :(
Xiaomi 14 ultra best camera❤❤❤❤❤
I think the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra might actually be able to beat some of the best newest phones with it's cameras if using the Gcam apk on the 11 Ultra 😎
i still believe Xiaomi is better for a genuine authentic photography,, Vivo should tune down the post processing they do, the pics looks like auto enhanced and sharpened to my eyes
with vivo you can play around with sharpness, but in comparisons like this it requires a lot more shots to do so, because level REALLY depends on how the situation is.
And yeah textured keeps that same contrasty look Xiaomi does till a degree, giving a somewhat similar approach in that sense.
@@ThroughJermainesLens @9:00 and @9:05 ,, looks like the Dehaze slider is up in vivo and the concrete too, too much clarity ...,, i like the xiaomi shots looks smooth camera like 😅😅😅😅
I actually like how the vivo pics look. I guess we all prefer different things. Juz love the vivo pics
@@peterofori1765 yes 😁 and that is perfectly fine! Preference is a great thing because else it gettboring if everyone feels the same^^
@@peterofori1765 thats the greatness of having so many options 🫰
I love how you described it, with the autumn and summer
Thahnk you ^^ I really struggeled to explain, but that just clicked the best haha
I look at the xiaomi 14 ultra settings for excessive sharpness in portrait mode and I turned off the option called "portrait HD", now it's nice and soft. Btw two beast of photography!
I feel that the Vivo is very colorful, very bright, for quick and action-packed shots, it is a sensational camera, no doubt, but to my taste, Xiaomi takes calmer photos, so to speak, a calmer tone, in my opinion more professional, Vivo is very into lakes, beaches, forests etc, and Xiaomi is more into urban shooting, museums, sculpture, rain environment and books, I don't know if I explained myself well But each one depends on your way of being, how you see things and how you want to convey them to others, there simply is no best cell phone, there is the best one "for you" 😄
yes so true :D I think Xiaomi captures more "soul" so those enviroments you mentioned are great for it, like older style stuff, rain and so on. The more modern and bright related things (summer haha) is better on vivo ^^
@@ThroughJermainesLens I would dare to say that Vivo is a camera for beginners, an "easy" way to get good shots, and Xiaomi is for those who really know how to take advantage of what a good camera offers you.
As an Xiaomi User I would choose Xiaomi 14 Ultra not because of usage but Camera Style especially the Leica's colour Science which has that cinematic looks to it. Vivo this year has made major changes with their cameras which are Great especially ZEISS colour science. The colors, quality, depth, Great Dynamic ranges, shadows, highlights, HDR,etc. I think you can't go wrong with both of the Ultra's. It comes down to the preference in which both doesn't disappoints. Loved your Videos which actually has the technical understanding. Great Content❤.
Thanks man.. Long awaited video.. 😊
Hope you enjoyed it! :D
@@ThroughJermainesLens yeah.. well detailed comparison compare to others.. 👏 👏...
@@crazy_pradeep i try 😁
It's tough between these two, sometimes I prefer the Vivo, sometimes the XIaomi. I definitely don't regret my purchase of the 14 Ultra; I do like it more design wise (no curved screen, the vegan leather back)
yes hahaha it really is! Both are just so damn good!
For me, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra just gives better CAMERA vibes. That's not to say Vivo X100 Ultra has bad cameras, on the contrary, it has amazing cameras. The distinction for me, the Vivo X100 Ultra still shoots like a smartphone while the Xiaomi 14 Ultra shoots like a camera. And for that reason alone, it's why I decided to keep the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and send back the Vivo X100 Ultra.
Great comparison and 2 great camera phones.
thank you!
I don't think there is any mobile camera that can take down Vivo X100 Ultra on Night photography yet.
honor and huawei will win
@@eldi03rinthis must be a Joke. Huawei is Not good.
@@eldi03rin Nah not with their watercolor and overly contrasty processing. lol
Vivo always seems to be brightening everything up. Shadows and darkeness as important as light, it's' about what you see and what you dont see!
The vivo is doing what most phones are doing brightening everything & darken bright light source and is claimed to be more dynamic but to me is utter fake..
@@zizimai7568 yes too much processing, specially at night
I am a vivo fan since X70 pro plus, having also X90 pro plus. Now I own X100 ultra. And this because in terms of photography i feel more secure going out with Vivo. Besides that and because we also talking about..... phones, Xiaomi's hyper OS is very annoying in many ways, while Vivo's when you get rid of all Chinese stuff and it is easy to do it, it is super.
Always nice to see rhe video keep up the good work
Thank you brother ^^
good day, and in what mode is xiaomi shooting? vibrant or authentic. Now I am in a state of choosing a phone and my soul lies with xiaomi, but I like many moments of photos in vivo, as well as honor magic 6 pro. I can't decide what is better to take for a photo, mostly portraits
in the video ^^ Authenthic :D and Portraits, Xiaomi has a good natural depth, but cannot use the 35mm basically because exposure is a real struggle. Vivo is trust worthy, but turn of natural because it smoothens out the skin (which makes no sense)
Oppo Find X7 Ultra
@@ThroughJermainesLensBruh, go into settings, scroll down and find the setting for removing moles. Turn it off you should be good, learnt that from my Vivo X100 Ultra
To b an owner of either of these two phones,, camera which captures more realistic skin tones and details is prefered... most of photos taken by phone camera owners are human subjects not the artifficially created objects or nature. This important part is missing in this camera comparision. I hope U can come out with another video esp for comparing the human subject. Else very good camera comparision.
Human subjects isn't easy, because you have to ask strangers to take a picture or hire a model, which cost some money xD
We'd like to see how Xiaomi 14 ultra stack up to iPhone 16 pro max 😌🔥🙏🏽
@@randosemediarsa7967 pro (not max) will be coming in tomorrow;)
@@ThroughJermainesLens OH cant wait 🎉🎉 the Apple vs Xiaomi
The X14U will stack up well against the iPhone 18PM IMO and depending on how you use it maybe the 19 too. If you want straight to SM photos then Apple/Samsung and Pixel are great, if you want artistic "DSLR like" photos then X14U, you can't beat hardware no matter how good the processing is.
For me this is a really hard choice because I love the sort of deep shadows of the Xiaomi but I shoot portraits so much, idk maybe i should just go for the vivo and just use the vintage mode at this point
Hey Jermaine, noticed you mentioned Vivo being Summer and Xiaomi being autumn in general vibes, but what if you switch to Leica Vibrant? Would it match or surpass the punchiness of the vivo, or even overdo it then? Wondering if Xiaomi's other mode brings some useful versatility, or is it generally just over exaggerating the contrast/colours..?
You're right with saying the pixel is just too limited, i love this phones, wish i had one😂
hahaha jep, not a fan of being so limited.
I find it a bit weird that you judge the Vivo based on how accurately it portrays the colors compared to the Xiaomi, yet you do not use the realistic "ZEISS Natural" mode. That mode is well calibrated is very lifelike.
Goede review verder wel. Kan niet wachten op de X200 Pro, die ga ik meteen halen om mijn Z Flip 6 te vervangen haha
I did have Nikon D500 and I have been a professional portrait photographer and Vivo X100 Ultra blows me away with its black and white pictures, a mixture of light color pictures and portrait pictures. You can always put less AI and sharpening, if people look too beautiful or you want less sharp pictures : ) I think they both are like super sports cars, you have to know how to use them and when you find the relation and feel for them, they are going to give you a lot.
100% true! Both of them are really solid! Just in their own right, I really wanted to bring that home in this video, because man does preference matter!
Very interesting comparison!
When it comes to the top camera phones in the market, I cannot think of much else besides Xiaomi14U and VivoX100U (the FX7U too to some extent).
I've watched a ton of comparison videos and have kept splitting hairs on which is overall better in camera experience.
In this particular video, I felt like the Vivo shots mostly looked better.
The Xiaomi shots looked a little desaturated, as through there was a slight fog in all the images (needing some 'dehaze').
The Vivo photos in this comparison looked more punchy and ready to post, but were also a bit more burnt at times.
Ofc there are so many more aspects to consider for a phone - The O.S., features, and most importantly global availability and pricing in your region.
In India, getting Vivo X100U is practically ruled out, not sold anywhere.
So Xiaomi 14U is the only option. Xiaomi here also gives around 5% off during their initial sales.
It'll be nice if high-end phones had like a DSLR mode, that basically gave you the most neutral DSLR look possible with those sensors.
Vivo stock has this really good feature of sharpening control in the stock mode, hope Xiaomi includes this in their 15Ultra.
Vivo also has better Zeiss T* coatings for controlling all sorts of highlights, has better auto focus I believe?, better stabilization etc.
In some of your earlier comparisons I felt Xiaomi did a better job with the mood/feel/colors etc.
But in this one, the Xiaomi did not look that good - very few shots like [the ceiling of the cathedral with the chandelier] where Xiaomi colours looked nicer.
I've always wanted a DSLR in my pocket kind of phone.
Each of these phones, Xiaomi or Vivo, applies their processing style and preference, and the only way to get a neutral DSLR like look with very little sharpening is by editing the RAW files yourself.
They could provide denoise and sharpening options in the stock mode, but colors/HDR is a very difficult subjective area, and that is what seems to control the mood feel of the shot.
Having 'styles' is one step in that direction, but the color enhancement needs more subtle control options.
Sorry for the longer message.
Just typed out my thoughts as they came.
Thank you first of all!!!
For these types of comparison it always depends on the kind of style you like, some like the bit more punch then the more muted aspect of it, I think Xiaomi is muted for a lot of phone photographers, where the Xiaomi is more of a camera photographer in a sense. as in more muted, and more freedom possibly to adjust. For myself I like that approach a bit more, but it can come at a cost in dynamic range in some cases, where you can see that inside shots with the mirror where the dynamic range is better on the vivo!
I think that narritive of summer vs Autumn is simply the best way to describe them both, I am more of the moddy autumn kind of style lover, BUT there are clearly situations where that doesn't work as well!
and agreed, if you want to the approach of more self control, RAW is the way to go, though the raw on the Xiaomi is more muted where the ones on Vivo can have more colour already in them.
@@ThroughJermainesLens
Thanks for your reply, I agree with all your points.
Pixel 6P had triple sliders for controlling exposure, temp, and shadows.
I think the 'shadows slider' is a game changer.
Because if the 'raised shadows' are moved to 0, it removes all of the artificial look instantly,
And the shot then has the same mood look as a regular cam or DSLR.

I was on the verge to buy xiaomi but my friend who buy it two weeks ago have had a fogging issue that he cannot resolve. He send his unit back and want to try with another one one but I'm not sure now. I don' want to have hustle with 1000 euro worth phone.
